8 The Offer

While preparing for the event, Susan realized she almost forgot about her interview. Just when she was about to dial a number, she realized Samuel had asked her to schedule interview of her & one more candidate.

She started biting her nails out of nervousness.when Samuel poked her from behind & said, "Forget about scheduling interviews of those 2 candidates, send them a apology letter saying hiring is freezed as of now & we shall communicate later on in case we have an opening again."

Susan was confused, had Samuel know she was one of them and got angry that she didn't disclose this fact. But in last 24 hours, she never mentioned her name nor he asked her. While bookinh the flight ticket he had

just given her his credit card. Just when she was thinking that there was no way he can know , Samuel spoke, "And I have an offer for you. I would like to hire you as an associate event manager for my company. You will be on probation for 3 months & if your performance is satisfactory, your employement will be permanent with Amazing Fireworks, so you are ready for this opportunity?."

It took a while for Susan to process this information, she was out of nervousness nodding her head and Samuel took it as a yes.

He took out the offer letter from his pocket which had all details of the terms & conditions of employement including compensation details except her name. It was blank, she was looking into the blank space and Samuel could see the confusion in her eyes. He said,"I am really sorry, I didn't know your name when that's the first thing I should have asked you. So, I kept it blank. What's your name?"

After a brief pause, Susan added, "It's Susan, Susan Jonas". Samuel looked at her, he felt the name familiar & then he realized she was one of the candidates his secretary was mentioning about last morning.
