Suspension

Vivian's jaw dropped.

This…

This body was married and had children…?!

An image of herself getting pressed down by a faceless man made her want to vomit so she closed her mouth and turned away.

Robert raised an eyebrow.

Vivian stared blankly at the floor -- her face was pale as a ghost and her eyes wide.

So this body is not a virgin…?!

S-S-Someone actually shoved their member inside this body…?!'

She suddenly felt weak and was about to fall to the floor but she managed not to.

"I want…"

"I want my real body back…"

"I'm sorry for reminding you of such a painful memory," said Robert.

Hearing Robert's voice, Vivian raised her head and glared at him.

But before Vivian could utter a word, he spoke first as he put down the paper.

"But what I'm really curious about is how is it possible that in a matter of 2 months you managed to grow from being a complete beginner to being able to defeat 2 Gold II Rank adventurers."

Vivian calmed herself and closed her eyes for a moment before opening them.

"It's because I'm a Priest and I work very, very hard unlike 99% of people who believe in something as pathetic called work-life balance," Vivian answered with a matter-of-fact tone. "Also, I will admit, I kill 15-20 monsters a day. But I didn't think that killing that much would lead me to be accused of overhunting."

This time around, it was Robert who didn't say anything and simply stared at her.

"So what is it? Are you going to strip me of my adventurer license?"

In Vivian's mind, although doesn't want to put all of her eggs in one basket, now that she got promoted into a White Cloak and her identity as a Priest gives her more status and money, she can now afford to lose her identity as an adventurer and pursue other streams of income.

And plus, the way she sees it, as long as she continues to keep up the grind, after one year, she's confident that she will be one of the most powerful beings in this world or at the very least, in this continent and she could do whatever she wanted.

A smile appeared on Robert's face.

"You only kill 15-20 monsters a day?"

Vivian didn't bother to reply and just stared at him with an emotionless expression.

"I'm not going to strip your license away. However, I'm going to suspend you for 2 weeks because you violated one of the rules of the guild -- committing any sort of violence within the Adventurer's Guild building."

"I see. Anything else?"

"That will be all."

Vivian got up from her seat.

"Thank you for your time, Guild Master. But I must leave now and perform my other duties as a Priest," Vivian said and then turned to Shay, "Especially catching HERETICS."

Shay smiled.

"Do call me whenever you need help in catching one, Priestess."

Vivian let out a snort before turning away and then exiting the room.

With it was only the two of them left, Robert looked at Shay.

"What do you think?"

"At the very least, her strength is at least Platinum I Rank," Shay replied.

"Mine didn't trigger."

Robert and Shay were actually part of the Temple of Hunters and had the Class Magic skill [Danger Sense].

Although this skill can be considered "powerful" because it warns the owner of the of the skill if the target is dangerous, it had some flaws.

Firstly, although passive, it will only activate if the other party or target is sizing up the owner of the skill.

Secondly, the effect solely depends on the overall strength of the owner. So if the target is at the very least as strong as the owner and is sizing up the owner, the skill will activate. On the other hand, if the target is weaker compared to the owner and is sizing up the owner, the skill won't activate.

And lastly, the biggest flaw of this skill: Assuming that the skill does activate because the target is at least as strong as the owner, it doesn't exactly tell by how much. It was anyone's guess if the target is as strong as the owner, a bit stronger than the owner, or way stronger than the owner.

This was why Shay was antagonizing Vivian earlier in order to bait her to size him up.

Meanwhile, for Robert, given that he was a Guild Master, only a handful of individuals could match his strength so it was pointless.

The Guild Master let out a sigh and massaged his temples.

"This is giving me a headache."

If he were to be honest, he had no idea how to deal with Vivian.

She had no past criminal record aside from the ones she was currently accused of, she was a Copper I Rank adventurer, and according to the report, she was a Brown Cloak but appeared to be a White Cloak today. On top of that, she has the power of a Platinum I Rank adventure or someone who could easily defeat two Gold Rank adventurers in the blink of an eye.

Basically, she was an anomaly.

"Was she really a Brown Cloak yesterday?" asked Robert.

Shay looked at him with a deadpan expression.

He couldn't answer such a question because he was technically "half-retired" and was currently living as a civilian. The only reason he came here today was because Robert asked him to in order to use [Danger Sense] on Vivian.

"I have to launch an investigation on how the Temple of Priests treats her..." Robert said and then sighed once again. "If only she wasn't a Priest, this would've been much easier to deal with."

Even he knew that at the Temple of Priests, a person who has the strength of a Platinum I Rank adventurer would be treated well. And if they find out that a member of theirs managed to grow from Copper I strength to Platinum I strength within 2 months, they would no doubt treasure that member.

"Guild Master, what should we do?" asked Shay.

Robert turned to him.

"Don't you find it strange?"

"About what?"

"Even though she has that much strength, she still tries to hide it. Why is that?"

Shay thought about it for a moment.

"I can only think of one possibility: She has something that is boosting her strength. But whether it's an item or something like a Lore Magic, I don't know."

"Most likely."

"And now you want me to launch an investigation with that angle, right?"

Robert let out a hearty laugh.

"Actually, I want you to form a team and launch an investigation on every angle about her but keep it discreet. Limit the number of people involved, I want the best of the best, but only those who can keep their mouths shut. And if we could find out the real reason for her explosive growth, depending on the situation and given that she only recently became a Priest and a White Cloak, maybe we could still sway her to our side."

"Guild Master, isn't the Adventurer Guild not allowed to meddle in politics?"

"The Temple of Priests already holds too much power. In addition to that, wouldn't it be more beneficial for everyone if she joins another Temple and becomes a neutral force by sticking with the Adventurer's Guild?"

"But --"

"The last thing we need is another Platinum-strength Priest who thinks humans must be the master race while the rest should be under them."

"I understand, Guild Master. But if your goal is to steal her away from the Temple of Priests, why did you suspend her? Shouldn't we bribe her instead?"

"Shay, you do realize that the things she has done were already enough for her to lose her license, right? If I didn't punish her, it would spell a lot of disaster."

"Oh…"

"Please call Pana. I wish to speak with her."

According to the report on his hand, Pana and Vivian were friends or at the very least can be considered acquaintances.

Vivian stepped out of the Adventurer's Building.

Her face was as calm as she continued walking down the street.

But when she finally reached a corner a couple of meters away from the Adventurer's Building and there was no one nearby, her face suddenly twisted.

She grabbed the Copper I Rank around her neck and ripped it out.

She wanted to throw the pendant away but stopped herself.

She gripped it tightly instead and it started to bend.
