10 Hidden secret

Both were crumpled to the ground trying to catch their lost breath. "That was certainly something." Astrid commented.

"Fights like this are always exciting." Khaled nodded.

After resting for some time both sat and looked around. The golem's body pieces were lying on the floor and his red eyes were now turned off.

After getting up both went to the last door on the other side of the room. "Do you think you'll have another trap like that?" Khaled asked excitedly with perspective.

Astrid shook her head as she scanned the door ahead. "I do not think I'm likely to have another trap."

This was a relatively common door if attention was not paid to the details carved into it. The door was full of other enchantments, making it seem mystical. The runes on the door indicated a time that could no longer return from some lost society.

"I've never seen these inscriptions before." Astrid commented to Khaled "It looks different from any language I've ever had contact with, it does not seem to be Elvish or Draconian."

Khaled did not understand the letters as much as he could not read, but he was equally interested. "Is it from the dwarves?"

"Unlikely, the dwarfs are great at engineering, but they do not like to mess with magic runes." After inspecting the door Astrid wiped away the dust that was accumulating at one end and found a notch in the shape of a hand. "Is it okay if I fit my hand here to try to open it?"

"Oh, try, we have nothing to lose!" Khaled jumped happily around.

"Heh.. Maybe only my hand would I say."

Khaled snorted at Astrid's reply. "I did not know you were so fearful." He teased.

Astrid could not help laughing amused, the more the time passed the more lively and fun Khaled personality was, she could not deny that he was very fun and reliable to have around.

Astrid took a deep breath and was about to place her hand on the relief of the door when it was stopped by Khaled. "Be careful okay? Anything wrong you pull the hand right away." He finished worried. Even though he was joking, it was a fact that he did not want her to get hurt because of some nonsense door.

She nodded in agreement, and finally took courage. After she slipped her hand into the opening a slight glow was radiated from Astrid's palm, which was soon frightened and she drew back her hand. But that was enough for the door to emit noises of openness as if the locks that held it closed finally moved.

The door slid to the side and revealed a large room filled with bookcases full of books, a gigantic library on one side of the other side were tables of magical and scientific experiments that seemed far beyond their time. In the center of the giant room was a red-colored sphere that emitted a slight glow.

Astrid and Khaled entered the room slowly on alert so they would not be taken aback if something happened. When the two stepped near the matrix that surrounded the ball a slight brightness appeared and a projection was performed.

The person who appeared before them had human characteristics and their appearance was relatively. He began to speak calmly in universal ancient magic language. Surprising both Astrid and Khaled.

"Hello, if you are seeing this message you have most likely been able to defeat the golem in the next room, my congratulations for that." The projection smiled to both of them and then continued. "I made this golem with the mithril that I dug by building this tunnel into that room. I have to admit that staying here has left me relatively alone with my research, but as a human coming from another world with knowledge that does not fit this place, I was tired of being persecuted and so I hid here."

The projection sighed tiredly at this moment and it was possible to see him pulling a chair to sit down. "I advise you to sit down for a bit my explanation as to where this place might be."

Astrid and Khaled unconsciously agreed to the suggestion of the projection and sat down, while paying attention eager to know the whole story it is not every day that one could hear the story of a person from another world.
