Ka-cha!

Nathan opened the door and stepped outside.

Fatty and Tubby were there standing in front of him, blocking his way, and their eyes were like daggers.

He smiled and said, "Move or I'll gouge your eyes out before I throw you out of the balcony again."

They reluctantly moved to the side.

Nathan passed by them with Vincent behind him.

He continued walking until he reached the hallway of the first room on the ring wing of the second floor.

Tyler's room was the third room on the left wing of the second floor of the building.

He secretly summoned a pack of cigarettes and a lighter before sitting down on the balcony.

Click.

He sucked his cigarette and blew a cloud of white smoke.

"Wooo..."

"Nathan, it's okay. No point in dwelling over it. She'll come around. You'll see," said Vincent.

Nathan didn't say anything and was instead checking around if there was anyone nearby.

'Excluding the two of us, there's only Fatty and Tubby on the second floor…'

'But on the other buildings, there are some people walking and standing by the hallways…'

'Looks like my plan needs a few adjustments…'

"So you're planning to go to the south?"

Nathan still didn't say anything.

"Do you already have a place to stay tonight?"

This time, Nathan finally answered.

"I don't mean to be rude, but can you just leave me alone already? I want some time to think by myself."

"Hey, I'm just trying to be nice. No need to --"

Nathan scoffed and said, "Look, I already told you back at Block A to leave me alone but you still followed me. And just earlier, you tried to get in my way. Tell me, why are you following me? What do you want? If this is some guilt-trip mission or whatever it is you're trying to do, don't bother. The past is the past. Just leave me alone already."

Vincent's expression became serious.

"Nathan, whatever it is you're planning to do. Don't do it."

Given that they were childhood friends, Vincent knew a lot about Nathan's personality.

He knew when Nathan was pissed and planning to do something.

"What are you talking about? I'm just having a smoke to think but I can't when you keep following me around like a lost puppy."

"It's really not worth it. Trust me. It's really not."

"..."

"If I were you, I'd wait for her answer 3 days from now."

"Wait 3 days?" Nathan said and scoffed. "You and I both -- no, anyone even just with half a brain already knows what her answer will be."

"Then let her be. She's an adult. She's old enough to make her own de--"

"She's my family and I'm the eldest. I don't know about you, but I can never accept knowing that my own flesh and blood is wasting her life by turning herself into a sex doll junkie for a wannabe gangster rich kid."

"Wannabe gangster rich kid? He --"

"He loves her?" Nathan spat on the side. "You know what was happening there. You saw it with your own eyes. Tell me, who the fuck is that little shit to make my own flesh and blood part of his harem? Does he think my family is that cheap? He even had the audacity to butt in into my family matters! And that cousin of mine, my God! Like brother and sister! Both are emotional idiots!"

Vincent became silent.

Putting aside the junkie part, even he would be pissed if someone made his sister, cousin or any female family member of his something like a concubine and also interfere with his family matters.

This wasn't a movie, anime or whatever after all. This was real life and this was Asia where family ties are held in high regard.

No matter what anyone says, what Tyler did was no different from spitting on his face. And to make it even worse, Aena herself let it happen in front of many people.

The shame was just too great to bear.

Nathan and Vincent heard the sound of a faint muffled loud rap music from Tyler's room once again.

Nathan's lips curled up into a smile.

He sucked his cigarette one last time before flicking it away.

"Wooo..."

"Where are you going?" asked Vincent.

"Just fuck off already," he said as he made his way back to the Fatty and Tubby.

Vincent rushed in front of him.

Tap.

And placed his hand on Nathan's chest.

"Nathan."

Nathan looked at Vincent's hand on his chest.

He grabbed the wrist and squeezed.

Crack!

"Argh…!" Vincent groaned in pain and gritted his teeth as the bones on his wrists got crushed, but he didn't fall to his knees.

"Didn't I tell you not to touch me ever again?"

Craaaccckkk…

Nathan continued squeezing.

"Argh…!'

"I also told you not to get in my way. Seems like your head got a little bigger just because you helped me a little."

Nathan squeezed even further but there were no bones left to crush anymore so he let go of Vincent's wrist.

Tap.

Vincent pressed his other hand on Nathan's chest.

"No… I won't let you do… whatever is that you're going to do…"

Nathan rolled his eyes and grabbed Vincent's other wrist.

And just when he was about to squeeze, Vincent said, "It's not worth risking your life for…!"

Nathan stopped and said, "Huh?"

"I said… it's not worth risking your life for…!"

Nathan let go of Vincent's wrist and lightly slapped it away, causing Vincent to almost lose his balance.

"Hahaha~! So that's what it was? I thought you were concerned about maintaining the rules. Hahaha~!"

