3 A light from the sky

I can feel the mountain breeze on my skin, it's pretty comforting, it would be even more comforting if 'he' wasn't here.

"Young master! Get down from there!" Isao is someone who one day decided to become my loyal servant. I tried to refuse, but he kept insisting. Even though having servants isn't really a dark elf custom.

Dark elves were one inch higher than the common elves. They lived longer, were stronger and were the protectors of the desert. Their appearances closely resembled elves, but their skin was dark. Some of them were as black as coal, however, I am different.

My skin is white, which made people question whether I was really a dark elf. It escalated to the point that some of them accused my mother of cheating. My father objected to this, as he wanted to believe my mother. But he was still uneasy, so he had a doctor look at it. The doctor performed surgery to check my race.

I was indeed a dark elf, but for reasons that he couldn't figure out, I was a white dark elf.

I was silently looking towards the sky, I'm only 13, I wish I weren't stuck here. It's boring to just sit around and wait until I become 15 years old. Dark elves start growing around that time, that's when they're considered 'trainable'.

As I was staring at the sky, I saw a light strike down from the heavens and down on me. I didn't feel the impact, but my brain is hurting. Memories of unknown origin are appearing inside my head, I feel dizzy. My consciousness disappeared, inside a dream, I saw a boy who looks exactly like me. The boy was asking to have control over my body. For some reason, I said yes.

"Young master! Young master! Are you awake!" Isao was shaking me awake.

Ugh, I sat up. It seems like it worked perfectly, Ailen's little machine actually worked.

"Young master, are you okay?" He asked again, looking at me, worried.

"I'm fine Isao, I just have a huge headache" It'll take time to get used to this place, and this body. But what was that light?

This body looks exactly like mine, so my memories can't have come from the stars. Doesn't matter, I'll have to make sure this body works like it should.

I took a stance and aimed at a boulder. I threw a punch at it, I managed to crush the whole boulder, along with what was behind it.

"Seems like it works like it should, my strength has slightly decreased, but I think it will return after I hit puberty. I cast a look behind me, Isao's jaw has dropped. "Close your mouth, we're going back to town.

"A-Alright! But can you tell me how you got so strong?!" Isao asked, stuttering.

"I, err, trained in secret" It was a lie, but I couldn't just tell him that I'm from a different world.

"Woah! That's so cool!" He took the bait, let's just hope he doesn't ask any more questions in the future.

We arrived at the city gate, the guards looked unsettled. So I asked what was wrong, "Did something happen?"

"Y-Yeah, there was a big light that came from the sky, and rumors are spreading that it might be a dragon's doing." The guard said, he was on high alert.

"Why would a dragon send down light on a mountain?" I asked.

"I don't know, it's probably not a dragon, I hope" The guard tries to calm himself down a little.

"Anyways, see you" I waved as I entered the town.

"Have fun" the guards waved goodbye.

We went to my house and ate dinner. My house was quite big. My dad owns a farm that brings in a lot of money and resources, so he'll probably be called in to discuss the falling light. And that means he'll be gone with no one to pay attention to what I'm doing.

I made Isao follow me into my room, "What did you want to talk about?" Isao asked.

"You see, my father is going to leave for a while, and there is something I really want to do," I whispered.

"What's that?" Isao asked confused.

"I want to go to the mountain and train" The mountain has a lot of small fry monsters like goblins and such.

"T-The mountain?!" He screamed, I could hear mom coming close, but leaving as she thought nothing of it.

"Shush, keep it down," I told him with a serious face.

"I'm sorry!" He whispered as low as he could.

"But really? Why the mountain?" Isao asked, having calmed down.

"At the back of the mountain, there are villages, monster villages" I explained.

"Village? Are you talking about the village that is rumored to be housing a Goblin king?" Isao was scared.

"Exactly that village," I said, Isao was shaking. "And you are going to be fighting the king" After I said this, Isao fainted.

"Isao, wake up!" I shouted to make Isao wake up.

"Ugh, I had a weird dream, master. I dreamt that we were climbing a mountain. How bizarre is tha-?" Isao finally came to the realization that he was, in fact climbing a mountain. "AAHHH! Why are we so high up!?"

"The cave that leads to the other side of the mountain is on top of it. There used to be a tunnel leading to the other side, that was placed more efficient, but it caved in after a swarm of monsters got through" I explained to the confused Isao.

"Oh, something like that did happen" Isao agreed. "I didn't realize, but did you carry all the way up here?"

"No, only when I had to climb, otherwise I just dragged you along," I said, Isao became silent.

"Time to destroy that village," I said when we reached the cave on top of the mountain.

"I can't say I'm excited for possibly being killed," Isao said sarcastically.

This mountain has a really bad reputation, on its back, there are monsters. Really strong ones. Most of them are Rank 3, sometimes Rank 4 monsters appear as well. There are also monster villages, the easiest one is the goblin village.

The rankings are quite easy to understand, you have Rank 1, they can be killed by common man. Rank 2 is a little trickier though, but they are no match for adventurers. Rank 3 monsters are where the real monsters are. Rank 3 is the average rank for an advanced goblin, goblin soldiers and such. But for a common man, a goblin soldier would mean death. I don't really know how long the list is, all I know is that there was a demigod, "the one which the ranking system is based on" is Rank 15.

"Ehm, where are we going?" Isao asked.

"To the goblin village," I answered.

"Oh, yeah, you already told me" Seemingly having remembered our conversation

"We need to level you up," I said

"But how are we going to defeat so many goblins?" Isao asked.

"I'll give you instructions when we get there," I said,

"Still, this won't be easy," Isao said

"Yep, don't worry I have your back"

"Thanks"
