3 Ch. 2

Cole's POV. (still 5 years old)

I went back to the kitchen to have some food for my dinner because I skipped my lunch which I always do.

I saw my nanny holding a tray of food.

"Nanny! you're back!" I said happily

"Of course I'm back, I missed you too much that it's hard for me to stay out for too long" She joke while wiping the invisible tears hahaha.

"Whats for dinner?" I ask with my eyes shining with expectation

"I got this in a cafe outside! the cafe is closing and gave a me a discount for this tiny cakes~!"

"Cakes? Is that food?" I asked. This is my first time hearing it

"Of course it is! It sweet and yummy~" She said and show me the tray where I can see cute foods! It resembles the food that my siblings are eating. this is my first time eating it!

I was about to grab one when I heard my father shouting.

"Cole! Where are you?!" He shouted with anger

I look at nanny and it gave me a 'I'll put this into your room, now go to your father' look

I went to my father with a frighten look.

"Who told you to go to the library today?!" he asked

"Uummh.. I went there to study as always.." I said quietly

" But I've already told the maids to make sure you won't go there today. We have a very special guest today tsk! and His highness Dalton and his son saw you and ask who you are. Of course I told them that you are my son."

Somehow I felt happy knowing he introduced me to someone as his son..

"Now someone knows that I have another son tsk tsk. Tomorrow you are coming with me since they asked for my whole family's presence at their party tomorrow. MAIDS! Go out and get this child a fresh set of clothes for tomorrow!" He commands one of our maids.

I got excited and scared at the same time.. I don't know if its a good thing or not but one thing is for sure. This will be my first time going outside.

After a serious talk with my father earlier, I went back to my room where I can see a cake in my bedside table. I immediately went for it and took a large bite.

"Uwah.." Speechless

Its too good to be true! nanny's right! its sweet and yummy! I took some more and sit on the floor while reviewing my books. I don't really do much so I mostly study, I'm kinda scared for tomorrow since I don't really know how to act when I go outside since I never did. I heard a knock and I saw nanny walking in.

"Young master Cole.." She called and she also sound sad "I heard that you are going outside"

"yupp! Father said he is bringing me along with everyone tomorrow!"-Cole

"Yes.. I heard. You are going outside. A party actually.."-Nanny

"I heard about it from father! He said the guest earlier invite him"-Cole

"Cole.. listen to me. The guest earlier was not an ordinary guest.. It's actually the ruler of our Kingdom" She slowly explain to me which shook me.

"What?! really?!"

"It's actually the king and his son. The crown prince."

Wow.. an actual prince! I only heard of them in my classes, I never actually thought I would see them! and to actually go to their party! I feel so honored..

Without realizing, another maid walk in

"Come with me, we need to take your measures for the clothes you're going to wear for tomorrow's party" The maid sternly said. I nod and look at my nanny with a 'I have to go now' look which she nod.

I follow the maid into sa room where other maids are waiting for me. It took half an hour to take my measurement and after taking it I was called into the dining area to meet my father.

As I went to the dining area I saw the maid preparing the dinner in the table where I can see my father

"Cole" he called

"yes father?"

"Sit down and have dinner with us tonight.." he said which actually surprise me! since I never had the chance to eat with them! and eat proper food..

I saw a vacant seat with plates on my father's left side since my siblings and mother are on the right side. I went and seat there.

"So Cole-" my father start but suddenly cut off by my step mom

"Oscar! Why would you make this filthy child eat with us?!" She shouted

"Shut up Mary! there is an important matter we need to discuss for tomorrow! you know how important it is for us and specially for Denise!"

I don't actually know what they are talking about..

My step mom stay quiet after the short argument

"Mary we need to make an expression for tomorrow's party. I'm planning to take that opportunity for Denise"

"And why is that?"My step mom ask

"I know Denise actually like the crown prince. Imagine them being engage! We will be part of the royal family and as Denise father isn't my duty to help my daughter?"

My step mom's eyes brighten as she heard my father's words.

"And why do we need the bastard to be here?"

"Since I promise the king that we are all coming, including him. It's actually useful to me. I can introduce him into some merchant's daughters that might be looking for a marriage opportunity! Merchants are good for our business"

I silently listen.. its not that I can do anything about it.

"Hmmp! who would like a sissy looking child! He looks much more of a girl than a boy" My stepmom point out

"It's not like that's the actual purpose of him. We just need time to think some more" My father said as he started to slice his medium rare steak.

I silently eat my food 'I mean savor it' I focus my attention into my food and ignore my siblings stares..
