The Encounter

*Thunder clasp*

*Gasp*

To me every thunder clasp sounded just like the growl I heard earlier before I was bitten by a monstrous beast. What could have bitten me?... A beast I know, but what type of beast is that?... I had no Idea of.

Pressing my hands tight against the bite, I blindly ran through the woods, hoping to find my way back home, and at the same time lose the beast. But that was a ghost hope for me, and for a beast that large, I don't know how I can escape here.

*Twigs breaks*

"Shit"... I mumbled.

I willed my legs to move faster, ducking fast to avoid the low hanging branches. I could hear the soft thuds of its paws as it pursued me .

A thought crossed my mind. "Maybe this was a game to it, like... common aren't Leopards, and Lions known to first play with their prey before ending it life? "...

Then, I saw flashes, Hmmm, This must be a mind trick... I told myself, or maybe the bite is beginning to take its toll on me. "Could that have been what I thought I saw?"... I asked myself, as I tumbled through, hoping what I saw was actually headlights of cars speeding by.

Then... I assessed the distance, few more strides till I escape here. I could hear the beast closing up on me from behind...
