4 One Condition

But as soon as Susan mentioned about alimony, she realized that Samuel had mentioned about one condition. She was thinking what it could be when Samuel spoke, "Your demands are apt, afterall the expenses of child needs to be catered. But I have a condition now."

After a brief pause, Samuel continued, "I will divorce you only after the baby is born and the legal custody of the baby will be mine. You can stay with the baby as care-taker, and my baby should never know you are his or her mother."

Susan was shocked, she felt choking. She never imagined that she won't be able to call her baby as hers. She felt it was better had Samuel not known about the existence of the baby. She had imagined that since Samuel didn't want her in his life anymore, she didn't want to burden him with the responsibilities of a child.

But here, he was more interested in his child than her and was just using her as a puppet according to his wish. She didn't have any choice than to agree to his condition since she very well knew his power & reach. Even she tried to fight legally with him for the custody of her baby, she didn't have the resources for the same & may eventually lose the right to see her baby. Atleast ,Samuel had allowed her to be the caretaker,this way she would be able to be close to her baby.

Susan nodded her head, seeing this Samuel was bit upset. He had always seen Susan one of those determined not to give up, but here she agreed readily to a condition which would have shredded her heart into pieces.

Truth was after known about the baby, Samuel didn't want to divorce Susan at all. He wanted to see them having a family & leading a happy family. He even got in touch with a rehab center to get over his addiction. But somehow he couldn't admit this to Susan . If Susan had once asked him to stop this divorce, he would have teared the pre-nuptial agreement into pieces & flushed out.

This was the reason he had kept heartless condition, expecting Susan to stop the divorce. But she had unexpectedly agreed.

He could see the sadness in her eyes, but he couldn't soothe her this time since it was him who caused this. He had hurt her time & again so much that she had lost the reason to fight back even now.

Helplessly, Samuel replied, "OK. I will get the papers ready accordingly" & left the room.
