Chapter One; "Our Miss is Missing"
#Author’s P.O.V.
As she was staring through the carriage's window she was lost in her thoughts and her face was getting blended with jumbled feelings. While she was implanted in her world, she sensed a gentle touch on her shoulder.
“...-ster, sister! Are you okay?” Arwen asked with a concerned face.
“Huh, what’s wrong Arwen?” She asked confused.
“We have reached our destination. Sister, are you feeling unwell, are you still shaken by what happened earlier?”
“Oh nononono, I’m fine don’t worry.” She answered baffled while swinging her hands.
“Are you sure? You had been spacing out the whole time furthermore, your face is pale as a ghost”
“*Gasp* Oh, no! You had discovered my identity!! Unfortunately, I need to eat you to keep my secret!” She said while opening her
mouth and pointing her claws like a kitten.
Following her words, Layna grasped her dress and started sprinting after her brother who bolted out of the carriage.
“Oh my God!!! Layna is going to eat meee!!”
“Come here you little punk!! Just wait till I catch you, you will be dead meat my then!”
"In your dreams! A Levi-say never gives up, we only welcome victory!!"
(A/N: "Levi-say" is his surname which means "dear victory")
When they neared the gate, Layna tackled the little bun who was running away, and they both dropped on the grass accompanied by giggles.
"RAYLAYNA LEVISAY!!!!! Is this how a lady-like manner is? Do you consider yourself a noble with these behaviors?!" a stern voice inquired harshly.
"Oh it's you nanny, I'm just playing with my little brother. No need to question my nobility and let's not talk about who has a higher
noble's status here."
"Humph, you ungrateful creature!" She scolded with an angered-red face while stomping away.
#Layna P.O.V.
'Camilla Cornwall'; is the name of my so-called nanny. She is Cornwall's countess, who was appointed by the emperor himself, that's why she's full of herself.
I directed the butler to send my brother to his room and headed towards my room feeling completely worn off.
I pulled the golden rope, a soft bell sounded followed by swift steps and my maidservant entered my room.
"Yes, milady"
"Florida, prepare my bath and tell secretary Allen to prepare only the papers that are in dire need to be signed"
"As you wish, young miss" Florida bowed politely and left.
While I was soaking in the bathtub, memories from yesterday started leaking into my head…

#Author’s P.O.V.
*Knock**Knock*
“Wake up miss, you had been sleeping for a while. Pardon my behavior but I’m going in to check on you since it’s been a while and you hadn’t responded!”
After finishing her sentence Florida entered the room, to her surprise there was no one in the room.

“Butler Alberto, the young lady is missing!!” Florida exclaimed as soon as she neared Alberto’s side while panting heavily.
“What do you mean by missing?! Go call the knight and send them to find the miss!” Alberto ordered the servant who was beside him.
Chaos filled the mansion with knights and servants searching desperately for their lost miss. While in a small both this lost miss was filling her mouth with various kinds of sweets peacefully.
"Alright, time to complete my mission " She wiped her hands and mouth with a napkin and started getting ready to leave.
Then all of a sudden a little shadow pass her quickly snatching her purse, which she fished out from her pocket to pay the bill, and started heading to get outside the both.
"Thief!! Please someone catch the thief he stole my purse!!"
Due to her sudden shout, some of the bystander's men blocked this young boy's way and fixed him on the ground.
"Miss we caught him "One of them spoke to Layna while giving back her purse.
"Uh, thank you for your help gentlemen"
"What shall we do with this boy? Do you want us to beat him so he will not do it again?" Another man spoke while glancing evilly towards the young boy.
"No need for such a cruel way to deal with a young child! I'll take him to an orphan thank you for your help, now you can return to your work" Layna replied in a stern voice and she freed the child from them.
"Are you okay? Why did you steal my purse are you hungry??" She asked in concern while she studied his well-being. He was skinny with torn clothes with scratch marks all over his body, even his legs were bandaged.
Layna felt sad for such a child for having a difficult time within her territory.
'I'm a terrible landlord for letting such a small child suffer like this!'
She softly held his small held within her hand, then moved back to where she was sitting and ordered various types of food for him.
The boy stayed quiet for a while, and when the food started piling in front of him he opened his mouth while questioning her behavior.
"Why are you being nice to me? I stole your purse you don't remember that?"
"Yeah you did, that's because you’re hungry. Now stop asking mean less questions and start eating before your food gets cold." Layna answered calmly while smiling sweetly.
The boy started eating slowly while taking glances towards Layna, who was wearing a black cloak to cover bright pink hair, with only her eye-catching heterochromia's eyes that were visible, composed of emerald and cyan color.
(A/N: Heterochromia: a condition when a person has different colored eyes or eyes that have more than one color, in our case Layna has two different eye colors)
After he devoured the food like a small cute beast, Layna stood and extended her hand for him.
"Now that's your done, shall I bring you to the orphan? There you will meet many kids your age and you get yummy food" She started convincing him sweetly.
"Uh..... Big sister, could you do me a favor?" He asked slowly.
"What kind of favor?" She wondered.
"My younger sister is sick and I don't want to go alone without her"
"Oh, so the food you hid earlier was for your little sister how cute!" She squealed at this adorable kid.
"Y-you saw me!" He stuttered while his ears turned red and his answer was just a small smile from Layna.
"Now shall we go and get your sister?"
They existed the both and started walking toward the end of the street with the little boy guiding the way.
After a while, they arrived at a deserted alley, just when she was about to question the boy about his sister's location. A dark shadow lurked from behind, and several men appeared at the front.
Layna quickly took hold of the child and hide him between her arms.
"Who are you? Why are you blo-" She wasn't able to complete her sentence because the men at the back get hold of her.
"Little one go run away and ask for help from the knights! "
"HAHAHAHA!! Well done little one you got us a funny prey " One of the men laughed evilly.
"Wh-what do you mean by that?!"
"You still don't get it? He works for us, now enough playing let's go"
As soon as he finished his words a piece of wet cloth was placed on her face and darkness enveloped her.
