I spent the whole day hypnotizing her for hours. Only stopping when she needed to eat, and when she decided that she needed a chair. I didn't complain since I was repeatedly hypnotizing her. The skill hit level ten rather quickly, and stopped there giving me the option to evolve it.

Mesmerizing eyes level 1 - There's a reason they say its dangerous to look a dragon in the eye. This skill allows the user to stun or hypnotize individuals by looking them in the eye. Stun effect lasts until eye contact is broken. Hypnotism effects depend heavily on the will of the one being hypnotized. Strong willed individuals are more difficult, and can be impossible to hypnotize.

Damn. The skill might not even work on him. I left Savannah alone after the skill evolved. She looked slightly confused by the irritation I was feeling. She didn't know why I'd stopped.

I could try to explain it to her, but I didn't see much of a point. I now had a new skill to level up. My wings twitched as I walked back outside. Jax was still in the modified offices that we'd made our home while we were here. I started doing the exercise again.

I was using water to do the exercise. I briefly wondered if I could use multiple elements to speed up my progress. I started doing the exercise using fire as the sun. Then a planet made of water. The second planet was made of ice.

A third made of stone. The forth made of light. The fifth made of darkness. It was beginning to get really difficult to control all these elements at once. I pushed forward.

The more difficult it was the faster I would advance. I made the sixth our of fire. I wasn't bothering with the air right now. I managed to made another one of water before losing control of my mana. I snorted in irritation.

I sensed the earth great before I saw him. My eyes focused on him slowly. The man looked at me as if I were scum of the universe. I locked eyes with him, and his whole body went stiff. I didn't hypnotize him.

That meant he was stunned. I smirked slowly as I approached the man. He tried to break free of my control, but his body barely twitched. As long as our eyes were locked he wouldn't be able to move. My tail twitched when I was close enough for my breath to ruffle his clothes.

"I don't like liars," I snorted.

"I didn't lie," He seemed slightly surprised that he could still talk.

"I'm certain that you, and Jax are not related," I slowly moved my talon close to his body.

Blood was the easiest way to test my theory. Using my talon would be a bad idea. That might be considered a bit aggressive considering the fact that I just wanted a little blood. I formed a hollow ice needle, and an ice cup for collection. Piercing the tip of his finger with the needle, and allowing the blood to flow.

I focused on keeping the ice frozen until I had about an ounce of blood. I dropped the needle since I no longer needed it. I blinked, and the earth great was out of my control. He looked pissed. I walked away from him calmly as if he couldn't do a single thing about what I'd just done.

I snarled when he started gathering mana. My cold blue eye locked on him again. Freezing him up again.

"I wouldn't do anything stupid if I were you," I made sure to show him all of my teeth.

Another blink set him free again. I stepped through the door, and grabbed a real cup. One I wouldn't have to worry about melting.

{Jax would you come here,} I called him mentally.

He didn't flinch away from me mentally anymore when I spoke to him. I waited for him patiently. He walked through the doors into the warehouse with very little hesitation.

"What do you want?" He looked a little irritated.

The irritation didn't extend far past his face.

"You can use this to test," I handed him the cup I was holding gingerly in my claws, "His blood can't lie. If I'm wrong then I made a mistake. If I'm not then I don't think you should go anywhere alone with him."

A dark look clouded his face. He didn't want to do this. He didn't want to know if the man that raised him had lied about being his grandfather. Knowing for sure might destroy any good memories he might have of the man. It sounded as if he'd been raised since birth by the man.

At the very least he'd been raised since before he could remember anyone else. I'd never heard him talking about a father or a mother. Jax took it reluctantly. I didn't like putting him through this, but I didn't really have a choice. He needed to know the truth, and I couldn't allow him to be stuck in a cycle of lies.

The sooner he got closure the sooner he's make up his damn mind. I was getting tired of having him halfway blame me for things, and halfway feel guilty for taking something from me. I still wasn't sure what he was going to decide. I started to feel a bit guilty about leaving Aurora to care for the egg. I remembered how much it stung to have my egg pouch stretched like that.

I needed to wait a while longer. I wanted the earth great to leave before we did. I didn't want him around to whisper in Calen's ear. He would probably try to set up some sort of ambush for me. I looked around the guild.

Their trade had picked up now that the lizardmen had started trading cores for things. They'd take a particular interest in the devices that converted the magic energy from cores to light. Calen was slowly starting to turn a profit from the small lamps. The blacksmiths were working full time, and alternating between creating good armor, and the lamps. Stronger cores were used to make armor while the weaker ones were to make more of the lamps.
