Prologue

"Jing, do you really want to go? Just tell mom and I will make sure you don't go, that's a promise." A young woman with beautiful coal hair and sapphire eyes stared pitifully at a young man. The latter had long grey hair, with lazy purple eyes. He was taller than the women by more than a head, while also having a slender, yet muscular figure. Currently, he sat on a large bed, shirtless. His muscles were exposed, but something even more attractive was the mark on the middle of his chest. It was a tattoo that resembled a white cloud.

"Mom, c'mon, I want to go. Plus, it's a good thing if I go. Not only will I be able to get the experience I need, but I also won't be cooped up in this place." The young man, Jing, was putting on a white robe that tightly fitted around his body, yet not enough to show his muscles.

The woman looked at Jing in anger. "What do you by that? Do you want to leave your mother so bad? Hmph, go ahead then, see if I stop you. I knew you were going to leave me and your father the second you get the chance. Who knew you loved us so little?"

"Seriously…" He couldn't help but smile bitterly. He got up from his bed and picked up a blue ball that sat on his bed. Rather than a ball, it was more like a pearl. "Mom, why are you trying to blackmail me with that, you know it isn't going to work. You do it all the time." He laughed a little as he waved the pearl in front of her face. "Plus, even if I go, can't we talk through this? Every night, I will make sure to contact you and tell you about my day. Everything I experience, everything I see, and everyone I meet. How about it?"

Listening to his words, the young woman frowned a little but her expression eased up in the end. "I don't care! If you go then don't think about coming back. You're still a little kid, why do you want to go? Just because the others are going? Who cares about them, you're more precious than them, atleast to me you are." Her eyes became slightly red as she reached out her slender hand and stroked her son's face. "Can't you listen to your mom one last time? You can go later, just wait a few more years."

Hearing her words, he couldn't help but sigh deeply. "Mom, if I don't go now, then I won't get a chance later. You know the rules. Even if you could break the rules and let me get a chance later, I would be extremely behind everyone. You know how this clan is and how freakish the others are. I can't just sit around enjoying another few years when all of them are out there going through adventures."

"Fine." With a forced smile, she reluctantly agreed. "You can go, since forcing you to stay will just make you miserable. Still, if you don't contact me every night, then I will come down and drag you home by the ear." She raised her hand and twisted his ear ruthlessly.

"Ah! Fine, fine, I will, let go!" His eyes shut as the pain seeped through his body. Only a kid could understand the pain of getting their ears twisted by their mothers. After his mother let his ear go, he couldn't help but rub it with a dejected look. His ear felt a little warm too.

Seeing his expression, the woman smiled in happiness before she began to help pack his opened bag. "Ok then, let's see. You will need this… and this… can't forget your undergarments… also more shirts… Jing, you didn't pack enough!" Jing couldn't help but speechlessly watch his mother fill his bag with literally everything that was in his wooden closet.

"M-mom, you're packing too much, I can get clothes from over there as well. I'm not going to war or anything, like seriously. You need to relax." He quickly began to take some of the things out of his bursting bag.

Suddenly, he felt a tight hand grab his arm. He slowly looked over to see his mom glaring at him like a demon. "Don't. Touch. A. Thing."

His eyebrows couldn't help but twitch as he slowly let the bag go and began to take a few steps back. 'I almost died!' He couldn't help but sigh in relief when he saw his mother ignored him again and begin packing. As if escaping death, he looked at the ceiling and smiled brightly, yet also a little pitifully.

Knock Knock

"Jing, are you ready?" A deep voice came from behind him. Jing turned around and to his relief, he saw a tall man walk into his room. He also had purple eyes and long grey hair. It was his father.

"Dad." He quickly rushed towards him and began to whisper into his ear. "Dad, mom is really mad, just take me away from here. Also, don't mention me going away too much right now, or you'll be the next victim. Trust me."

He took a step back and quickly moved behind his dad. The man couldn't help but nod towards his son and then looked back at the silent woman fearfully.

"D-dear, are you alright?" He walked forward slowly as if trying to approach an angered cat.

"Screw off! You caused this mess!" Astonishingly, the woman pulled a sword out of nowhere and began to swing towards her husband.

"Shit!" Jing saw this and his face paled. He quickly escaped from the room but didn't forget to tearfully look at his pale father. "I will see you in my next life father, thank you for everything."

"You brat!" The man became angry as he dodged his wife, but he didn't dare to fight back. "Dear, calm down."

"Calm?! Jing is going to leave for years and you want me to calm down? Screw off!" SHe continuously swung her sword causing the man to feel his back become sweaty.

'Jing, wait till this is over, I will strip you naked and make you stand in front of everyone!' He couldn't help but feel angry at his son for leaving him in such a position. "Alright, I'm sorry, it's my fault. Is that good enough?"

The woman stopped swinging her sword and actually began to calm down. She looked at her husband who stood further away and gestured him to come towards her.

"No, you're going to kick me." He waved his hand and moved further back.

