4 Chapter 3: Gathering Allies
After Arthur became an assassin, he and Yusuf took the road to search for allies to help them in their war against the missionaries. They visited every small village so they could recruit any man they can find, but unfortunately no one accepted to join them because everyone thought that there's no way that someone can defeat king Henry, they even kicked them out from their villages because they were afraid that the king would hear about this and kill them. Arthur got angry of how these villagers are so coward and not brave enough to fight for their own freedom but Yusuf told him to calm himself down it's not easy to join a fight against an entire kingdom,they need a little hope that can ensure them that it's possible, we need to show them that we can do it
Arthur: and how are we gonna do that?
Yusuf: we need to free one village from the missionaries so the other villages would believe in our cause
Arthur: and which village is that?
Yusuf: i know a village called Williks that's not far from here follow me
Arthur: what do you know about this village?
Yusuf: all i know that their men are very strong and loyal, they refused to kneel for king Henry after he executed their leader in front of them
Arthur: so they must hate king Henry a lot
Yusuf: oh yeah, and they will be a major support to us if they join us
Arthur: but why didn't they fight against King Henry if they're very strong?
Yusuf: because king Henry took away hostages from that village women and children and threatened to kill them if someone tries to start a fight against him
Yusuf and Arthur mounted their horses and head for Williks. when they finally arrived, they went to bar to have launch, while they were having launch a group of drunk soldiers walk in and order beer, one of them looks behind and sees Arthur and Yusuf having launch and knows that they are not from around, he approaches Arthur while the other soldiers are laughing and he puts his arm around Arthur and started pouring beer in Arthur's plate. suddenly and out of no where Arthur sticks his blade in the soldier's throat, the other soldiers are shocked of what happened and immediately attack Arthur and Yusuf and a fight begins in the bar. Arthur and Yusuf easily defeated king Henry's soldiers in front of all of the villagers. one of the villagers called Jack stepped forward and asked them
Jack: who are you?
Arthur: we're the people who gonna save you
Yusuf: we call ourselves the assassins
Jack: did you know what the hell have you done?
Arthur: yes we do, and we would like you to join us if you want to
Jack with a happy face: hell yeah we will join, we have been waiting for someone to steps in for a long time
and they shook hands, Jack tells Arthur and Yusuf that there is a small fort right outside the village controlled by the king's men that's where they took out people, if you want the entire village to fight with you, you need to save our people from those soldiers, Arthur and Yusuf agree to save them and Yusuf suggests that they should do it at night and Jack tells them that he wants to join them because his wife is one of the hostages but Yusuf refuses and Jack starts begging him then Yusuf agrees.
it's night time, Yusuf and Arthur put on their hoods and ready their blades and swords and head for the fort. Yusuf tells Arthur that they need to do this quietly or they will call for reinforcements. Yusuf told Arthur to take the left side and he and Jack will take the right side and they'll hit them from both sides, Yusuf and Jack will focus on saving the hostages and Arthur will take care of the soldiers. Arthur climbs the fort's wall and silently kills the guard and heads for the others while Yusuf and Jack start looking for where the hostages might be. Arthur manages to kill all of the soldiers and Yusuf and jack found the hostages, Jack sees his wife behind bars and hugs her and tell her that they will save all of them. Yusuf tells Jack that he will go and look for the keys while he waits here, Yusuf finds the key but gets spotted by a soldier. The soldier follows Yusuf to the dungeons and while Yusuf is trying to open the doors the soldier attacks him from behind but Jack jumps in front of him and gets stabbed and his wife screams. Arthur from behind comes in and immediately kills the soldier and Yusuf grabs Jack in his arms before he falls. Jack's wife Veronica comes out of the cell and sits next to her husband crying and grabbing his hand and begging him not to die, Jack whispers in her ear telling her that he always loved her and felt lucky that he married her and she was the best thing that ever happened in his life and then he dies. Arthur and Yusuf escort the hostages back to the village with Jack's body. the villagers are happy of what Arthur and Yusuf did but at the same time they were sad of what happened to Jack and they promise Veronica that they will avenge his death but Veronica tells them that I'm the one who's gonna avenge his death and I'm gonna do that by taking down the king from his throne and then she turns to Arthur and Yusuf and tells them that she'll be the first one to join them in their fight against the king and the other villagers agree to join them too.
After what happened in Williks, the words were spread that someone is really starting a war against the king, when king Henry heard about it he laughed and didn't believe it and didn't do anything because he thought that it's just stupid farmers making troubles and his soldiers will take care of them, but what he didn't know is that these stupid farmers are going to be the reason of his death.
after what happened in Williks, the other villages sent messengers to the assassins so they would help them. a messenger came to Arthur and Yusuf and told them what the other villages decided so Yusuf wrote a message and sent it to the 10 assassin mentors so they could go and help freeing the other villages, Arthur asked Yusuf
Arthur: what are we gonna do if you're sending the other mentors to go and help the other villages?
Yusuf: we, my friend are going to get ourselves killed
Arthur: what?
Yusuf: you heard me
Arthur: you're not making any sense
Yusuf: you and i are going big
Arthur: what do you mean?
Yusuf: just shut up and follow me
Yusuf and Arthur mount their horses and take the road, while they're riding their horses Arthur asks Yusuf
Arthur: what did you mean by we're going big
Yusuf: let me ask you a question Arthur, have you ever heard about a kingdom called Milan?
Arthur: you mean the kingdom, that no one ever enters without its king approval and no one ever dared to start a fight against? even king Henry couldn't conquer it?
Yusuf: yeah, that's the one
Arthur: don't tell me you that you gonna do what i think you gonna do
Yusuf: hell yeah brother, we are gonna make the king of Milan our ally
Arthur: how the fuck are we gonna do that?
