13 Astrolabe

Jan looked funky with a red coil on top of his head eliciting smiles from Fr. Robert, Evan, Yuri, Suzy, and Josh. Until now, they had not taken him seriously.

"I'll give you guys a run for your money. I have already read the past and the future."

He held a bronze round instrument in his hand that looked like a compass. It was an astrolabe, used to reckon time and the position of stars. He lifted up the object for all to see. "This is an astrolabe used by ancient astrologers. It holds the secret to the past and the future."

Everybody almost laughed.

"I can forgive your ignorance, but you have to believe the news that I will break out to you," he said with his right eyebrow raised.

All of them looked dumbfounded as he got their attention.

"The spirit of Tatin resides in Aaron at this present age. Isabella was Isabella, and baby Michael was a warrior alongside Isabella. I was looking at another figure of a man who looked exactly like me. Wait, I heard somebody called me Apollo, and Fr. Robert, Lucas, and Suzy—somebody called her Andrea. Wait again. I saw somebody called Josh, Gabriel, and Evan and Yuri, James and Andrew. Oops! Somebody called Ms. Talia, Julia, and Amalia, Aunt Teresa."

What he announced drew a guffaw from the group, each tried to dish out his and her own funny tale so that everyone giggled more. Josh, the clairvoyant, was smiling
