55 Chapter 055: Slaughter (Bonus Chapter)

Explosions resounded, and dozens of kunai, each bearing explosive tags, rained down from the sky, targeting various tents within the gathering area and causing chaos.

Iruka, Naruto, Sasuke, and Ginny were on the offensive, leaving no room for survivors.

Even Parker, although not the primary attacker among the summoning beasts, was swatting enemies aside with ease. As a ninja hound, his explosive power was no joke.

Charles observed the situation and saw armed gunmen emerging from a large tent. He started performing hand seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Gathering an enormous amount of chakra in his chest, Charles expelled it toward the tent. A massive fireball, over ten meters in diameter and crimson in color, formed instantaneously and hurtled toward the tent at breakneck speed.

The tent was instantly set ablaze, and the gunmen inside, unable to escape in time, were consumed by the flames, meeting a fiery demise.

Seeing the remarkable effectiveness of the Fire Release jutsu, Charles wasted no time and released five more Great Fireball jutsu in succession, turning the entire gathering area into an inferno.

Witnessing Charles's use of ninjutsu, Uchiha Sasuke also activated his Sharingan.

"Lightning Release: Chidori!"

Sasuke's hand crackled with lightning, and he sprinted like a bolt of lightning itself. With a cacophony of thunderous chirping birds, he killed any enemy in his path. In one fell swoop, he took down over a dozen foes.

Rock Lee, on the other hand, engaged in his Infinite Dance technique. He sent several enemies flying into the air, only for them to plummet lifelessly back to the ground, incapacitated by the impact.

Lee's attacks were so precise that one touch meant certain death.

Only Iruka was different, holding a kunai and dealing with enemies by swiftly and skillfully targeting their necks.

For the ninjas, these adversaries were exceptionally weak. Despite wearing bulletproof vests, their gear offered little protection against the ninja squad. Even their vests couldn't withstand the barrage of kunai and other attacks.

In the entire battlefield, Ginny might have been the closest to a "normal" enemy. If one overlooked her shooting skills and her bullets that curved like a boomerang, she would indeed seem quite regular.

In essence, Charles's team consisted solely of extraordinary individuals, and there wasn't a single regular person among them.

Before long, the elder's henchmen had been defeated, with only a few stragglers remaining, unable to put up effective resistance.

Charles entered the tent where John Wick was being held. As he stepped inside, he saw John Wick pointing his gun at an Arab man seated in a chair.

"John, I told you that as long as you find the Elder, we'll be here on time. I didn't disappoint you, did I?" Charles smiled calmly.

John Wick replied in a calm tone, "BOSS, your strength is indeed impressive. You saved one of my fingers just in time."

Charles knew that if he had arrived just a few seconds later, John Wick's index finger would have been history, permanently.

Approaching the Arab man who sat in the chair, Charles said, "I presume this gentleman is one of the twelve controllers of the High Table, one of the Elders."

As he spoke, the gunfire outside grew fainter until it ceased entirely. Following the screams, there were no more sounds of gunshots or bullets being fired.

The Elder, seated in the chair, remained composed and asked, "I recognize you, Charles Doyle, a legendary assassin in the underworld, and you've even earned the title of Number One Hitman recently. Are you planning to betray the High Table?"

To this question from the High Table Elder, Charles wore a faint smile and replied, "No, it's not betrayal, but my aim is to become one of the High Table's Elders, to gain one of the twelve seats. How can you call that betrayal?"

Due to John Wick's vigilant watch, the Elder was unaware of how Charles and his team had annihilated his henchmen. He assumed they had brought reinforcements.

Then he shook his head and said, "Charles, you should know that these people outside aren't the true power of the High Table, and they aren't even my full strength. It's impossible to gain one of the twelve seats by slaughtering them."

Charles smiled and replied, "You don't need to worry about that. What you need to do is take us to the real headquarters of the High Table."

Clearly, Charles didn't believe that this outpost was the true headquarters of the High Table. A campsite with no defenses, exposed tents, and just a pavilion—could this really be the High Table's headquarters?

Just as the Elder was about to speak, Ginny, Iruka, and the others walked in one after another.

The Elder looked at everyone and then considered his own situation. He spoke, "I can take you to the headquarters, but you must not harm me."

Seeing that the Elder, who had yet to be tortured, was willing to lead them back to the headquarters, Charles thought to himself, "Interesting!"

"Alright, we won't harm you. Just take us to the High Table's headquarters. You need to convene a high-level meeting."

The Elder slowly got up, walked out of the building, and looked outside. His gaze fell on the raging flames, collapsed tents, and craters left by the explosions. He then turned to Charles, puzzled, and asked, "Did you come with just five people?"

He had gathered nearly 200 subordinates here, and while they didn't have heavy weapons, they had plenty of handguns and rifles. Killing 200 sheep shouldn't have been this quick with just five people, right?

Charles smiled and replied, "It's not just five of us; there's also a ninja dog."

At this point, Parker also walked in and said, "Lord Charles, I rounded up several panicked camels and brought them back. You might need these for transportation later."

Not only the Elder but even John Wick stared in astonishment at the talking Ninja dog.

After all, John had seen Charles walking the dog before. He had met him because he saw Charles walking his dog. But John Wick knew that now was not the time to dwell on these matters.

Upon hearing Parker's words, Charles thanked him, saying, "Thank you for your hard work, Parker. There shouldn't be any immediate danger here. You can return for now."

Parker replied, "If you need me, please summon me at any time."

With a bang, Parker disappeared in a puff of smoke, right before the eyes of everyone present.

At this moment, the Elder's pupils contracted. This scene was even more surprising than a talking dog, and it made him realize that there was more to Charlotte than met the eye.

He turned back and gave Charlotte a deep look before saying, "The journey ahead may be long. Everyone, follow me."
