Even though I tried droving her away, she chosed to stay by my side.

If she hadn't been so stubborn like the latter she is. I would've run away feeling devastated.

She's right that I can't be alone in this state. I needed someone by my side. And I'm thankful that it's her.

Knowing her personality, I was expecting her to leave and ignore me like she always does to me. But she didn't.

I think it's been five days already since we got here. I've known her for only five days. Yet there's something in me already that keeps lingering. I don't know if it's just me being confused. But I'm certain that I feel it for her.

Everyone's still probably asleep right now. Just like her. She was sleeping peacefully on my shoulder.

And this will be probably the first and last time that I can gaze on her up close.

"You know... For a b**ch, you're beautiful..." I muttered.

She have a perfect big, round eyes. Her pinkish lips and her reddish cheeks. Her perfect nose bridge.

She really is beautiful. And I swear, I barely see beautiful maiden like her. Well every lady in our group are really beautiful, but for me. Abie really stands out among them.

"You know, I appreciate you calling me beautiful but you calling me a b**ch might be a different case..." she suddenly spoke causing my eye to widen.

She was awake???

"Yes, dumbass I was awake!"

She's really rare. She doesn't even give a da*n even if I'm a Prince. And I like it about her.

"Are you okay now?" she asked furrowing her brownish eyebrows.

"Y-yeah... Y-you?"

"Why do you ask me? You were the one whining just last night!" she said.

I immediately stood up causing her to fall on the ground.

"Hey! I wasn't whining last night! I-I was..."

"Don't worry! I won't tell anyone how you cried like a kid!" she said as she stood up.

She started looking around before her gaze paused on me.

"Sunlight..." she said.

"I know! But the thick clouds are covering them so I'll be fine! We should go back, the others may be worried!" I said but I realized she wasn't looking at me.

Then slowly, she stood up with her face filled with certain worriedness.

She pointed behind me and there I saw the yellowish sunlight reflecting from the pond.

Just the sight of it made my stomach turn upsode down. My visions blurring. I can hear her voice repeating my name until my knees gave up causing me to fall on the ground.

"Abie!!! Prince Shade!!!" I heard familiar voices calling for our name.

She sat in front of me and I felt a warm cloak covering us.

"It's alright Shade! You're gonna be fine! They're coming!" she whispered to my ears.

My name never felt wonderful not until this moment.

"Don't close your eyes okay? You still have to make it up with me for calling me a b**tch!" she said and forced a laugh.

My eyelids are getting heavier every seconds. Right now, all I can feel is her blocking me from seeing the light.

"Abie! You need to move! I have to cover him!" It was Yalex yelling in a frantic voice.

"I'm not moving! Just do it!" Abie yelled at him and after a few seconds I heard bramches slowly covering both of us.

I think it was about 3 hours when we stayed in that position. She was sitting in front me while my head is leaning on her shoulder.

I still can barely feel my body and I can never forget how numbness tok over it.

"You know you owe me twice right?" she said and I forced a laugh.

"I'll... m-make it up... to you..." I said.

"This is so sudden! Why did the sun suddenly showed up!?" I heard Lexus yelled.

"Do you think those people out there are playing with us? What if we're the only ones left in the forest! So now they're trying to kill us one by one!" Laurant.

"Laurant have a point! I mean we just killed dozens of contestants last night!" Salazar.

"I don't think so! Whatever's happening right now! I'm certain that there is someone behind it!" Ayane said.

"Then how long will Abie and Prince Shade stay in there?" Nina.

"Until there's no sunlight of course!" Selene.

"Then that will take hours! We will have to stay here until nightfal!" Acrox.

"We don't have a choice! Prince Shade is the only one who hace enough intelligence about the temples!" Lexus.

"But I'm curious though! What is Abie doing inside with him?" Jean.

"Oh yeah! It's not like sunlight can kill her too! Why did she stay there with him?" Coleen.

"They're... o-overthinking again..." I whispered.

"Tell me all about it and I'm going to kill them all!" she said.

After a few hours. I can feel something on my throat.

And then I smelled something that's been tempting me for a few minutes before, I think.

It's hers. Her blood... I can smell it... And it's tempting me.

I tried moving away from her.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Y-you need... t-to go!" I forced to say.

"Why? Is something wrong?" she asked again.

"P-please! I don't wanna hurt you..."

"Wait... I-is it because... you can smell my blood?"

I turned to her with a blank expression. She was only staring deep into my eyes.

"No!!! I- I don't want to hurt you!!!" I tried to move away from her but there aren't any enough space around us.

I flinched when she suddenly grabbed my nape pulling me closer to her.

"I can help you and you know that! Don't play hardheaded with me or else you'll die! Do you understand!?"

"You're the one who doesn't understand!" I removed her hands.

"If I do it, I might end up killing you! There are different cases when vampires drink blood! It can end up killing them, or mark them!" I explained.

There are a lot of things that people doesn't know about vampires.

When vampires takes blood from their victims, they can choose to kill them. Or they can choose to mark them.

When vampires marked their victims, the victims will become connected with the vampire.

They will know how each other will feel. How each other thinks. And there will be always something that will linger in both of them.

"Mark them? What do you mean? What dpes marking them means?" she completely have no idea.

"It means if a person is marked with a vampire, they will be committed to each other!" I said and after that she couldn't speak.
