33 The Stray Devils Are No More

At Zeno's underground base outside of Kuoh Town, in the room where the time chamber door was placed. The door was suddenly opened as Zeno and the girls walked out from behind the door. A year has passed since they were training inside the time chamber and their strength has increased greatly. The group also gained one extra member inside the time chamber.

"Alright, girls, you all can rest for today, and tomorrow we'll go hunt some bounties."

Zeno said as he looked at the girls, his determination to earn money to buy various things for his unborn daughter was evident on his face. Zeno had already used Touki magic to do the ultrasound image projection of the baby and had determined its gender and health. Asia and Zeno were pretty happy and relieved that their baby was a healthy girl. Zeno also feels giddy that his baby girl will be born soon. He wonders if he should grow a mustache and practice dad jokes soon.

"Yes, Master/Zeno-san."

The girls replied in unison to him before they started going out of the room while chatting with each other. Asia with her eight-month pregnant belly walked carefully with Charmie glued to her side and ready to support her if needed.

As the last person in the room, Zeno left the door of the time chamber open to not let the villa inside the time chamber aging rapidly from the time difference before he went out of the room.

When he arrived at the apartment his smartphone suddenly alerted him of a text from someone. He raised his eyebrow and pulled out his smartphone to look at the message. He has a hunch about who is the likely one to text him.

[ Himiko Murabiki: Zavior-san...? ]

Seeing Himiko's message was not surprising for Zeno as he didn't really have anyone who would text him other than his girls. He expected that Himiko might take some time before she would contact him again, it was no wonder since he ravished her lips at the end of their date so Himiko was probably too embarrassed to chat with him.

With an amused smirk, he replied to her as he typed in his smartphone.

[ ZZ: Hi, how are you, Murabiki-san? ]

Zeno then went to the living room and sat on the couch as he waited for her to text him back. Then a few seconds later she texted back to him. He read her message with a chuckle.

[ Himiko Murabiki: I'm fine, how about you? ]

[ ZZ: I'm doing pretty okay. ]

Zeno replied to her and wondered if this girl was trying to act like the kissing incident didn't happen. Well, he imagines that it'll be awkward and embarrassing for her to mention it.

[ Himiko Murabuki: Ano... Zavior-san. ]

[ ZZ: Yes? ]

Reading her message Zeno wonders if Himiko wants to invite him out with her again.

"..."

But as Zeno waited for her to continue the conversation, he noticed that she seemed to be taking her time for some reason as minutes passed by without her texting him.

"Is this girl testing my patient?"

Meanwhile, In Himiko's bedroom, Himiko was currently struggling with herself if she should invite him on a date again or not. The last date was quite unforgettable to her as she still felt Zeno's touch on her butt from time to time and the lewd kisses they shared... She even has wet dreams about it.

When Zeno starts to consider going to find something to eat after still not receiving any text for a while, Himiko finally texts him as his smartphone trembles with the bird-chipping noise.

[ Himiko Murabiki: Will you go out with me again this weekend? ]

"Oh?"

Zeno was half expecting this. He starts to admire the girl's bravery or is this just her thirstiness? Anyway, if she wants to go on a date with him, he will of course go on a date with her since he doesn't have any reason to refuse.

[ ZZ: Yes, the same place and the same time? ]

[ Himiko Murabiki: Yes! Thank you! ]

Zeno smirked as he felt that Himiko would become more assertive toward him on their date. Maybe he should talk with her about his harem before they could advance their relationship to avoid greater drama later on.

The next day, Zeno and his maids are out hunting as the stray devils that hiding in Kuoh Town are hunted to extinction. Zeno has managed to create a detection spell to detect the chaotic mana unique to the stray devil so no stray devil survived at the end of the day. Kuoh Town will be a stray-free area for a while.

Zeno also devoured quite a few stray devils with useful abilities.

First is the stray with the ability to breathe fire and have a decent resistance to heat.

Second is the stray with the ability to become very flexible like a rubber.

Third is the stray with the ability to shapeshift and manipulate its appearance but it was limited to a humanoid shape.

Fourth is the stray with the ability to turn its body into a black tar-like liquid that is very resistant to cold but very flammable, by the way, Zeno has quite a hard time devouring this stray devil.

Lastly, the stray with the ability to shoot energy beams out of its eyes and a few more stray devils but they only gave him a minor improvement to his physical strength and durability.

He and his maids then transported the severed heads of the stray devils to Sona at Kuoh Academy as Sona peerage members currently identified the stray devils' heads in the boxes.

"Thank you for your hard work, Zavior-san."

Sona with Tsubaki following behind her approached him with a serious expression. She was quite impressed with his work as he brought more than the last time.

"No problem, we hunted them more thoroughly this time so you will not have any stray problem for a while."

Zeno in his full-body SS suit and white jacket said with the usual deep and distorted voice. He was pleased with today's hunt and that is mostly thanks to the detection spell he created.

"That is great news, thank you very much for helping us get rid of them."

Sona said with a relief expression. She had investigated and checked the town barrier thoroughly the other day and found many blind spots in the barrier that could be exploited. She was not sure if it was because of insufficient maintenance or was someone intentionally left it like that. She had already contacted her big sister to take care of it, reluctantly by the way.

"Zavior-san, since you took care of all the stray devils in Kuoh... will you start traveling to hunt bounty outside of Kuoh now?"

Sona asked him with a complicated expression. She feels a bit concerned that if he starts going out of town now Kokabiel might use this chance to cause trouble. Zeno seeing her expression and aware of her concern with the dead Kokabiel, smells a good opportunity.

"Are you worrying about Kokabiel?"

He asks while barely maintaining his natural expression without smirking. He can use this to milk money from her.

"Well, to be honest, yes."

Sona nodded her head with a resigned expression. She thinks that if there is no powerful individual like him in Kuoh, Kokabiel will definitely come out to attack them. Serafall and her parent also want her to come back to the underworld but she is using the excuse that Zeno is in the town to remain in Kuoh. She doesn't want to go back to the underworld since who knows how long before she will be allowed to come back to Kuoh again. Her dream is at stake here.

"Hmm, if you are willing to pay me 2,500 dollars a day then I can remain here to guard the town for a month or two."

"Really?!"

After hearing what Zeno proposed Sona was overjoyed. Such a dirt cheap price for a powerful ultimate-class being, who will refuse such a thing? If Zeno heard her thoughts he would definitely regret not asking for a 10,000 dollar per day.

After discussing some terms of the contract Zeno then departed with his maids leaving the smiling Sona and her peerage members on top of the school building with a stack of iceboxes.

Meanwhile, at Zeno's apartment, in the living room, Asia, Ezrah, and Zestia could be seen sitting on the couch as they watched drama on TV together.

Zestia has a blank expression on her face the entire time as she watches the stupid heroine rejecting help from the Simp male character and proceeding to cause the unnecessary mess and end up crying like a toddler in the rain.

Ezrah seems to be amused as the heroine gets owned by reality while Asia wonders why the heroine is crying in the middle of the road, is that dangerous?
