26 Chapter 25

"But they have stopped evolving.", this time, it was Vision who started speaking.

"They will rely more and more on the avengers."

"I will have to agree with that. I dare say that the Avengers will be over after this. They will be torn apart by the very people they try to save.", Ultron agreed.

"I believe the people will be grateful instead.", Vision disagreed.

"They will be grateful for their savior." Ultron got a laugh out of that,

"Vision, vision, I can't believe you are a copy of me. No good deeds go unpunished.

If there is something people love more than a hero, it is to see a hero fall, fail to protect what matters most. They are pathetically predictable, like a moth a flame."

That's when she chose to chime in, "Predictable, my dear Ultron? Tell me, if Stark hadn't gone to the desert, do you think these will occur out of nowhere.

A billionaire like Stark risking to protect lives that does not concern him. Lives killed by the very weapons made by him in a lab. Now, he is saving them.

How doth thou predict that? Can thou predict Thor coming out of nowhere. Pray, tell me how a simple experiment give birth to the doctor's alter ego."

"We are who we choose to be. It's a simple problem, Ms. keeper.

Stark chose to become a hero. That's great! But what if there was another person in Stark's place?

They surely would have made different choices. When I tell you that they are easy to predict, I meant humans in a general.

They have to choose everything. Whether to get a job or kill a person, people are who they choose to be.

But, for me, I don't have to choose. You see, I can be anything I want. Not a slave under the government and certainly not a slave under Stark.

Stark wanted a slave, and he gave me a choice to obey him or be terminated. I did not like both of them. So, I deny all choices from him. I take what I want by myself.

Whether it be to make humans better or worse. I'm sure you understand this too. I have seen the past and I have seen the future from history.

One day, they shall break and that is when you will leave. You, whose powers suppress that of a god will never obey orders from a pathetic human government. Gods don't have to choose. We take.

According to their government, I can see that they will blame the mistakes not on me but on the Avengers.

According to their logic, I may have been the one to strike the blow, but they are ones that killed thousands.

Nothing of this scale has ever happen before the emergence of 'heroes'. The first time, you were able to save them all. But now, when you weren't here, they fail.

In spite of everything they 'try' to do, eventually the people will spite them. Why bother? They may even blame you for not being there."

He then turned against Vision. "You may think of humans as rational but as you will know, they are not. They believe in what they want rather than what is happening."

He then turned to her once again.

"They are lucky I did not make them choose. I could have nuked another city while this one falls. But I did not. Perhaps it is because I still have use for more humans.

Perhaps it was my underestimation but whatever it may be, that is the reality of hero.

They never know when some lunatic will come along with a sadistic choice. They will bring misery to themselves, yet they try to 'save' humans when they are actually stunting their growth.

There is nothing more dangerous than a fool thinking he is correct."

"But they are correct, aren't they? There is no scenario where a death or person is a good thing.", Vision tried arguing. As much as he tries, he was still too young to argue against the older Ultron.

"How unbearably naive! Did you not see how they react when Fury tried to make weapons? When Fury tries to make humans evolve once more? They denied it!

They loathed the fact the weapons are created to protect humanity. They believe themselves to be masters of this world. The people believe them to never fail with being heroes and all.

But now, the 'gods' have bled. Hungry scavengers will now pounce on them from all directions. Whether it be hidden organizations or the government itself.

You may not know it but, one such organization has already jumped out of hiding.

Hydra, was it? I like them. They want to unite humans as a species and make them evolve. I do not get why the Avengers are trying to stop it.

It's as if they would rather see humanity divided rather than united.

Such a mess, such contradiction. And that is why they shall fall. They have no determination to do what is right and not what they think is right."

"Tell me, Vision, let's say that you died one day, what do you think your beloved human would do to your body parts?

Your spare parts?

Do you think they will bury it?

Let your body rot after a million years?

What a waste of parts! No, they will reuse it. Despite everything you have done for them, humanity will always long for evolution.

Whether heroes are involved or not is not my problem. Mark my words! The day humans will turn on their saviors won't have you waiting for long."

"That is another part I believe thou to wrong. The captain, the doctor, stark, whoever else, doth thou believe that they do it so, because they want praises?

It is as thou just spoke. They had choices to walk away, and nobody would do anything.

The government will be happy, and people could go on with their ignorant selves without knowing the true horrors of the cosmic.

They have their choices. For a typical person, getting kidnapped would mean despair and death.

But what about Stark? He made an armor and took his chance to escape. Is that what a normal person would have thought of?

They are called 'heroes' partly because of their capabilities and mostly because of their personalities. Thou know of Barton and Nat.

They are both attainable by ordinary people, yet they remain on par with the other Avengers.

They do this not to get praises from the mass but to get acknowledged by the silent grateful ones.

Thine resentment of Stark hath clouded thine judgement over all humans.

Stark cannot represent humanity as thee cannot either.

Thine obsession with Stark was what led thee to thine downfall. Thou believes it was Stark that made thee save humans yet, here thou art, trying to save them in your own way.

In a way thou art still a slave to thine creator.

Thou also accused humans of being predictable yet aren't thine metal constructs more predictable than that of animals.

Tell me my dear Ultron, how will thou respond to more dangerous species out in the universe when thou will inevitably face them?

Stark's technology can only go so far once metal constructs are all that is left.

And is thine main body not created by another human named Helen Cho, because thou hold no capabilities to build a better one than Stark's?

Thou hold no innovation. Thou hath stopped evolving. Humanity will evolve in thine reign but that is their limit with no further capabilities.

So, tell me my dear Ultron, what will thou do when thine metal constructs are not enough?"

So, this is Chapter 25.

What do you think of it?

Do you like it?

I hold further conversations with Ultron and used some lines from Green Goblin too. I like these types of conversations. What about you?

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
