The woman was looking at a folder that she held in her hands and upon sensing the approach of Xiao Ling, she raised her eyes from the folder she was looking at focusing her eyes now on him.

Taking a look at his face the unknown woman looked puzzled for a second before that confusion disappeared from her face and nodding her head at him and began talking in a professional tone of voice.

"You are Xiao Ling, right? My name is Lin Yun. My mistress wishes to meet with you. Would you be so kind as to come with me?"

Hearing the words of this woman named Lin Yun, Xiao Ling raised one of his eyebrows while looking at her. He was pretty sure that he had never seen this woman before in both his lives.

"I will be going with Lin Yun. She said something about her mistress wanting to meet me, and well, she has piqued my interest."

Hearing his words, Xiao Che's ears perked up as she looked at him.

"So, you don't know who she is, big brother?"

"No, This is my first time meeting the woman at the door who is named Lin Yun."

"And you will be going with her?"

"Yeah, I wanna so who is her mistress and what does she want with me."

Hearing the conversation between her children, Xiao Tan squinted her eyes while a little bit of worry appeared on her expression.

"Dear, Are you sure you will be alright? Going with someone you don't know to some unknown place. That could be dangerous."

Seeing his mother nod, Xiao Ling smiled and began heading to the door of the house before he stopped in the midst of his steps and turned back toward his little sister.

As the car continued its journey headed clearly toward the northern portion of the city, their surroundings on the outside began to change as the house started to become bigger and bigger.

Well, after looking at it, he realized that the word house didn't really do it justice, and it would be much more fitting to call the building in front of him a mansion.

For while he had seen in his past life truly gigantic mansions, a couple of them spanned entire continents and would take a mortal his entire lifetime to get from one room to another, he was still a little bit impressed by this mansion considering that he was on a mortal world.

It was obvious from just looking at the other mansions in the area that the size of this one was unusual even for the rich district.

Shaking his head, Xiao Ling pulled himself back from his thought and headed toward Lin Yun who was standing at the door of the mansion which was already open.

"Follow Me."

Saying so, Lin Yun entered the mansion and headed immediately toward the stairs that were placed at the far end of the entrance lobby and began ascending them while Xiao Ling followed behind her.

After ascending the stairs to the second floor, Lin Yun headed toward the hallway on the left passing several rooms that had their door closed before she finally stooped in front of the door of the last room in the hallway.

Knocking on the door, Lin Yun announced herself to whoever was in the room.

"Mistress, It's me. I have brought Xiao Ling as you said."

"Send him in."

A cold voice responded to the announcement of Lin Yun from inside the room.

Hearing this, Lin Yun opened the door and then turned toward Xiao Ling signaling for him to enter.

Xiao Ling nodded his head before heading into the room while the door closed behind him.

Taking a look around, Xiao Ling found himself in what looked like an office, an extremely opulent office and in the middle of the office there was one large expensive looking desk sounded by two empty chairs on this side and one chair on the other side and sitting on that chair going over different papers and signing them was a slightly familiar person to Xiao Ling.

It was the woman that he had seen at the shop of Old Man Mo, the extremely cold and apparently emotionless woman named Nuan.

Seeing her, Xiao Ling began to understand what she wanted and why she had sent after him. Still, he was a little bit impressed seeing as she had been able to find him and find where he lived even though she had nothing to go by except his name which Old Man Mo had mentioned.

Seeing that she was still completely focused on the papers in front of her, Xiao Ling simply smiled and headed toward the desk and upon reaching it, he took a seat on one of the two empty chairs.

Based on the way that her hand had stopped for a little moment when he did so, it seems like Nuan hadn't expected him to do this which caused Xiao Ling to smile on the inside.

Sitting down on his chair, Xiao Ling didn't bother with saying anything and instead simply looked at the beautiful and cold girl in front of him. She was going over a stack of papers and once every in a while she would sign on one of the papers and put it on the side.

"Xiao Ling, 17 Years old, lives with his mother and little sister, father died in a car accident when he was only one year old. A normal and average 17-year-old guy in every shape and form. Finished with narrating his life, Nuan raised her cold black eyes and met the eyes of Xiao Ling. Tilting her head to the side, she looked at him with faint confusion.

Hearing his words, Nuan remained silent for a couple of seconds before sighing and standing from her seat.

"Let's go then. I shall lead you to mother's room."

Saying that Nuan headed to the door of the room and after unlocking it she found herself face to face with Lin Yun who was still waiting outside the room.

"Follow Me."

Saying that Both Xiao Ling and Lin Yun followed her as she headed towards the stairs they had taken to get here and began ascending them to the third floor.

Reaching the third floor, the group of three headed into the right hallway and into the first room in the hallway that had its door open.

Entering the room, Xiao Ling looked around noting all the expensive decoration hanging on the walls and the smell of medical herb that filled the room even though two windows were already opened in the room.

Focusing back on Nuan, Xiao Ling saw that she headed into the middle of the room where there was one large bed that was covered by white sheets and one middle-aged lady who was standing by the side of that bed.

