13 Chapter 13

It was seven in the evening when they were almost done packing. It was because of the fact that they just needed to pack their clothes and stuff here and there. Justin's mom had already filled their new house with food and basic necessities, so they didn't have much to pack.

Only Justin's office room was left. So they both headed there. They were listening to music while accumulating items and storing them in the boxes, just like in the other rooms.

After keeping the last file in the box and closing it with tape, Justin stood up. He saw her in his workroom. Fiona was looking at some of his photos with a gleaming smile on her face. So he went towards her and sat beside her.

Once she realized his presence, she said, " I am sorry, Ah, I saw this photo and…."

Like always, Justin interrupted her, "It's okay, Fiona. You weren't committing a crime. And I won't mind sharing these pictures with you."

In response, he got her beautiful smile. With each picture passing by, she had an awed look on her face, which made her look cute.

"Oh, my God! I had no idea you had a thing for teddy bears." She laughed.

Justin was mortified when he noticed she was holding a photo of him hugging his teddy bear for dear life. You could not blame him as he was just five

and small and innocent.

"Oh crap!! I was small, and you can't blame me for liking a teddy bear as a toddler; everyone does." He was flushed.

"Oh, come on, Bunny, I do not doubt your sexuality." She was laughing now.

"You just did not go there. And don't call me Bunny."

"Okay, Bunny. I won't call you Bunny. That's what you want to know, Bunny." Now she was teasing him.

"This time, Fiona. You are going to be sorry if you call me that." Justin said as he approached her.

She was walking backward, "If I don't listen to what you will do, BUNNY." Emphasizing his embarrassing nickname.

Slowly emphasizing each word, he said, "I... Am... Going to... tickle you..."

As Justin mentioned the word tickle, she ran, and he ran behind her.

They were both running across the living hall. They were laughing while she was running from Justin's tickle war, and he was chasing her. When Justin

was about to catch her, he tripped and fell over her.

"Ouch," They both groaned.

He was above her. Both his palms rested on the floor so that he wouldn't crush her. When their eyes met, they were glued. She had simple brown eyes,

which had so much innocence in them.

Fiona was trapped by his ocean blue eyes. It was so enthralling and refreshing.

"OH MY GOD, MY POOR VIRGIN EYES." Immediately, their site was broken by Fiona's best friend, Emily.

They both stood up, embarrassed, "Guys, in the living room, seriously."

Justin was stuttering embarrassingly, "uh... uh..."

"So what are you doing here, Em? And how the hell did you get into this place?"

"Can't I come and see my girlfriend, who this handsome hunk has stolen away from me? It was easy peasy. Your home security is terrible, and picking the

locks on your apartment was a piece of cake."

"Well, that doesn't make me feel better." Justin mumbles.

"Em, how many times I have told you..."

"I know, Fiona. But it is no fun to ring the bell, plus I thought I could scare both of you with my amazing ninja skill." Em shrugged.

“You are crazy." Justin told her.

"I know. That's what makes me perfect. Plus, get used to it. You will see this craziness for the rest of your life."

Justin looked at Fiona anxiously, to which she responded. "She is harmless."

"You don't need to be scared of me. I am not a thief. I just used this skill to enter my close friend's place and, anyway, I came here because I heard, uh,

about your encounter... With..." She looks at Justin uncomfortably.

"He knows about it." Fiona informed her.

Then Justin said in the middle, "I think I should leave you girls to talk."

Em said, "No way, Justin. We haven't even been introduced properly, and well, we need to have some serious discussion." She told him by pointing the

finger at him.

Em can be really scary if she wants to be, and Fiona knew about her 'so-called serious discussion.' She just loves to scare people away. It is her favorite

pass time job.

"Um, sure." That was Justin's smart reply.

He looked at Fiona and mouthed, "HELP." But she shrugged it off with a chuckle.

All three of them sat on the couch.

Here goes Emily's speech.

"Okay. I am Emily, Fiona's best buddy, a partner in crime, and girlfriend. As you are her dearest husband, you may call me Em or Emy."

When he was about to speak, Em glared at him, signaling him to keep his mouth shut, to which he sincerely obeyed.

"I will not be interrupted by Mr. Carter until I am done." She scolded him like a teacher.

"So, as you know about our ex-BFF and that douche. I am warning you ahead of time: if you hurt her in any way, I will personally come and kill you with my own bare hands, bury you, and put myself in prison. Don't make the mistake of taking me lightly because Noah has got his share of beatings from me.

Am I clear, Mr. Justin Carter?"

To which he nodded carefully.

"Good!! You better mark my word because I don't joke around."

'Shit! This girl can be really scary.' That's what Justin thought after Emily's speech. But he was glad that Fiona had such a strong BFF who had beaten

Noah, which made him feel better. Despite that, this girl has got some nerves.

"Don't worry, Em. I have no intention of hurting her. I am not at all like Noah." Justin said to her while looking at his wife.

"I am glad to hear that." And then she shocked him by hugging him tightly.

It surprised him. What is she? A bipolar.

"You are not trying to choke me, are you?" He cracked a joke.

“Nope," Em said.

Justin was glad she liked him, or else she wouldn't have thought twice about burying him down.

For a few hours, they talked and laughed. Em is an intriguing girl. She reminds Justin of his best friend, James. They should all really have brunch together. He smiled at that thought.

After bidding goodbye to them, they both sat on the couch.

"Well, that was Em for you."

"She is one heck of a girl." Justin told her.

"Yes, she is. I don't know what I would do if she weren't there in my life. She has been a rock for me." She said.

"And, like her, I am there for you." Justin told her in full honesty.

"Well, don't you think we had a memorable last day in this apartment?"

"Yes, it was an interesting day." She agreed.

They were both yawning. "I think it's time for us to sleep." Justin stated.

They both said their goodbyes and went into their rooms. Finally, they will shift to their new home tomorrow. And surprisingly, Justin was looking

forward to his journey with Fiona.
