Lucy POV

"Lucy! You're doing it wrong! Here, let me show you where to place the piece!"

Levy and I sat at one of the tables in the guild as she scolded me when I incorrectly set up the board game pieces.

Fairy Tail's guildhall was hustling and bustling, loud and destructive as ever.

Gray and Natsu were butting heads again, Cana resumed her usual streak of booze and Loki continued his flirts. Elfman had gone around, starting fights in the name of his manhood.

However, for some strange reason, when the sound of multiple crows cawing outside the guild was heard, a majority of the older veteran members and the members listed above immediately quiet down and gazed towards the door apprehensively.

The flock of crows and their loud cawing can be seen flying towards the guild front door.

I was confused and slightly scared. Why was everyone so quiet? Is this a bad sign?

I tapped Levy on the shoulder to shake her out of her dreamy look towards the door.

"Hey! What's gotten into you! Why is the whole guild silent all of a sudden?"

"Ah, ahem. Right, sorry. Yes, Lucy. The caw of the crows indicates the return of Itachi from one of his missions."

Itachi? Who was that?

Seeing my confused look, Levy continued her explanation.

"You might better know him has Fairy Tail's Elusive Eyes."

I gasped in shock.

"So Itachi was him! One of Fairy Tail's strongest if not THE strongest member! It's said that whoever gazes into his eyes will have fallen into illusion magic without their knowledge and could lose the battle before it even has begun!"

Levy nodded and added on.

"That's not all there is to it, he can also-"

And before she could continue, the flock of crows immediately burst through the doors, circling above the guildhall.

The loud cawing and the fluttering of the crows and their feathers made a hypnotic scene.

The crows' formation slowly circled deep into the second floor.

Everyone stared up at the crows in awe.

After a while, the fluttering of the crows and the cawing came to silence.

"Woah... Are they gone? Just like that?" I muttered in shock.

"-He... can also turn into crows," Levy said in a daze.

I turned to look at her stupefied.

"Seriously? Turn into crows? What kind of transformation magic is that?"

She looked at me and shrugged, indicating that that was something that Levy, a bookworm didn't know of. That was surprising, for real.

After the sudden appearance and disappearance of the crows, my guildmates looked at each other and whispered in small voices. Natsu and Gray seemed to have seen a ghost!

"Itachi is back, what kind of quest did he complete this time?"

"I don't know but it's definitely an S-Class quest! That was his 4th one this year!"

Someone then asked Master Makarov,

"Third Master, do you have a clue?"

The short but powerful old man closed his eyes and said with confidence,

"SS-Class quest, extermination. Success."

Hearing what the Master said, there were a few awed voices.

"SS-Class quest again? Man, what a guy. He doesn't even bother with the regular S-Class jobs anymore! That's his third in a row!" said Gray in admiration.

"Wow! I bet Itachi just looked at the demon and it died!" said Natsu, clearly fired up.

"Aye!"

"He can also *hic* drink a lot, Lucy..." Cana said intoxicated.

"Did you know that one time-"

The conversations about the man in question were immediately silenced when footsteps were heard from above.

The footsteps slowly approached the front of the balcony. And there he was. One of the most powerful magicians in Fiore.

He had onyx eyes, under which were long, pronounced tear-troughs. He had jet-black hair that was pulled back in a low ponytail and his face was framed with center-parted bangs that extended to his chin.

A very, handsome man. And the design of his cloak further improved his unique and mysterious visage.

But his gaze was cold.

Master Makarov looked up towards Itachi and nodded towards him.

"Good luck, Itachi."

He looked down at Third Master and his gaze softened a bit.

"I'm off," he said in a deep, mysterious voice.

And just as baffling as his appearance, his disappearance was just as so.

He spread his gaze across the many members of Fairy Tail, nodded in greetings, and then burst into crows.

The crows spread in all directions of the building, flying far enough to where it looked like they might collide with the walls but before they could, they seemed to have phased out of existence.

Was he... really ever... here...?
