1 A Ruff way to go

Who would have thought in only 24 hours I would have died, be reborn and become the king of an empire in another world, definitely not me but it happened.

It all started when I, Dr. Daniel Dusk, was prepping to preform surgery on a cat, and of course this particular cat was owned by the wife of my employer. Normally a cat that was hit by a car would be put down or left for dead but not this cat, it was a pure bred bengal and it meant the world to that woman. I had to find a way for this cat to survive I don't know what Mr. Willis would do to me if his wife's precious pet died under my care but I wasn't worried. I was a prodigy in my field the youngest person to ever become a licensed veterinarian at only 14 and after five years of hard work I was the head of the finest clinic in the world. So, I carefully prepared for surgery and entered the surgical room, after the cat was given anesthesia I started the procedure. The cat's injury was quite severe it had been hit by a car and had its back right leg run over. So the possibility of success was already very low, but having Mrs. Willis breathing down my neck during the entire process was not any help. As I was attempting to repair the cats leg I nicked the femoral artery because of someone behind me bumping into me during the surgery and the sensors started beeping. Instantly Mrs. Willis started freaking out trying to get to her cat while I was trying to stop the bleeding. Out of nowhere she pushes me out of the way and I fall landing with my scalpel stabbing into my neck blood pooling out of the hole in my neck and as I lay there I hear screams of anger and sadness as the cat flatlines my eyes close and my mind goes blank.

I woke up in a strange place, in what I assumed was a hospital bed immediately I reach for my neck but there was no hole, no stitches, nothing. I I started to wonder if it was all a dream until a beautiful women dressed in an ivory white dress with large plump breasts, shoulder length blonde hair and beautiful golden eyes, she stood about 5 feet tall and had a sense of divinity about her. I slapped myself in my face I mean obviously this was a dream why would a women this beautiful be in my room. I would not say I was a bad looking person I was 19 years old 6 feet tall with short brown hair, green eyes and regularly went to the gym so I was built well, but still why was a women like this here for me. I was about to ask who she was but I was unable as she pushed her lips up against mine and in that moment I felt a pulse though out my entire body and then she pulled away blushing, completely red in the face. All I could say in response was "Wow". From there she said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I've just been waiting for you for so long and when you finally got here I couldn't hold myself back and ahh.. I've said too much...."

"What does she mean waiting for me?" I thought "I never planned on being in this situation".

As I was thinking she started talking "Well I should let you know that you are dead and this place is the afterlife, normally the goddess of death would be the one to greet but I got special permission to be here for you instead."

"Oh so that wasn't a dream I truly did die" I stated.

"You seem to be quite calm with your own death that is quite strange for mortal beings" she expressed.

"Working as a veterinarian death was sadly a very common occurrence in my line of work" I dimly admitted.

"That's exactly what I lo... I mean like about you and I, Maneya the Goddess of beasts, have decided to grant you some of my power and send you to a new world of magic with all different kinds of animals and beasts."

As I sat there staring at her I realized what she was saying, I had always dreamed of seeing magical being like dragons and unicorns. The curiosity of what they looked like and how they functioned was driving me insane I could not wait to start my new life in this magical land.

Maneya started to talk again but I only heard bits and pieces of what she said as I was too engrossed in my own thoughts. I started listening again after she brought up the new world.

"The world is named Raphtania you will be placed somewhere in the largest kingdom called Astsania, sadly I cannot be precise with where so hopefully you will be safe we can always try again if it fails."

I immediately shouted "I'M READY TO GO THERE NOW, PLEASE."

Maneva shot me down "Hold your horses Daniel, first you need to hear about your power I gave you, don't think that kiss was only for my satisfaction, I gave you a slice of my divine power with that and you now have an ability know as Beastmaster. With this ability any monster you tame or defeat in battle you will gain their abilities as there own but if that beast were to die you would lose those abilities so do not to kill them. With the millions of different species of beasts in Raphtania you should be able to become quite powerful and as you learn more about the world and about the beast you and your abilities should evolve be even better and stronger then I can even imagine."

"And with that I wish you farewell and good luck as I send you to this foreign land."

And with a snap of her slim porcelain fingers I lost sight of her. The next thing I saw is a massive being and a group of four men and two women with swords and spears charging towards it. As I look closer the being started flapping its wings and breathed a pure white flame that froze all six of the people into ice sculptures, which were immediately crushed under the foot of this monster. As it turned and looked towards me it started to walk closer, I realize this monster was none other than a dragon and this dragon had it's sights set on me.
