Whatever happens to you, once you have hope you will survive.

I woke up in a hospital bed with handcuffs made of some stretchy cloth material tying me down to the bed. My entire right arm including my hand was in a cast. I was now regretting trying to catch that punch, looking at that cast and was trying not to remember how that day had ended. I was feeling thirsty and saw a bottle and it was on the table on my right. What kind of idiot was this person keeping a bottle of water for me on the side that had my entire arm in a cast? I tried to reach over to the bottle with my left hand but the stretchy handcuff wasn't stretchy enough. I tried to speak but my throat was too dry and I was now getting a little angry so I pushed energy into my left arm and forced my hand to slowly reach towards the bottle and picked it up and slowly brought it back to my side and then stopped the energy flow.

The door opened and a man came in who had an eye patch on his left eye and clapped his hands as he came and sat down on the sofa next to the bed I was lying down on. I ignored him and opened the bottle top and tried to drink the water and that had the same issue so I pushed energy into my arm again and slowly drank the water and emptied out the entire bottle. Then I laid back and started pushing energy through my body slowly and figured out the difference between how the 2 forced enhanced modes worked. The new one had a distinct disadvantage that I think Eva had too, it consumed not just the exotic energy from me but my energy meaning stamina as well so I would get tired quickly but she probably was a much more efficient than me.

The man must have decided he was done with all his dramatics so he said: "Well done Agent Nightshade on the assignment in Bahrain as well as the amazing skill you just showed in retrieving that bottle."

"OK, Thank you director Fury, Why do I have the pleasure of this meeting?"

"Well I am here for the debrief of your mission, So let's get to it."

"How is Agent May and where is Agent Coulson?"

"Agent May is fine, Agent Coulson is around somewhere here, he will be here soon."

"So why am I doing the debrief with you instead of Agent Coulson?"

"Agent Coulson wanted to recommend you to a specialized team that will be called in under certain circumstances. So I am here to evaluate you for the position on the team. It's a team that will be handled by Agent Coulson, so you still will be working with him while working with team and rest of the time he will still be your SO till you decide to get a new assignment. So we will start with this mission, tell me everything about the mission."

"Unlike my other missions, It was weird and dangerous right from the start. When we arrived there the area was already dangerous and as you might know, things went from bad to worse as that little girl got kidnapped or so we thought. When I went in with Agent May we found members of our breach team who were under the control of that little girl so we had to knock them out. That was a tough fight since we didn't want to cause too much damage. Then we had to fight the gangsters and this time we didn't care and unleashed a lot of damage as we went through them. Agent May figured out that I am not very efficient so I was taking on all the stronger opponents while she took out the rest of the people almost twice as many in the same time duration. The actual problem came up in the basement where there were 5 gangsters and Eva with the little girl. I saw 2 huge guys and jumped on them to knock them out quickly while Agent May attacked the other 3 of which one actually had the pistol. I took out the 2 guys surprisingly quickly but was attacked by Eva. So here is where things got complicated. The next part will depend on how much you know about my abilities, so what do you know?"

"We had a meeting before this meeting was assigned to you so I know everything Coulson knew till before you were assigned this mission."

"OK that makes things easier, all the enhanced that I met in our meetings, I scanned them but it didn't really tell me anything. I wasn't even able to tell them apart from any normal person even when they were using their abilities. What was different with this one was I didn't get anything in the passive scan, but I scanned her like I usually do when a person uses their ability. When she was going to attack me I scanned her and suddenly lots of information about how I could use my exotic energy to gain enhanced strength. This technique was a really bad idea, it enhances my muscles and tendons allowing me to exert a lot of force but unlike Eva, it consumes a lot of energy and stamina for me and it doesn't make my body able to take the damage like Eva can as you can see with this stupid broken arm."

"So you caught her punch and it broke your arm?"

"Yes Well you know it's not an exact science alright, I only get a feeling of how to use it and what it will do. I figured if she could Punch a car in half I would be fine. Unfortunately, it was a bad idea and I broke everything on my right arm, but I punched her and knocked her out so that was good. But then the thing with the little girl happened and I am not really sure if I would have been able to do what Agent May did and I am not sure what I would have done at that time. We really need a nonlethal option to take down enemies or targets that we need to keep alive."

"We have people working on it, did this help with any other abilities you could acquire? "

"No, not really, moreover this ability is also difficult to use as I would hurt myself if I used this strength to hit something or someone. What's next then?"

The door opened and Dr. Kavita walked in and shouted: "Hey didn't I tell you to let him rest, he has been sedated for almost 2 weeks and you are having an interrogation with him."

"I have been out for 2 weeks? Why didn't you tell me? Also, why was I sedated for 2 weeks?"

"I have everything I needed for my evaluation, I will let Dr. Kavita take care of you and Agent Coulson will get back to you on it."

"Let me get you out of those straps."

"Why was I strapped in?"

"When you were brought in you were asleep and knocked out, so we fixed your arm and added the cast. We had to strap you in that night because you started shouting and thrashing in your sleep about saving some little girl. It kept happening once every few hours so we sedated you and got you out every 2 days to make sure you were ok. Today is the 1st time you actually stopped having the night terrors."

"Oh right that, I thought that was just nightmares, didn't know that I was shouting out loud and moving in my sleep. I am fine now though. "

"Fine really, Don't worry before you are qualified for field work you have to complete the physical and mental evaluation."

"Oh come on I knew this would happen. I really am fine, I may be distraught about what happened and I am scared about what I would do if I was in that situation again. But for now, since I didn't actually do anything in the situation, I am more worried about Agent May."

"OK I believe you but the evaluations are mandatory. On the other hand, your arm will be in that cast for at least a month. So relax here and keep enjoying that TV, exercise a bit and read a few books."
