That's great. I glanced over to Savannah. She would wake up soon. I stood up, and strode over to my bag. Picking it up, and pulling it further into the cave as I opened it up.

I pulled my spare set of clothes out of the bag, and switched back to my human form. It felt like it had been so long since I'd last walked on two legs. I'd lost my shoes, and any body armor I'd had before. I pulled my pants on, and hung my shirt over my shoulder as I searched through my bag for anything else I could use.

"You're awake," Savannah leaned up rubbing her eyes, "I was halfway expecting you to still be a big scary monster."

"I'm not a monster," I stood up, and stretched.

My back popped a few times.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Savannah got up slowly.

I pulled the shirt off my shoulder, and turned to look at her. Her eyes dropped as she looked me up, and then down. Her eyes pausing on my shoulder.

"What?" I looked down to see what she was looking at.

The two fang marks, and grey lines going away from them like cracks were clearly visible on my shoulder. I looked as far as I could over my shoulder, and saw that there were similar marks on my back as well. The Basilisk did have four fangs so it made sense, but I didn't understand why my camouflage form was scarred. System why is my camouflage form scarred?

User sustained a great deal of poison damage. Damage has permanently scarred user.

Well shit. I ran my finger along the edges of the crack like scars up to the puncture scars. The texture of this skin was different then the rest of my skin. It felt almost like stone. It was also a few degrees colder than the rest of my skin.

I really didn't know what to think about this odd skin of mine. I decided it was a waste of time for my to keep worrying about it, and shook my shirt out. Pulling it on quickly as I got ready to leave the cave. I didn't know how long I'd been out, but I was hungry now.

"I need to get something to eat," I straightened my shirt as I walked toward the entrance of the cave.

The dead Basilisk was beginning to smell now, but its body was still relatively whole. I climbed up, and over its body. I liked the way the sunlight felt on my skin. I smelled the fresh air as it blew over me. I jumped off of the Basilisks massive body, and waited for Savannah to catch up.

She was slower, and weaker than me. I shifted my bag so it was securely on my shoulders.

"Do you want your gun back?" Savannah held it out to me.

"No," I pulled the last clip out, and handed it to her, "I don't need it."

"You're sure?" Savannah accepted the clip slowly.

"Yeah," I formed my ice sword, and looked at it funny.

"Is something wrong?" Savannah looked at the blade carefully, "That's a really nice elemental blade."

"It's better than I remember," I swung it experimentally.

I still liked the feel of it so I didn't really care that it had gotten more solid. It felt as if it were sharper as well. I got moving quickly. My stomach growled as I walked through the forest. I could handle myself, but stopping, and waiting for Savannah was holding me up.

"You're slow," I looked back at Savannah as I waited for her again.

"No," Savannah looked at me with a kind of done with it all look, "You're freakishly fast."

"Maybe I am," I got moving again.

Being freakishly fast worked in my favor. I kept switching from infrared to normal vision. I really wanted to be sure I knew exactly what was coming before it was on top of me. I used every time Savannah stopped as an opportunity to survey the area.

"Can you move any faster?" I was just saying it to pick on her at this point.

"Are you trying to piss me off?" Savannah gave me that look, "Or are you just doing this to make fun of me?"

"You tell me," I genuinely smiled at her.

She saw the smile, and looked stunned.

"I didn't know you could do that," Savannah smiled back.

"Do what?" My face went blank again.

"Smile," Savannah let her own smile drop.

User can now form trust bond with Savannah Earl. Would user like to form trust bond with Savannah?

(Yes) (No)

System I thought I was at my limit for trust bonds already.

User has level 10 xp, and is ready for evolution. Available trust bonds 1/2.

"There's something I can do," I waited until she was on top of me, "It'll protect you from my magic, but it's not something that I can just remove without any side effects."

"What exactly is it?" Savannah looked at me skeptically.

"It's called a trust bond," I looked at her seriously for a moment, "I can't hurt people I'm bonded to, and they can't hurt me."

"You're not human are you?" Savannah's brow scrunched slightly.

"No," I looked her in the eye, "No I'm not. I thought the whole transformation thing gave it away."
