1 A genius, an idiot and a well-kept secret

Prologue

I was only 5 years old when my father decided that I was to exploit my talents for academics. It all started when my beloved friend Albert told me to come with him. I walked down the big corridor which I could never stop admiring, with giant statues of my ancestors and walls with decorations more expensive than a diamond ring.

"Ubel," My father said, he was a hairy old man with white hair. He looked like a military officer with a white robe that complimented his white hair. My beloved friend Albert was sent outside, as he was sent outside, I could see him going strong, but I know Albert, he is not happy.

"Ubel," My father said again after Albert left. "Do you know why I called you here?" My father said while looking out the window.

"No I don't, father," I said.

"From now on, I am going to raise you as a leader, a leader to guide humanity," He said with a serious face. He's scary.

* * *

"Wake up Ubel" I sat up, greeting me was the beautiful maid we hired not too long ago.

"Ubel" the maid said with a condescending face.

"What?" I asked in response.

"Get dressed" as I looked down, I was dressed in only underwear with my bare chest exposed.

Right now, I'm 13 years old and I'm starting middle-school tomorrow, Raz the maid with black hair, smooth white skin and eyes deep blue like the ocean. She is truly beautiful.

She rummaged through my closet attempting to find something for me to wear in my meeting with father this morning.

Now that I think about it, when Raz was employed, I was in the middle of my studies. She came in and stared dumbfounded at me. I didn't really know why, maybe it was because I was hanging from the roof?

* * *

I didn't expect to get a job this early, and one that pays this well too. It seems I was randomly selected, according to my employer at least. However, when I see the other maids and workers, it almost seems it was a massive poll-vote. They keep saying stuff like: 'Ooh, it's the new maid' or 'I wish Cassandra had been selected instead'. Anyways, my job is to take care of the Young Master.

"This is a truly great house," I thought to myself as I walked down a gigantic hall, the hall was decorated with a lot of bizarre sculptures and inventions. I walked down the hall, admiring the works, they get better the closer you get to the end of the hall.

After a while, I ran into a blond maid. More specific, the head maid. "Ah, it's the winner- I mean it's the new maid! Nice to meet you" She came close and shook my hand.

"Are you cleaning the sculptures?" I asked her.

"Yep, these sculptures are all made by the Young Master. The inventions are as well." She said. "By the way, the name's Netis! What's yours?"

"I'm Raz" I replied.

"That's right, I almost forgot. Nice too meet'ya Raz" she said and stretched out her hand.

"Likewise, let us get along," I responded to her handshake. We continued walking down the hallway. "So, all these inventions are made by the Young Master?" I asked her.

"That's right, the Young Master is a super-genius!" Netis said.

"You seem to hold a lot of affection towards him" As I said this, she reddened a little.

"I mean, who doesn't! The young master is seriously cute! With his red eyes oh' so charming, silver-like hair and he is so small you can easily lift him!" She proclaimed.

Suddenly we heard footsteps down the hallway.

"I'm small?" A cute little boy went down the hallway. As he said this, Netis' face reddened even more. It must have been embarrassing enough to say in front of me, to think that the person himself would hear it. Luckily, he's only ten years old.

Right now, Raz is 19 years old, she was employed to be my personal maid after my father decided that having a maid closer to my age would be better for development. Though, he couldn't employ a 10-year-old maid, so he decided to get the next best option, which was a 16-year-old maid with no experience.

"Young Master, your father is waiting." Raz told me "He said there was something important he had to talk to you about."

"All right, I will go immediately," I said as I stood up and was about to exit the room but Raz stopped me for some reason.

"Put on some clothes before you leave" Wait, why am I not wearing clothes. I looked around my body.

I put on my clothes and left the room, walking down the corridor was as nerve-wracking as ever. It gets worse and worse each time you get closer to my father's room, since the statues were just getting bigger and bigger the closer you got.

Finally, I was in front of my father's room. "Come in, Ubel," My father said just as I reached the door. I walked into my father's room. "How are you feeling about starting middle school." My father asked with his hands folded.

"It's probably going to get weird since I haven't been to a school my whole life." Those were reasonable words, I hope.

"Just as I expected," my father said as he lowered his face into his hands folding grip.

"Well, we will deal with that later, now there is something I want to tell you." My father said as he stood up and walked to a map he always had in his big-office-like-boss-room. "Right here, I am going to travel tomorrow"

"What are you going to do in Finland?" I asked my father.

"Hmph, there is a man I want to meet that lives there. Don't concern yourself, it isn't someone you have met." He went back to his desk, "However, there *is* something I want to tell you" My father said.

"What is it?" I asked him.

"If you don't hear from me after 10 hours, I want you to run away. Doesn't matter where just as long It isn't close to this house!" He shouted, my father had a way with expression. I could feel the weight of a thousand heavens when speaking to him.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked.

My father stood up and walked towards me, he bent down so we were the same height. "Listen to me, closely. You have connections to things that are incredibly abnormal, and without me here... then you won't be safe anymore. And this house is the first place 'they' will look"

"Who are 'they'?" I asked.

My father went to his original position. "The people I am referring to are a group consisting of scientists, that dedicates their whole life in research of the abnormal. They will use any means possible in order to find a way to 'open the gate'. I can't tell you about the 'gate', but I'm sure you will find out sooner or later. Now, leave, I have to be off in 5 minutes and I'm not done packing my stuff."

"Goodbye, father," I said as I left the room. I walked down the hallway, and I could still hear my father sigh.

"If only he would call me 'dad' at least once. Why did it have to turn out like this?" Angus Fitzroy looked at a picture on his desk and sighed. "I'm sure he'll find out, it's not like 'the book' is hidden or something"

* * *

I was slacking around in my room when suddenly the alarm on my phone ringed. 'Only two hours to go' it said. It seems to point towards me leaving the house.