Yusuf: the kingdom of Milan is surrounded by King Henry's forces, about 5000 soldiers from king Henry's army and the missionaries set up camp outside of the kingdom's gates and one of the knights is there too
Arthur: a knight!!!
Yusuf: yes, a Knight
Arthur: who?
Yusuf: Romero Montbard, he's leading the army so he could defeat The king of Milan and make the kingdom ruled by the missionaries
Arthur: so you want to help the king of Milan in his war so he would help in ours
Yusuf: of course, but first we need to gather the allies from the other villages that the mentors are helping because it will be impossible to defeat a 5000 army by ourselves
Arthur: that means we need to wait for news from the mentors
Yusuf: yes
Arthur: what are we gonna do while we're waiting?
Yusuf: there's a village not far from here, we can rest there until we get some news.
Yusuf and Arthur went to that small village and entered a bar so they would have beers, while they were drinking their Arthur heard someone talking about king Henry's daughter, he said that Myrcella is going to marry some prince after three days. Arthur got angry and quickly stood up and left the bar to mount his horse, Yusuf followed him and asked him
Yusuf: what the hell are you doing?
Arthur: there's something i need to take care of
Yusuf: what do you mean there's something you need to take care of? don't you know that we have a battle to fight?
Arthur: I'll do it real quickly and return to you i promise you
Yusuf: do what!!!
Arthur: i can't let this wedding happen Yusuf, i can't, i have been in love with this girl since i was a boy and i promised her that i would kill anybody that touches her.
Yusuf: are you out of your mind boy, are you telling that you're going to the enemy's stronghold by yourself? and to do what, stop a wedding?
Arthur: you have no idea what this girl means to me Yusuf, she's the only thing that's good in my life, now let go of me
Yusuf: let tell you something before you leave, I'm not gonna stop you but if the battle's time comes and you didn't return we're doing this with or without you
Arthur: don't worry brother, I'll return before the battle starts you have my word
Yusuf: do you even have a plan to stop this wedding?
Arthur: I'll think of something on the way.
and then Arthur mounts his horse and leaves.
Three days later at night inside the kingdom of Naples, the entire kingdom is decorated, the people are celebrating the princess's wedding, king Henry, Edward and many of important people from other kingdoms and the missionaries are drinking and celebrating, it's a happy day inside the kingdom, everyone is happy except for one. The Princess is not happy. on the top of a tower Arthur is watching the wedding, he snuck in without anyone noticed him. while everyone is partying Arthur is waiting for the right moment to strike. the wedding ended and the Prince is taking his wife to their room, they enter their room and the Prince starts taking his clothes off but Mercylla refuses to. he slaps her and tells her that she is his wife now and she must to whatever he tells her to do. then a man from the dark approaches and cuts the Prince's throat from behind and kills him. Mercylla starts screaming but Arthur puts his hand on her mouth and gets close to her. Arthur takes of his hood and the tears of joy start coming out from Merctlla's eyes, she recognized Arthur and then they have a long and romantic kiss. Mercylla starts asking Arthur with meaningless words but Arthur stops her and starts explaining to her what happened but he told not to say anything to anyone even his brother. Mercylla feels so happy that Arthur is alive and when was Arthur leaving he turns to her and tells her "if anyone touches you I'm gonna kill him" and then he leaves.
back to Yusuf
Yusuf and his assassin mentors gathered the men from all of the villages alongside with their 500 assassins, Yusuf now have 7500 man fighting with him. it's now 3500 man in Yusuf's army against 5000 man from Romero's army. Yusuf is waiting for Arthur to come back but Moses tells him that they need to strike before Romero calls for reinforcements. Yusuf gives Arthur half a day to return.
The time is up and Yusuf gathers his army and heads for battle. while Yusuf and his army are heading for battle Yusuf spots a man laying on a tree in front if him,that man is Arthur. Yusuf with a smile on his face dismounts his horse and gives Arthur a big hug and both of them ride their horse and head to Romero army's camp. when the army was close to the enemy's camp Yusuf ordered his men to stay put and wait for his orders, and then he took Arthur with him so the both of them enter the kingdom of Milan to offer their help to the king. Arthur and Yusuf went to the back of the kingdom and climbed it's walls but they got captured by the King's men, they were taken away to the king hall blindfolded, the king name is Richard Strongwill, they thought that they were spies from Romero's army but Yusuf told them that they are not
the King: well well well, what do we have here, two rats from that idiot's army
Yusuf: no my lord we are not spies from Romero's army
the king: and how are we gonna make sure that you're telling the truth
Yusuf: anything you want my king
the king: bring out the prisoners
king Richard's men brought two prisoners from Romero's army
the King: if you're really telling the truth, you gotta kill these two men right here right now
Arthur stands up and kills both of the enemy soldiers
the King: now that leave us with two options, you either telling the truth or you just sacrificed your men to make us believe that you're telling the truth. which one is it
Yusuf stands up and takes a step forward but gets stopped by the King's men
Yusuf: my lord, we came with a proposition for your Majesty
the king: and what is this proposition?
Yusuf: we have an army of 3500 soldier waiting for my word to attack Romero and his men, but we need you and your army's help in this battle
the King: and why do you want to kill Romero?
Yusuf: not only Romero my lord, we are going to kill all of the missionaries
the King? ooh, so you know about that damn cult?
Yusuf: yes my king
the king: and how do you know about that secret cult?
Yusuf: we have our ways my king
the King: then you know how dangerous this cult is?
Yusuf: we are dangerous too my lord
the King: who exactly are you people?
Yusuf: WE ARE THE ASSASSINS
