1 Prologue

Orbs of light glimmered amongst a grassy field. Gentle hues, like fireflies fading out and growing out in stronger hues. There was blue, and red. Even green. Just hovering about.

Brrrrrccckkkkkkk!

A white hot flash of light seared the the surrounding, the grass itself was burned from the top down, with only a few inches on some of the plants surviving. A figure in a white robe landed at the center of the destruction.

"My, my. Master, you can't stop me." The white robed man yelled out as a form seemed to fly across the sky, before crashing into the ground just outside the circle of burnt grass and shrubs. The white robed man had tan skin, a youthful expression of one who seemed to be in the age region of the twenties. His red eyes glimmered coldly as he faced the man he just shot across the field.

The form coughed, pitching itself up by its arms before slowly getting to its feet. Standing unsteadily, her face was clearly seen with the radiance of the orbs about and as her robe's shroud released from her head. Her hair, which danced like wheat sprouts in the cool night wind, was golden blond.

Her lips spread in a sly grimace of a grin. Though, there was blood sliding down the corner of that very wretched smile. "I suppose this is on me then. It's my responsibility to stop you before you go too far." Immediately she formed a pose. Stretching a hand forth, while sliding a leg back. In an elegant twist of the body, she dragged a palm to one side and thrust it out.

Kruuuuing!

A sound akin to hitting a metal sounded out, and brilliant circle of white light hovered with the palm. Similar sounds sounded out as her outstretched arm soon gathered another circle of light at the extents of it. With a flurry that was similar to a dance, she united both circles and stretched out an elegant pattern.

It was like magic and soon bolts of light weaved through the air, homing at the white robed from all directions.

Frowning, the man pulled his arms in and white seemed to coalesce with his form before he pushed out with both his arms and a sphere of whiteness pushed out, burning the streaks of light and sending a ripple out.

As the white light faded away, the white robed man appeared to be at the center of a crater. He was smiling to himself. "Master, master. Haven't you gotten weak?" He grinned to himself like a happy idiot. And why not? He had surpassed his master, and he'd go a step further than that. As he was glowering in pride, his eyes swam to where his master lay.

Or where she was supposed to lay.

The white robed man suddenly panicked, looking everywhere.

She wasn't there.

As he spun around, dashed around the hill, he felt a deep frustration build inside him.

She wasn't anywhere.

Growling, a fiercer burst of light ruptured out, extending to the tree line of the forest, and starting fires there. The white robed man's face twisted in an ugly manner.

His prey had gotten away. 'It would have been better to deal with her here.' His thoughts echoed as he soon calmed down. And then his face spread in a grin and he laughed. "It won't do you any good running. You won't stop me.. You can't stop me now." With a twist of his robe, he soon left the grasslands in a fierce flash of light.

--

The woman's breathing labored. She was in a small, one room shack that looked like it hadn't been in use for a longtime. It was wooden, and there was a lot of holes in the wall and the floor. The gentle light that had surrounded her in her escape seemed to throb and ebb worryingly against her skin.

"I'll be fine.. I just need to rest." She smiled, visibly reaching out and petting the light that seemed to have a mind of its own. Her thoughts turned to her lost disciple. ". . ."

She sighed. And immediately after, grabbed at her stomach in pain. "Eurggh.. Fine, I'm laying down. I'm laying down." She was helpless now. There was no point in worrying about all that now. She had to recover. Recover and then stop him.

"Yes."

"I will stop him."

"I should. ."

The woman's voice gave out and she soon fell face forward into the side of cot. The lights dulled, but then slowly began to gather at her skin fade to a gentle glow.