"That's only one of the reasons…"

"Only one of the reasons, huh. Well, it doesn't matter. What matters is, isn't that rich coming from you?"

"What…?"

"Tell me, why did you become a soldier? As far as I can remember, I don't think there was ever a time you told me that you want to become one. What happened? What influenced you to become a soldier?"

"It's not like there's a rule where you need to tell people every single plan that you thought of..."

"True. But still, isn't it ironic that you're a soldier when one of your favorite past times is betraying people, especially the one closests to you?"

Vincent became silent.

"The moment Karen and I weren't an item anymore, you lost your interest with her, right? That's why she ended up marrying someone else after I left, right?"

"Why are you even bringing this up? This is already the second time you brought up this issue tonight and it has nothing to do with the current issue. It just shows that you still haven't forgiven me after all these years."

"No, no, no. Don't try to reverse this. We're talking about you right now, not me. You and I know each other very well. When it comes to women, you like them when they're a challenge. But that's beside the point. The main point here is, not only you've become a soldier, but you also want to pretend to be this noble person who's soooooo concerned about the well-being of others that you would even risk your own life. Who are you trying to fool? What are you trying to prove?"

"That's --"

Nathan rolled his eyes, grabbed him by his collar and pulled him close to him.

"If you want to be useful to me, just stand in front of Tyler's door and don't do anything."

He pushed him away and continued heading to Fatty and Tubby.

Vincent didn't say anything and just followed.

'No matter what, it's still too early to kill a soldier. And plus, too many people know I was with him…' Nathan thought.

Although Fatty and Tubby didn't hear Nathan and Vincent's conversation clearly because of the distance, they saw everything.

And now that he was coming towards them, they immediately became alert and looked like they were ready for battle and secretly readied their weapons from behind.

After all, they experienced firsthand his strength just a while ago.

Nathan got in front of them.

"I forgot to mention something else to Aena. Let me pass."

Nathan could see that the duo were on high alert, but much to his surprise, they didn't attack him.

In truth, the only reason they didn't dare to strike first was because they saw that Nathan was crazy enough to strike an office soldier in public and within the grounds of Fort Yano.

Even they wouldn't do that, because they were well aware that the most influential organization in Fort Yano at the moment was the military.

And what's even crazier, the soldier didn't fight back.

As far as they were concerned, anyone who has the guts to do such a thing must be someone very influential.

"Are you going to let me pass or do I have to throw one of you out of the balcony again? Or perhaps both of you this time?"

Fatty kept his eyes on Nathan.

Tubby, on the other hand, proceeded to open the door.

And just when Tubby grabbed the doorknob, Nathan suddenly summoned a [Grade D] Dagger.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Before they were able to react, especially Tubby, Nathan chopped off Fatty's head and then grabbed Tubby before chopping off his head as well.

He then quickly absorbed their bodies into his [Artifact] Gold Spatial Finger, leaving only bloodstains on the wall and floor.

Wooo!

He flicked the dagger to remove the stains before looking around if anyone nearby saw him.

Putting aside Vincent's shocked expression, there were also two other people, a man and a woman, on the other building looking in their direction.

But after noticing that Nathan and Vincent were looking at them, they looked away, deciding not to be part of whatever was going on.

Nathan turned to Vincent.

"I did tell you to leave too many times," he said with a smile.

Vincent stared at Nathan's bloodstained face, clothes and dagger.

He couldn't help but notice the relaxed and smiling expression on his face.

There was no hint of remorse at all.

If not for the fact he just saw Nathan killed two men with such precision and expression, he wouldn't have suspected that he just murdered someone.

He recalled what Young told him earlier.

'This isn't the same Nathan I know from the past…'

"What, you want to join them?" said Nathan.

"Are you crazy?!" said Vincent.

Nathan smiled and then held the tip of his dagger on Vincent's left cheek.

Sliii…

He pressed the tip and began slowly carving down, slicing open Vincent's skin and causing blood to start coming out and running down his left cheek.

"Why are you still wasting your time talking?"

He continued running the blade on Vincent's face but Vincent just stared into his eyes in silence.

"I'm waiting, Mr. Captain."

Sliii…

The tip of the dagger was getting close to Vincent's lips.

But Vincent's reaction was still the same.

Sss…

The tip of the dagger finally reach the corner of Vincent's lips.

Nathan stopped and pulled the dagger away.

"This is boring."

Vincent just continued staring into Nathan's eyes.

"Just stand guard here if you're just going to be a bore," said Nathan.

Ka-cha!

He opened the door to Tyler's room.

And just like from earlier, he was greeted with loud rap music, a red light, smoke and a weird smell.
