10 Gift and Rewards

"Now," Deirdre coughed. "Go and claim your rewards for the quest and find me at the Greendale after you've both done your class change. I've also left something as a gift, it's up to you if you'll use it in the incoming trial."

She left the forest in a grandiose manner. Her figure suddenly disappeared, without a trace. David and Brook went ahead and checked their status, recalling what Deirdre had just mentioned.

"System," called Brook.

Brook's basic skills were on the verge of upgrading. An upgrade in skill means that its properties would completely change or become amplified. There's also combination, where two skills of similar effect would combine into a stronger skill, but this would only be available after the second class change.

The gift Deirdre had left them was God's Illusionary Bane, a skill that could fool the eyes of gods. It became a crucial asset to them because of its wonderful skill effect, moreso after their class change. Deirdre also told them that only when one reaches a certain level would the gods be able to come down into Earth, but that would take a long time – years even.

"That's fire," the man who stood in awe said. "So you're really sponsored by a Neutrum god?"

"Yes," he answered. "But only few know about it, so please keep it as a secret."

"I will," he smiled.

Brook and David set out to return to back to the entrance of the nymph village. It took them shorter than what they had expected, and now, the same wall and guards greeted them as soon as they had arrived.

The guards, knowing who the two were, allowed them entry to the village. They went inside to the chieftain's manor. The two had explained what happened back there, and contentment was visible in the chief's eyes. This made David gnash his teeth, where the chief saw it and asked.

He made up some lie about leaving an important loot in the forest and dropped the matter immediately. The rewards were given to chief, and Brook also returned the essence to him.

"Oh, my," the chief said out lout. "A lost essence!"

The chief had not explained its use, but if Brook had known, he would've never given it to the chief. The chief went back to his own personal space and took something from it – Artemis' tears. The tears of a god are a blessed item that could increase the status of one.

Artemis' Tears [Consumable]

The love of Artemis for a mortal named Orion caused her to weep when she had found out he had died. The moon that was her temptation became her salvation.

Intake one drop and choose one stat to add 5 points.

Drops: 2/3

"Sorry," the chief apologized. "The other tear was consumed by one of our own. She was in bed rest, and the tears are the one that could improve her condition."

"It's okay, chief," said Brooke.

After that, the chief had issued out the rewards for completing the mission.

--- You received 750 EXP. You received the Skywalkers Boots, Nymph's Guidance, and Defender's Shield.

Skywalkers Boots [Imitation]

The Skywalkers, from the legends, were able to fly in the air without any use of magic. Ptah, the god of craftsmen, had a human apprentice that copied one of his famous works, but was limited to human capabilities.

You can double jump into the air once every two minutes.

Nymph's Guidance

The necklace done by a jeweler was blessed by one of the strongest nymphs that existed.

You're able to replenish all of your mana once a day.

Defender's Shield

Defenders were known to be valiant heroes in villages and cities. However, all that was left of the powerful class was remnants of their fights.

Increase Defense by 2.

"Thank you, chief!" Brook and David said in unison.

They had left the village and parted ways. Brook went back to their hideout to plan things in his mind as the trial is near. On the other hand, David resumed his activities in the guild. While walking through the tree, the entrance of their hidout which only allows entry to Neutrum sponsors, three shadows had spread out watching his move.

He turned back, feeling the killing intent from behind. To his disappointment, it was now gone, and he entered the hideout fatigued from the journey he just went through.

Despite being separated for now, the two will undergo a life-changing event in the future that would make them closer than ever.
