In the Storm

The rocket ripped through Headspace's body and caused him to burst into flames….
"Shoot…. It's exactly like last time! I don't believe it!" Ridley, the young man's chosen name, sighed watching a body blow to dust in the wind… He really hated watching people die, and deaths like this were so tragic….
As for the babies, once again, those were actually 799 versions of himself, and he had no choice but to pick up the sword! However, last time, he got saved by a beautiful women who also happened to turn into his mother for the next fifteen years….
She walked up to him and stared at him and the gun by his feet….
"I… I wasn't selected to be in this battle royale…. Please…. please don't hurt me…." She looked extremely cute and beautiful to Ridley, and he laughed before shaking his head and picking up the rocket launcher on the floor…
"I wasn't picked either… However, we got to get out of here! The clouds are coming in quickly, and we have to hurry!"
Ridley grabbed his 'mother' by the hand and immediately rushed out of the warzone…. He ran his fastest before he noticed what seemed like a comet flying right above him…. He jumped down as men flew above him chasing after that comet, and as for the lady next to him, she immediately pushed away out of nervousness….
"I'm not going to hurt you…. I'm actually quite a good guy…" Ridley smiled as the lady scoffed at him….
"Yeah…. Every single man in this world is nothing but a jerk! Hmph! The good ones never make it past their first war, and only the strongest survive!"
Ridley, inwardly, nodded his head…
However, he knew he had to go at his fastest speed to a small building with a library in it….
If his memory served him correctly, that was where the comet landed…. If he got the package in the comet, it would allow him to unlock one legendary treasure before his first battle! In addition, legendary treasures could be taken in and out of battles! He had to get to that treasure!
"Come on…. Stop fighting with me about men…. Run! Run!"
Ridley pointed towards the flying men in the sky before his once mother, Fiera, gulped and held onto his hand… Like two bolts of lightning dancing through the clouds, they surfed through the cars in the smoggy streets, and arrived in front of the library….
"That's it! Hold on Fiera!"
Ridley let go of her hand, and rushed towards the flickering comet…. He literally dived head first into a glass window and blood dripped down his body…. As for the comet, it was barely translucent when his hand touched it, and the device on his wrist activated…

Ridley felt himself cringing with excitement… A bar popped up on his vision as Fiera walked over noticing blood dripping down from his body…
"You're… you're hurt! Quick… activate your genetic devic—"
"I… I'm fine…" Ridley said as he turned around with a smile on his face…. If he dared activate his genetic recalibration device at this moment, the download would end!"
What kind of fool would do such a thing at a critical moment?
"You're insane…. Wait…. What is it that you found?" Fiera walked slowly over towards Ridley seeing his gun dropped on the floor…. As for the comet in her hand, even she could recognize the golden shimmer, and she gulped before her hand started slowly shaking….
"I…. I can't believe your luck…. I…. I really don't want to do this…." Fiera's hand started shacking harder and harder as she reached down and placed the gun in her hand…. It jingled to the sound of her racing heart before she aimed it right at Ridley's head….
Tears fell down her eyes….
Her mouth began watering, and the next second she loaded the trigger….
"That…. You really can't take that! Please… please just share whatever you get…." Fiera wiped the tears off her eyes before Ridley smiled and nodded his head…
"You're a good lady Fiera…. I appreciate you putting the gun down…"
'Otherwise, it be strange killing the woman who… who raised me…. It's hard enough seeing her again let alone killing her….'
<Beep!>
<System has finished downloading…. Matrix structure has been downloaded into genetic matrix… Do you have any questions about the object?"
"….ugh…. no thanks…. Please just tell me how many participants are still alive in the battlefield, and the location of the nearest shelter…"

<Hosts basic AI has been upgraded to the system interface…. Host has unlocked 50 new features including locations of hidden weapons, and other features…>

"… Do you have any weapons?"
<Ding! Host has access to weapons shop, magic skills, and other abilities….>
"Magic…. No way… that's not supposed to happen until the other worlds…. Why would you have magic?"
"Host is asking a question that makes no sense…. Host has access to a legendary weapon, so certain anomalous forces are allowed…"
"…." Ridley sighed and pulled onto Fiera's hand after the system's voice left his head…. He now had to make it to the safe house, and found a car on the road…. On the way there, he turned on his genetic healing function of his device as arrived at a the car window... To the surprise of Fiera, he easily hot wired the care by pulling out the belly under the steering wheel, what's more, he rushed down the streets and flew over the hilly areas of the San Laurence Hills…
It took him less than 5 minutes after that to make it to the shelter….
"We're here…. You can get out now… hahaha…." Ridley laughed and wiped the hair of Fiera's head… She'd been dead to him for over 9500 years, and it felt like he was touching an antique as she still shook from the intense car ride….
"Who… who taught you how to drive jerk! You could've got us killed!" Fiera then laughed before they exited the car…. "That was so much fun! I can't believe I'm still alive!"
"Well… let's go in…. I apparently got some credits from an assist kill… I feel like I owe you a drink? Shall we?"
Ridley opened the door to the safe house and then walked into a place swarming with people in scant clothing… He immediately walked up to the bar tender, and asked for two drinks…
Surprisingly, he even recognized someone in the room known as Hotshot, and another man that went by Lightning canopy…
They were crazy…..
He'd been in a guild with them, and he couldn't help but wonder what were the odds of seeing them again? He sat down as the bar tender passed him a drink…. Fiera sighed and picked it up before dropping the entire glass in her mouth….
"Foo! This world sucks!" Fiera smiled as a burning sensation traveled down her throat…. "We are now all genetically immortal because of these wrist watches, however, what is the point if none of us live past 35!"
"Heh…. It's because of the Aratus…." Ridley replied before downing his glass as well…. He'd never heard of a zero year old downing a glass of liquor before, however, his body was that of an eighteen year old…. The next moment, a glass flew past him and into the wall before shards shattered all over the wall…
"This bitch is mine! Get away from her!" A man grabbed Ridley by the throat before he laughed and dropped a drink on the bar….
"Oh…. So a lunatic already… I forgot earth used to be like this…" Ridley smiled as the man tossed him on the ground…. He slid right over towards Hotshot before his old friend looked down at him and turned away…. Of course, he would've done the same thing, and bounced off of his feet before that drunk man appeared in front fo him….
Alcohol dripped off his fist, and he then proceeded to try and smash it into Ridley's face…
Ridley dodged easily, and slid past the fist…. His hand then arrived right in the nostrils of the drunk man before a sprinkling of blood doused his half-torn jacket….
"I don't want to kill you…. It's not a battle…. Get the fuck out of here now, or I'll gift your d*ck to that blender over there…"
Ridley squashed his boot against the hand of that man before his face swelled with a horrifying scream…..
"F*ck… we're all going to f*cking die! What's the point! Kill me! Just like I killed my brother! Kill me mother fucker! Kill me!"
Booom!
Fiera smashed the man's face in with her glass and laughed before helping Ridley get off the floor….
"Come on… I think he's a 'survivor' of a battle… Now…. Since you were kind of enough to save me, would you like to keep me company for a night?"
Fiera latched her arm around Ridley's before he laughed nervously as the clouds began roaring in the background...