"I won't, just come here." She smiled gently which actually had the opposite.

"Screw that, I'm out of here." The man quickly vanished from the room, leaving the woman grumbling.

"What a wimp, can't believe he's actually my husband. Hmph." She turned around and continued to pack for her son.

"Dad, is everything already set up?" Jing sat peacefully on a chair beside a lake. His dad calmly sat across from him.

"Yea, your residence and everything is good. But again, are you sure you want that manual, Jing? We have better ones, much better ones. Not even us, anyone could get a better manual than the one you chose. Even a beggar from the streets can obtain a better manual than the one you chose." His father sighed and looked at him with a serious expression.

"Dad, I'm set on that one. That last time anyone even tried to get to the top with that manual was when the first Original Beings created it. No one tired ever since--"

"Because better ones are out there. That may be the very first manual that covers the very basics of cultivation, but that doesn't mean it's good in any way. If anything, it's the worse cultivation manual out there. It literally on lets one meet the very minimum requirement for each realm." He tried to persuade his son a little more. "Jing, why don't you use the clan's main manual? Not only will the process be faster, but you will also be stronger than your peers, plus it works well with your bloodline ability. If you use that manual, other then a bit of transportation, your bloodline ability will become useless."

"No dad, I want to use that manual. I know what I want to do with my path. Plus, the basic manual may be worse, but it still leads to the top, right? So in the end, there isn't much of a loss." He spoke calmly as he gazed at the fish swimming in the lake.

"So? Even if it can help you reach the top, do you really think it will be easy? If it was so easy, the countless people who failed would have done it. Plus, other than the first Original Beings who were already born into the peak of cultivation, everyone else who reached a similar realm did it with better and more efficient manuals. No one, I repeat, no one has done it with that manual." Seeing his son's expression staying firm and not changing in a bit, he took a deep breath before letting it out. "Alright, if you really want to do it, It's not like I can stop you, but keep in mind. If you don't become an Internal World realm cultivator within a hundred years, I will force you to change to a better manual, do you understand, Yuan Jing. This is not a matter that is up for debate." Yuan Jing looked at his father and nodded with a smile.

"No problem. Have trust in me dad, did I ever let you down?" The second he asked this, he completely regretted it.

"You rejected that marriage proposal with the girl from the Liu clan. Even though I and your mother were constantly saying to do it." Father Yuan grumbled as he looked at his son.

Yuan Jing shook his head before getting up from his chair. "I'm going to grab my bag from mom now. Send me to that place after. I don't know when I will see you guys next if I ever do, but I will keep in touch."

"Hmph, if I'm still alive, you better not dare get yourself killed, or I will beat your corpse to death myself." Although his words didn't make sense. To any child, these words from their parents made them fear to die without permission.

He quickly ran away and arrived in his room. He found that there were no bags and only his mom silently sitting on his bed. "Mom?" He walked over and sat beside her. They were both silents for a bit before his mom passed him a black ring.

"Your bags are here and I also prepared some food inside." He smiled gently at his mother as he received the ring. "Also, don't think I won't be sending you home-cooked meals every night myself. I don't care what those old coots say, as your mother, I can send you whatever I want. If you want to play adventure, go ahead, but I will do what I want as well."

"Yes, yes, I will make sure to eat it all." He smiled bitterly but his heartfelt warm. He reached out and hugged his mom and kissed his head. "Don't worry mom, I will be back before you know it. Just like you and dad, I will become an immortal and be able to live forever with both of you."

"If you don't become immortal, I will beat you dead, got it?" She glared him with her tearful eyes and he couldn't help but laugh lightly.

"I promise. For you, mother, I'm willing to do anything." He spoke heroically but his face suddenly twisted into one of pain. He looked down and saw his mom pinching his arm.

"Then, when you come back, why don't we set up that marriage with the Liu girl? She is pretty, has good talent, and also seems to like you a little too. Well, who wouldn't like my son?" She looked at him dotingly as she smiled brightly.

His face became stiff when she mentioned the Liu girl. "We'll see, we'll see. Alright, mom, I'm going to head out." He got up and then walked towards his father who was standing by his door quietly. No one knew when he came, but he was there waiting silently.

"Be safe. Don't start doing weird things or I will slap you in front of everyone. Also, don't hang around the wrong people. Also, make sure you stay away from girls, or else I will drag you home and make you marry that Liu girl. Oh, and eat everything I send…" She went on and on, but Jing didn't stop her. She then tiptoed and gave him a big kiss on his cheek. Her eyes were red as she rubbed his cheek. "Every night, you better not forget."

"I won't." He smiled and walked in front of his dad who calmly gazed at him.

"Be safe, Jing." With a wave of his hand, Yuan Jing disappeared from the room.

A new book, a different style, but a little excited. I've been thinking about this book for a while now and have finally started it. I won't be dropping Snake Reincarnation, just going to continue with it's slow and snail-like updates ;)
