Life before Academy (3)

"What do you think father?" Klaus asked when they were alone in his father's office.

Elloden thought for a minute before responding, "You do have a knack for cooking and creating new dishes. I thought you were playing all the time you spent in the kitchen before. Now I see that you have thought about this restaurant long before you came to me."

"I believed that you just wanted to escape but I see that you are truly interested in this. So I agree to this but when you reach sixteen, you still have to attend the academy."

"Thank you Father", Klaus said, though he had no idea why his father made a condition on attending the academy. Though Klaus wanted to leave the Archduchy Inheritance race, he still need the academy to grow stronger, albeit quietly.

"So, you proved you know how to cook. Do you know how to operate a business?" his father asked.

"Though I can be considered a novice in that path, I can hire people to work for me. A few key people had to sign a magic contract and the others need only to sign a normal contract. Of course, the ones who signed the magic contract would be important ones and would receive higher salaries."

"Hmm, you seem to have learned something from the books. Tomorrow, Alden would give you the necessary money to start your business. This money is an investment and I assume that you would return the amount at a later date. There will be no interest or due date for you to repay."

"Thanks again Father", Klaus bowed to his father as a sign of respect.

After speaking some ins and outs Klaus left the office towards his room.

Klaus was happy that his father agreed about the restaurant business. He was more ecstatic about what he heard after his father approved.

He read about this in many light novels, a notification sound. After leaving his father's office he quickly left for his room. Once inside he closed the doors. He didn't want anyone to enter his room while he was busy checking the notifications.

Though it is mentioned in the light novels that the status window would only be visible to the user, he was not sure about that. Not until he verifies it, he wouldn't want to open it before others for them to see. Even if it is invisible, if anyone comes in and sees me spacing out into the air, they would think I lost my mind which wouldn't be good.

After sitting on his bed, he immediately checked the notifications.

<You have completed the hidden condition.>

<System is awakening...>

<System is bonding with the host...>

<System bonded>

<Host has been awarded the Sin of Gluttony>

<You got the passive skill, Touch of Gluttony>

[Touch of Gluttony: The quality of food made by you would exceed by one level. The skill can't be upgraded.]

<You got the passive skill, Will of Gluttony>

[Will of Gluttony: Any quality food consumed would be converted into Sin Points. The conversion rate increases with the increase of your Intelligence. The skill can't be upgraded.]

<For clearing the hidden condition for system awakening before time, you have been awarded Sin of Sloth>

<You got the passive skill, Will of Sloth>

[Will of Sloth: A qualitative sleep would generate Sin Points. The skill can't be upgraded.]

<You got the passive skill, Touch of Sloth>

[Touch of Sloth: You can make others sleepy by physically touching them. If the opponent has less than half of your Intelligence, you can put them to eternal sleep. The skill can't be upgraded.]

<The system has awakened before time. The system will return to slumber and would be awakened later than the established time.>

<You'll still have access to the status window. Other features of the system would be locked out.>

'This is great and cumbersome at the same time.'

Klaus doesn't know what to think. He got a system like a protagonist of a light novel but this is where the problem lies.

He didn't create the system. Someone or something made this, which means it is watching him. He has no idea what that being's intentions were.

Moreover, a protagonist means all troubles in the world would come to his doorstep one way or another. It's like the saying No Rest for the Wicked.

With the help of the system, he could turn those misfortunes into fortunes but the system went back to sleep.

There was a notification that said it was awakened before time and now it would wake later than the predetermined time. He didn't know the original time when it was supposed to activate and now it would wake up much later.

This is a headache. A headache he has to ignore for now and concentrate on other things. When the time comes for the system to wake up, he would know more about the questions in his mind. For now, he decided to earn sin points, which he presumed could be used to increase his power at a later date.
