8 The plot and understanding myself.

"Feelings. As far as I am concerned, are one of the key's to understanding the human race and myself."

"And yet, so many people disagree with this point of view. They think emotions cloud the ability to think, and disable us humans from reaching our true potential." G_1 sagely replies.

"True, however, it is obvious they are important, as they make up such a large portion of our lives. They quite often give meaning to our lives, and people who have trouble feeling emotions often have trouble convincing themselves to continue on living." agreed G_0.

"Even we ourselves' found this exact same problem when we were around 12. We came up with an actual reason to live to solve our existential crisis at the time. And that was as long as we could experience as many different things as possible, with as many different emotions as possible, we would be succeeding in life to some degree. But since we weren't feeling much emotion at the time, things just got worse instead of better." offered G_0.

"Fine, reasonable. That makes sense. Here is the thing though, we have already argued over this again and again, and the final conclusion is that everyone else is wrong, and to solve our main problems, we must learn about our emotions." G_2 said to quieten 'everyone'.

"I am kind of curious though, what is the system's point of view on emotions?" Curiously asks G_3.

[The system is not sentient. It does not have a point of view. However, based on the system's current 'database', a soul is an intangible object that continuously generates Ep by undergoing some form of experience, before letting this Ep go away uselessly.]

[Emotions are merely another experience that souls have, as are thoughts and imagination. The fact that souls can think and feel is the reason Ep is created.]

"Yes, but are these thoughts and feelings the core concept behind the soul?"

[No. They are just the way in which the brain communicates with the soul.]

"Then what is the core of the soul??"

[The system does not know. If the system knew, it would become a soul. Most likely anyway.]

"Oh. Well, I'll make sure to figure it out then! Then you can use your abilities for yourself!"

[Ep + 0.99]

"AHHH, you know how in books and movies, when people get a system, something really exciting normally happens, and they gain a bunch of different benefits, and a bunch of different problems?" bored out of his mind, G_0 said this.

"Yep. Of course, I am aware of this. However, we live in a rather peaceful town, where nothing too big ever happens. And we are barely even capable of utilizing the system since it costs so much to get anything from it. I mean, there is no actual method to speed Ep collection up, is there..."

"Well, that could be quite a good reason to gain emotional intelligence like we were talking about earlier. If we can feel something towards a situation, then we would gain more Ep from it, than if we were to just analyze it. We might be able to double or triple our current earning rate of a little over 100 Ep a day!" excitedly said G_3.

"Wait. That brings something else to mind. If people are constantly releasing Ep from their emotions and thoughts; if we were closer to people, wouldn't we constantly gain Ep from them?"

I know that the system can only collect Ep from my own soul, but surely there is a way to also gain some from other souls as well?

Could we create something like a bridge between two souls, and just take extra Ep from the connected soul, before it leaves said soul?

[That is possible, however, it would cost a lot of Ep, and might potentially go very bad for the host, as the system could be taken by something else during this time, or damaged by something else.]

"Explain how and why."

[The system would have to use itself as the bridge. Ep is in no way stable enough for this to last long without the system being there, so the system would have to constantly support it. And so the system would end up being at some risk of being taken by another being the entire time.]

"Another being? What do you mean??"

[There are more than just systems' and souls', host. Or at least, it would be better to make sure, just in case. This thought had been made in the subconscious of the host, although the conscious host was yet to think it.]

[The system merely brought it up a little early to answer one of the host's question's.]

"And now I am curious. What kind of beings might they be?" wondered G_1.

"Oooh, how about a soul that can utilize Ep, that uses said Ep to randomly upgrade the body they are in? Or maybe upgrade their own soul, becoming a ghost-like lifeform where they don't need a physical body to continue existing?" quickly mentioned G_3.

"Or, how about a parasite of sort's, that attaches itself to a person, and uses the Ep naturally released, to grow more and more powerful!?" excitedly said G_3.

"Wouldn't that mean that if you could capture and process these beings, we could finally access a large and steady flow of Ep?!" Excitedly yelled G_2.

"Umm, dude, hang on, we can't harm an innocent being for our own benefit. That would be against our very nature." calmed down G_4.

"Oh yeah, that whole 'being a good person who can't hurt anyone else' thing." annoyingly said G_2.

"It is not a thing, it is like, one half of the basis of our entire soul. We risk insanity if we go against it. That is why we made a rule around it, remember?" questioningly said G_4.

[The host is correct in thinking that the host's kindness forms a large portion of his soul, or at least, what the host views as kind right now.] (AN: I realized recently that the morality we display only exists because of the general situation we are currently in, and the society we live in. But because of how my brain works, society doesn't have as large an effect on me. So how I am kind can only really change if I change as a person. And I change as a person often.)

[And yes, the host's soul would be in danger, but the reality is that all that would happen is a large amount of mental pain will occur. Nothing the host can't handle if he didn't want to.]

"Oh."

"Well, I still won't break a rule, so I am going to have to check if the being is truly innocent, or at least consents first."

"I just have three more questions for now. Were the theories I just mentioned for possible different beings existing, actually possible? And if so, are there way's to process them, or utilize them to constantly farm Ep in the event they are real?"

"And of course, the most important of all: YOU CAN READ MY SUBCONSCIOUS?!?!?!"
