23 Tit for Tat

After reaching his home, Samuel somehow felt guilty about making Susan work so hard. Deep inside, he felt happy that Susan didn't disappoint him when it was about work but she seemed to become him, a workaholic.

And probably after the kiss, both had become so uncomfortable around each other that they had surrounded themselves with nothing other than work.Though the quarterly results also paid off and everything was working fine for him, but he felt he owed Susan an explanation since he had initiated the kiss. And moreover, he was not sure why Susan kissed him back, did she just went with the flow or had genuine feelings for him. He needed to discover this, maybe then things will be sorted off.

But he needed some place, other than his office to have this private conversation. Maybe not in this city. He had a plan, he called Eva.

Next day, as soon as Susan reached office, Eva came to her desk. She handed her tickets , " Hey, please leave for airport right now. The flight will leave in 4 hours. "

Eva turned to leave, when Susan called out, "What ? Where? I don't get it."

"What do you mean you don't get it? Weren't you suppose to join Samuel for his next business deal at Paris? "

"Me, when was this decided?"

Eva checked on her forehead, "Are you fine, or are you suffering from amnesia after recovering from fever?"

"Eva, I am allright, I am serious , I didn't know about this business trip at all till now.I didn't get my stuff also, how can I leave directly to airport from here?"

Just then , her mobile beeped . It was message from Samuel, " Leave for airport asap. Take the extra pair of clothes you keep in the office locker; rest we can do shopping post the presentation tomorrow."

Susan had no other choice but to leave. As soon as she boarded the flight, she changed her seat. Instead of the business class, she switched to ecomony class with an old lady. Samuel was waiting for her besides him when the old lady sat. Before he could ask the lady, his mobile beeped, "Sorry but I am more comfortable in economy and the lady is old ; it's better she can travel more comfortably."

This time Samuel didn't have any choice but to travel with the old lady who constantly kept chattering throughout the flight.
