12 Chapter 12

Justin was getting impatient. He was pacing from one point to another. But after a few minutes, he barged into Fiona's room to see her silently sitting on her bed. He could see dried tears on her cheeks.

So he went towards her and sat in front of her. Fiona looked at him with her glassy eyes. Then, before she could say anything, he engulfed her in a friendly hug.

"Hey, it's okay. Relax, I am here with you." Justin tried to console her.

Time seemed to fly by, but none of them bothered to interrupt their moments. Then, finally, they were sitting in this position; Fiona in Justin's arms, who protectively wrapped his arms around her.

"I... am really sorry..." She stammered.

"Hey... It's okay." Justin tried to soothe her down.

He gave her a glass of water to drink.

"I..." He interrupted her.

"I know that you know, like every other curious person, I want to know about those two. But you don't have to say unless you want to." He told her with

total honesty.

Justin wanted to know about those two, but not at the cost that would make her cry or upset her further than she already.

"I want to... You deserve to know."

He nodded and held her close to him.

So she began, "The girl you met there was Annabelle. She was my best friend in high school and college. Emily, Bella, and I have been best buddies from the day we started our preschool. And Noah, the guy beside her is her boyfriend and my ex-boyfriend."

She stopped for a moment and was trying to study his expression. He tried to keep a poker face. How was he supposed to react when he met his wife's ex?

Then, taking a deep breath, Justin composed himself and encouraged her to continue.

After a moment or so, she began to talk again.

"I met Noah in my first year of college. When I first met him, we immediately clicked. Apart from Mason, he was like my second guy, my best friend. I

didn't even know, but after being with him for years, he charmed me. We started dating during my second year of college, and he quickly asked me to be

his girlfriend.

She took a deep breath and continued.

"We were in a relationship for a year. Everyone, including my group and my other mates, thought we were the perfect couple. But (she closed her eyes),

he cheated on me with my best friend on the third anniversary of our relationship. I knew that Bella had been crushing on him for a long time. But she was the one who encouraged me to date him. So, after so much persuasion, I agreed with her and started dating Noah. When I confronted him, he blamed

me. He told me that I made him do it. He told me that I took care of his so-called needs, then he wouldn't have gone to Bella. He also told me that this was

not the first time they did it."

Fiona still had Justin's arms wrapped around him.

Justin was still not able to believe what those two people had done to her. Yes, he was shocked that Fiona was still innocent, but just because she didn't feel like losing it didn't give that bastard any right to cheat on her. On top of that, he has the nerves to call a beautiful girl like her an average bitch.

Annabelle, who calls herself her best friend, has the guts to betray her. If he saw those two again, only the gods could save them from his wrath.

Anger was building up, but as soon as he heard Fiona's silent snores, he was immediately calmed.

She appeared to be sleeping peacefully. She had one hell of an afternoon. To keep his mind off things, he decided to work for a few hours. As it is, Fiona needed some rest.

Fiona woke up in her bed. Her head was aching because of a lot of crying. She was thankful to Justin for being there for her. Thinking about him makes her smile.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by him. "Hey, you okay now? You need not thank me, and you don't need to ask how I know what you were going to say." He said it with a genuine smile on his face.

Justin sat beside her and took her hand in his. It fitted perfectly.

"You are strong; it's their loss that they lost such an amazing person like you. I know I don't know you very well, but I can tell you that you are not only

beautiful on the outside but also on the inside."

Fiona was speechless, so she just nodded.

"Promise me you will never cry for those morons. You still have Emily and Mason with you, and most importantly, even I am there now. So, no more

sobbing, promise?"

Fiona just nodded.

"Good,"

"You know, Fi, it is okay to be old school. I have always believed in it."

"Really?" She asked him with wide eyes.

"Yes, that's something mom instilled in me during the start of my teen years. So don't worry about it too much and forget those two idiots."

She nodded her head vigorously.

And after such a long time, she had a million-dollar smile on her face.

"Hmm, so we need to pack. We are leaving this apartment tomorrow morning."

"Oh yes, I completely forgot." She groaned.

"But before packing, we need to eat. I am famished as I had eaten nothing since morning."
