18 The Princess

I had left the slave army camp, well, it doesn't really look like a camp now that I look back at it. It looks more like a thriving town with big walls. The laborer slaves and the new batch of people were really determined to building something like a city from the grounds up. They even managed to build a working gate that can be lifted and lowered, it even seems like they are planning on making a moat around the city. All of that has been achieved in three months by the very same people. Me, Netis, Kebin and Isao contributed little to this, I would say the only thing I did was give them a few blueprints.

"It's amazing and all, but I have a duty to do" I mumbled to myself, I then snapped my fingers and disappeared off the ground. I learned this little trick by a spell book I found in a boss reward chamber. It really went well with my 'Creation' since I am able to learn any type of aptitude, so books are extremely valuable to me. The book itself was a book about wind magic, so as you can guess, I am currently flying.

It is a neat little trick, but there is a big problem with it. I can't go downwards, whenever I try to go downwards I always end up going straight down smashing into the ground. However, despite this, I managed to find a way to use it effectively. It's pretty simple actually, when you want to brake or go down simply activate the magic the opposite way of where you are going! It sounds dumb, but it actually works! If you start going straight down just activate the magic upwards! Let me show you!

I start going down really fast and shouted the spell name "FLY!" I could feel the wind clash against my momentum, slowly but surely slowing me down. However, the wind wasn't powerful enough, so I crashed into the ground anyways.

I got up from the ground, luckily, I didn't leave any marks after the landing. I had landed just outside the capital, and to my surprise, I landed behind the capital. It was very convenient since Raz had left an opening for me behind this big city. It saves me a lot of time.

I started walking towards the secret entrance she prepared for me. The entrance was pretty simple, it was basically a door just covered up by stones and trees. When I arrived, I was greeted by a guard that showed me the way through the tunnels that was behind the simple door.

The tunnels seemed simple enough, a mechanism made to confuse people. However, the further down we went the more complicated it became. The guard led me through a lot of secret entrances that was already in a secret entrance. And it seems like the people that do maintenance here doesn't bother getting rid of the skeletons littered around the place.

After having made my way through the tunnels with my guard friend. He opened a locked door and I was greeted by a basement where Raz was waiting patiently. "You guys got through that faster than I thought you would," She said to us.

"Yes, this elf was able to keep up at all times. He was also able to perfectly read the map I was given, despite it being known as the number 1 factor for criminals to get lost in the tunnels," The guard responded. "I will stay guard outside the door to make sure no one comes and disturbs your talk,"

"Thank you, Emerick" Raz said to the guard as he left the basement.

Raz activated her 'Silent room' spell. "Now then Master, what did you want to talk about?" She asked me.

"There is something I want to discuss with you. The original plan was to attack as many cities as we could before we had to leave the country. However, with the number and skill of the warriors we have raised, 'attacking as many cities as we can' might lead to us destroying the Empire," I told her, she was obviously shocked.

"So, you want to discuss with me whether or not you should hold back?" She asked.

"Basically, yes. All the troops think we should go all out and destroy the whole thing. However, Netis, Kebin and Isao think we should think about it first,"

"Hmm, it is a difficult decision. There is no way we can truly know whether or not these people deserve it. Not to mention, if you decide to do it then someone will have to take over for the current emperor," She has a point, I can't really think of anyone that will be able to rule over an entire empire.

"Well, there are reasons to do it as well. The human empire has been known for causing trouble in almost every other country. They even tried to attack the central continent once, they didn't really get far though," Raz continued.

"You're right, I think we should ponder on it for a while. In the meantime, we'll attack the cities we already planned on attacking," I said to her.

"I think that's a good idea, can I suggest that you also take a look on how the people living in the cities. In order to get an idea of the living standards and the people's opinions," Raz suggested.

"I guess I can do that. It might help me get a clearer picture of how it is living here," I agreed with her.

"Now for the other thing I wanted to discuss. How is your campaign going?" I asked her.

"For now, it's going great. After the Knight captain was arrested, I got a lot of support from the knight's that were against slave-trade as well. That influenced a lot of other knight's, giving me the support of the whole knight order. However, the nobles are still against it," Raz explained.

"As expected, but I think the nobles might have a change of heart when the attacks start coming from our side," I said.

"Most likely," Raz said and looked outside the basement window. "It's getting late, so I think you should get back to the army base,"

"Alright, it was nice to meet you again. I guess we'll see each other soon then," I said and got up from my chair.

"Yes, I guess I'll be traveling with you soon, Master," Raz said to me as I left through the secret entrance.

"Do you need a guide through that?" Raz asked me.

"Nah, I already memorized the way through," I told her and went down into the dark tunnels.