Following her, Xiao Ling reached the large bed and the middle-aged woman who stood beside it.

The middle-aged woman who stood beside the bed was a slightly overweight woman with an average looking face and was using a piece of clothes to wipe the forehead of one woman who was laying on the bed.

Moving his eyes from the middle-aged woman, Xiao Ling looked at the woman laying down on the bed looking as if she was asleep.

This woman laying on the bed whom Xiao Ling suspected to be the Mother of Nuan was like a slightly older copy of the cold girl. She, like her daughter, had a breathtakingly beautiful face that was framed by her black hair and the only real apparent difference between mother and daughter was that the mother was truly emotionless and with no expression on her sleeping face.

Looking at her, Xiao Ling was puzzled slightly as he could sense nothing wrong with her body and he could see no obvious sign of any kind of ailment.

Squinting his eyes, Xiao Ling focused on his soul and extended his hand putting it over the stomach of the sleeping woman. As he did so, he began channeling his soul energy through his hand using it to scan every facet of the woman.

After he finished scanning her body and confirming his suspicion that nothing was wrong with it, Xiao Ling changed the focus of his energy into her soul.

And as soon as his soul energy had scanned her soul, Xiao Ling's eyes opened in shock.

For a moment, he couldn't believe what he had sensed. When he had scanned the soul of the woman laying on the bed, Xiao Ling found out that it had nearly been consumed completely. And what shocked him, even more, was what was consuming her soul.

The Soul Consuming Poison.

Hearing her words and seeing her reaction, Nuan turned to the middle-aged woman.

"Aunty Meifeng, what do you mean by your words?"

The middle-aged woman who apparently is named Aunti Meifeng turned to her young mistress while her eyes were sparkling with hope.

Until that person is erased completely from the world leaving their body an empty husk that would never wake up again."

Hearing his words, the mask of coldness that Nuan wore began to crack and fall off with each and every word he said.

While her rational mind told her that such a frightening poison can't exist, Her heart believed every word he said, and with her heart believing what he said, despair began to set in and fill her soul.

Seeing the despair begin to cover her face, Xiao Ling sighed once more.

It seems that for all of her pretending and acting aloof and cold, This Nuan girl truly loved her mother and wanted to save her no matter what, a thing which Xiao Ling could sympathize with.

Shaking his head slightly, Xiao Ling allowed a teasing smile to appear on his face as he raised his eyebrow at her.

"What are you getting depressed about all of a sudden? I simply was describing what had poisoned your mother. I didn't say that I couldn't heal her."

Nuan Raised her head so fast to look at Xiao Ling when she heard what he said and at the same speed, hope began to return to her heart and showing on her face.

"You can Heal her? You are sure about that, right? You can heal her and cure her of this poison that consumes the soul? How? Actually, I don't care. Just heal her."

Chuckling at her sudden enthusiasm, Xiao Ling responded.

"Well, yes I can heal her, but it will take time. Getting rid of the poison and healing back the soul. I think it will take nearly six months of Daily session to heal your mother fully and wake her up."

"I don't care how long it takes. I Had already spent years searching for a cure, I don't care how long it takes you to heal her or how much it's gonna cost me."

"Well, if you say so, I think I should start right about now."

While the Soul consuming poison was formidable, facing the overwhelming energy of Xiao Ling, it could do nothing but be evaporated completely.

And having now dealt with the easiest part, Xiao Ling turned his attention to what remains of the soul of the beautiful mother and began enveloping it in his soul energy healing and giving it what it needed of the energy to rebuild itself.

Noticing this, Xiao Ling pulled back his energy and opened his eyes. Doing so, he pulled back his hand that was over the stomach of the mother and turned to look at his surroundings.

Seeing her young lady look at her, aunty Meifeng understood what she wanted and nodded her head before putting her hand in one of the pockets of her dress and pulling something from there and handing it to her.

Taking what her aunty handed to her, Nuan called after Xiao Ling and headed toward him.

"Here, take this then."

Looking at what she handed him, Xiao Ling realized that it was a bank card. Looking at it for a little bit, Xiao Ling raised his eyes to look at her.

"And what's this?"

"I think it's obvious. A bank card registered on your name. There are a couple of million yuans in the account. You can use the card to spend that money however you please."

Hearing her words, Xiao Ling tilted his head to the side.

"Just when did you open a bank account in my name and put money in it?"

Hearing his words, Nuan allowed a rare smile to appear on her face.

"When I had sent after you. I wanted to prepare, just in case, you could heal mother. Smiling, Xiao Ling accepted the bank card after hearing her words, and after putting it in his pocket he sent it to his soul storage.

Nodding his head after doing that, he started once more heading to the door of the room.

"Well, I appreciate your trust in me. As I had said, I will be back tomorrow in the evening. See you then."

Saying that Xiao Ling went out of the door of the room, this time without being stopped by Nuan once more, and headed down the stairs to the door of the mansion.

Reaching it, He opened it and after going through it, he closed it behind him.