I slacked around for 1 hour and 30 minutes more, there are only 30 minutes until I'll have to leave. Now that I think about it, my father told me I could go anywhere. Does that mean I could willingly go to the scientists? It's not like I'm planning to, but, I think father must learn to set rules a little better. As there are only 30 minutes left, I might as well call Raz and Netis over. They might be able to help me escape this predicament.

Raz and Netis came into my room, "What did you call us here for?" Raz asked.

"I want to know whether Father has told you something before he left," I asked.

"Do you mean about when he told us to follow you in case you left?" Netis said.

"He did? Well, having support does help when escaping somewhere" I agreed.

"Where do you need to 'escape' to?" Raz asked. Just before I was going to answer, my phone rang. It was an unknown number. I picked up.

"Who are you," I asked the person on the other line.

"*coughs* ah, yes, hello" The man sounds like a middle-aged man, with some craziness mixed in. "Well, my name is Ailen, not to mistaken as alien. Hahaha HA!" He had a strange laughter.

"Do you know what happened to father?" I asked him

"Your father? Does he have white hair and kind of looks like a military officer?" he asked.

"Yes, he does look like that" I answered.

"Haven't seen him, though I was supposed to meet a guy who looks like that." He said. *Ding, DRR DRR* the clock hits- 21:38.

I guess I should find my things and leave. There is no point talking to strangers when a crazy scientist is on the phone

"By the way, are you perhaps leaving your house," He asked.

"Yes, what about it?" I answered him.

"I see, so it's like that" he whispered, "Are you looking for a place to go? Because if you are then I can help you with that." He said,

"And why should I trust a guy over the phone?" I asked him

"Well, I was supposed to meet with your father but since he hasn't shown up and you haven't heard from him yet. Furthermore, by doing a little research… I have found out that you are looking for a place to 'run away' to" Ailen said, how quick is this guy? We just met and it sounds like he's about to write an FBI report on me.

I stayed silent, "So I was right? And for reasons, you can trust me is… uhm I don't really have one" he said these sentences, as I was giving his offer a thought.

"Do you know anything about a certain group of mad-scientists?" I asked him.

"Is it possible you are talking about those madmen? If so, I know little about them. All I know is that we are researching the same thing and that I'm closer than any of those weirdos."

"If that's the case, can you tell me about what you are researching?" I asked.

"It's complicated, but to put it simply, I'm researching ways to transfer or reincarnate to other worlds. I only have access to one other world though, who knows, it might the only other world that exists" After Ailen explained this, I paused for a few seconds.

"Is that so, fine, I'll come with you. Not like I really have anywhere else to go. On one condition, however, you'll take my maids with you" It was all I really cared about, and maybe I'm a little interested in this 'world' of his.

"Is that all? If so, then you have a one way trip to Japan!" Ailen seemed very happy about this.

Just after he said that several men came down from the ceiling. Dressed in black military suits they carried Netis and Raz in a chopper and then a man dressed in a black suit came down from the chopper. "The boss told us to pick you up in a different aircraft," he said,

"Why?" I asked, "Also where are you taking them?"

"I don't know, I only know that the boss has prepared a better vehicle for the Young Master." He answered. Whoever this guy is, he certainly is intimidating.

After waiting for about a minute, a plane skillfully landed on my roof, the man said to follow him. After arriving at the place, the staircase came out of the aircraft as I approached it. When stepping inside I saw an old yet handsome old man sitting in a chair. The man told me to sit down on the chair in front of him.

"Hello, heard this voice before perhaps?" the old man asked with a grin. I replied with silence, "Surprised? Hello, if you weren't surprised I'm going to cry."

"I'm not surprised, it's obvious that you are using makeup to hide your wrinkles." You could see the old man clutching his chest while bending, acting like he's in grave pain.

"Can you stop pretending and tell me why you personally came to pick me up? Also how you got here so fast anyways." I asked while poking his crazy white hair.

"The reason is that I want to inform you of… something" Ailen seems nervous. "And while I may have been in Finland at the time, I sort of expected this to happen. Because of that, I had already prepared a flight here.

"Inform me of, what?" I asked. "And that reason still doesn't explain your ridiculous timing."

"OK, let's be straight. Your father, he's dead. I know this isn't that surprising, but what I wanted to tell you is that the butler that was with him is barely hanging on to life in my personal… uh, um, hospital! Yes, hospital" This guy hides too much. Is a hospital really the best thing he could think of.

"I'm happy to find out that my beloved friend is alive" I answered, still my father is my father. He played an important role in my life. I won't miss him, but I won't forget him either.

"I got to say, your way of speech is very, uh weird," He said.

"Same to you" I replied.

Ding- We could hear the sound telling us to fasten our seat-belts, the flight took a long time, around 12 hours. The plane landed gracefully, it seems like we landed in the mountains somewhere, I can't figure out where we landed. "Uhm, I have a question-"

"We have landed in Japan, exactly where we landed… let's say it's not marked on the map. Don't worry I have a way for you to go to school" He interrupted.

"I should probably tell you that we are going to be working hard. Harder and more effective than your father made you." He added, "Harder on what exactly?" I asked.

"Well, we- or you are going to be working harder on your physical training and martial techniques. As you already have the knowledge and talent you need, the only thing you lack is martial and physical training."

"By the way, do I get my own room?" I asked.

"That's what you're wondering about?" He was genuinely surprised,

"It's crucial information" priorities are important.

"Well of course, but are you sure there's nothing else you're wondering about?" It seems he expected me to ask more questions. Let's just say, he isn't the only one who can do quick research.

"Not at the moment" I answered light-hearted.
