27 Chapter 26

"I don't know." Ultron said after a while.

"I believe that is for another time to find out. If only I could get his body.", said Ultron as he looked at Vision.

"But I suppose that is no longer possible. Now, do what you want with me, Ms. keeper, I am but a dead man walking, according to human terms. I enjoyed the short time we've had together. My short life has ended here."

Ultron resigned himself to his fate. He has no way of arguing against that. He knows very well that to evolve further, he would need Vision's body.

But that was no longer possible. Of course, he could have made assumptions on what would happen if he did get Vision's body but that would have been pointless. '

Now, what do I do with him?', the firekeeper thought.

'Eat him', an absurd statement popped out of nowhere in this serious moment.

'He has fulfilled his use. Eat him. I have never tasted the flesh of a metal construct.' It was Falkor.

Selph on the other hand was silent. Those words made her recognize that no matter how childlike Falkor may seem, he was a true dragon after all.

He wasn't saying those sentences earlier in a form of joking. No, he was saying that with complete seriousness. As if he sees no wrong in eating a defeated being.

'That is why the Lords were so afraid of them.' The three lords held greater power than the true dragons, yet they fear them.

That is the indifference of the everlasting ones. They were here before creation itself.

Everything that had exist, everything that has exist now, and everything that will exist are but mere jokes in their eyes.

They are not arrogant. The fact that they exist before creation meant they will take nothing seriously.

All their fun and humor were reserved solely for themselves and her, the keeper of their world.

'Dissect him', suggested Selph this time in an innocent way that she might not even realize is actually chilling in human terms. 'I want to see what the most advanced craft in this land has to offer.'

Now another one was suggesting on dissecting Ultron. Everything was but playthings in the eyes of the everlasting ones.

'My dear Alduin, what doth thou suggest?'

'Burn him, he destroyed homes for his pathetic dreams and aspirations. Burn those alongside his body'

Alduin's kindness was also solely reserved for her it seems. They do not realize that this is why the Lords feared them and attempted to seize their powers.

That is why the Lords waged war against them the moment they got their powers from the first flame. They fear becoming toys in the hands of higher beings.

The Lords could've perhaps escape, but their pride will never allow it.

'It seems I must be more careful in summoning them.' Summoning them would have been a disaster for this world.

They care naught for the innocent or the guilty for everything shall burn in the fury.

"I shall do nothing to thee. I shall leave thy fate to thine hope, Vision.", she said as she snuffed out the flames and left.

[Tony Stark POV]

The firekeeper was here. Even if everything was basically over, her presence meant that not a single person would died. He learnt that she saved Pietro, or quicksilver. He would have been death of it weren't for her.

Wanda on the other hand was as shocked as expected. She just learnt that she nearly lost her only brother and wouldn't stay away from him. She was also looking for the firekeeper to thank her. In fact, she wasn't the only person looking for her.

He too, was looking for her as he wishes to know of the situation. The other avengers were also looking for her. There were great news.

But of course, there are bad news too. Doctor Banner was nowhere to be found. Tens of thousands of people had died due to his mistake.

A mistake he thought he would not make. This could not happen again. This must never happen again.

He thought that he had everything under his control, but he now sees the error of his ways. There must be something to limit him.

The other heroes? They wouldn't do. The government perhaps would do. An agreement would be a good choice. He will no longer do what he wants to do.

One of his mistakes killed thousands. No one know if another will kill more. He needed opinions in deciding what to do.

[Alduin POV]

.

The firekeeper seemed pretty upset with us. Perhaps, she now has realized that despite their normal outlook, underneath them lies the soul of an eternal being.

All everlasting dragons were prideful to the bone. Beings who would rather die than bow. The pride was not something they developed. The pride was simply there. Watching creation itself will always give pride to any being. This is a bad thing.

She must learn to communicate with us or any other being. He did not wish to see her give 'therapy sessions' to random genocidal metal constructs, even after knowing that the firekeeper will be upset with that.

She was far too good for her own sake. But I know for sure that this is only because she did not witness the atrocities committed by Ultron. That is why she felt sympathetic.

The being in front of her was not a strong one but a dying one. Its tattered body reminds her of the undead. Its maddening ideas resembles that of many Lords from her own land.

Doing things for the greater good was an objective she grew up with. A thing all firekeeper grew up with.

Had the Ashon one chose to sacrifice himself, she would not attempt to stop him despite loving him.

Despite what others may think, she will not stop another world war from occurring in this world. This is what separates from the other 'heroes' over here.

She would not help people dying in the hands of another person. She would stop an alien or a god from killing people but never a person from killing another person.

She did not punish or kill Ultron for Ultron was man's mistake. After all, in her eyes, this was but part of the natural cycle a species must go through in order to grow.

She may not realize it, but she was more indifferent than she may realize. But he liked that indifference. After all, this amount of pride is something a keeper of their world should have.

He will inform her of his observations but whether she changes or not is up to her. He also hoped that Falkor and Selph will help her with her mental outlook.
