It's not an experiment if you know it's going to work.

Early the next morning I was in the Lab Conference room and I was waiting for everyone to arrive, most of the researchers had arrived and we were waiting for The team lead, Nebula and Nikki to arrive. He was going to be showing them around and giving them a tour around the facility and get them access to the computer systems in the labs.

After half an hour, Jimmy walked in with both Nebula and Nikki. He was the head of this Energy lab and was one of the laziest geniuses I have ever met. Mr. James Milton is the world's foremost living authority now on exotic particles research, except the fact that his list of responsibilities is only to manage this lab and run the few tests that SHIELD asked him to consult on. So he goes around checking up on everyone's experiments for safety as well as giving out a few suggestions here and there. He also likes to be called Jimmy by everyone. This lazy and colorful man was excited and skipping as he walked into the room with Nebula and Nikki.

"Alright everyone is here so let's get started, you can call me Jimmy, this here with me are 2 of the newest students who are going to join The Academy's Science and Technology Division Nebula and Nikki. As you all can see I am very excited to work with them as the intersection of both of their work seems to be well matched with my specialty and our very generous test subject Agent Nightshade here. I would like to thank Agent Nightshade for this opportunity for running this small project with him or rather on him, HAHA."

Everyone laughed at his joke and I smiled and said: "OK, now I am all for this but please remember I am the senior Agent on this or at least will be in a week or 2 so you all can't just willy nilly run tests on me like a pet mouse. Alright so here is the deal, you all now have access to the abilities section of my profile on the internal directory now apart from my basic info unless you have level 5 which I suppose only Jimmy has. You all know all of my abilities now as much as I and Agent Coulson have been able to work out together, please go ahead and decide on what tests you want to run on the energy and try and make sure it's not too dangerous. There are a few test recommendations I have but I have been there was an incident in my last mission and my actions led to me being given a red mark on my profile. That is a level 5 classified detail that I am allowed to divulge but no one under level 6 can access on their own. I am sure you can look up what that red mark means but in the meanwhile I am prohibited from doing any unsupervised tests with my abilities without them being approved by 2 people and so I have here the list of tests. "

Jimmy walked up to me and took the list from me and said: "Alright I will take that list and will assign people on things to work on and setup stuff. In the meantime, you will go and relax and enjoy your vacation till you are needed for these tests and experiments"

"I am leaving now to test out the new flight simulator and finish getting accredited for the Quinjet."

Jimmy was surprised and said: " You are learning to fly the jet and are already on the sims, how did you manage that with a red mark that's dangerous stuff."

"Hey like I was saying I only got it with regards to my abilities, I am fine as long as I don't use them. I will tell you the details in private Jimmy."

Then I left to practice on the Jet simulator and left the scientists to figure out their work. Over the week I completed the simulator program and passed the certification exam. I also finished a few of the evaluations that were pending for my Level 5 clearance in between my practices on the Jet Sim. A lot of these were lie detector based interrogations or what they were officially called "Evaluations with Honesty detection". By the end of the week, my evaluations were complete and I was given the clear for a Level 5 clearance.

I was also sent a message that the team was ready with the tests and experiments and so Monday morning I was in the lab waiting to run through the tests. After everyone was in Jimmy and Nebula had me take off my shirt and get seated on a chair and they hooked me up to a lot of machines to track my vitals as well as the exotic energy emissions.

After everything was hooked up to the machines and Jimmy said: "We can start now, so we will start with the tests on your exotic energy. Since now you can hold the energy on the surface of your skin the tests will be able to check on the energy and we can run the tests. The issue is since these will be run on you directly, there is a risk that it might hurt you so you are connected up to all these machines and we have 2 doctors on stand by."

Then the tests started, there were a lot of tests conducted every day, it took almost 2 and a half weeks to complete all the tests and experiments that they wanted to conduct. After all the tests having been run and all the experiments they wanted were tried, we ended up finding out only one thing apart from proving all of my conjectures of how my abilities worked and that is my exotic energy was so completely useless outside my body except for annihilating dead organic matter. That also we knew before but we did confirm no matter what living tissue wasn't damaged at all.

After we finished the team's planned tests Nikki wanted to test if her conversion machine would actually work with my exotic energy since most other tests yielded no results at all she was worried that it might not work with it. There was a lot of construction involved in building the conversion machine and I helped Nikki build it and she modified the way for it to accept the energy for my use. There were a lot of changes she knew she could make that would make it smaller but less efficient, she also had a much larger budget which allowed her to make it much smaller but still didn't make it loose as much efficiency. It took 2 days to set up everything and build it as well as make a few improvements with the help of the rest of the team and when it was ready it was the size of a large suitcase and shaped like a donut, it had a very thick belt that was tied around my chest and connected to the donut that I was standing within. This device now was on a stand and the team had estimated what their conversion ratio would be was between 0.2% to 0.3%. They had connected this to a huge battery cluster that could connect to and fly the Quinjet for twice as long as it's one full tank of fuel.

We started the charging and they measured my output and measured the electricity produced and stored in their battery cluster. It took me almost 2 hours to charge the battery cluster and the efficiency of conversion came out to 0.27% which wasn't that bad. Jimmy and Nikki were surprised and the doctors were worried if using up that much energy was a good idea so once I was done charging the doctors got me to sit there in the medical chair and have multiple tests to make sure it didn't have any side effects.

After they were done, I went to see what Jimmy had on next for me and Jimmy and the doctors forced me to go back to my room and go sleep. I got up and went to meet them the next day and they told me they have installed the entire setup with the battery cluster and the converter into the Quinjet, so the range of a single flight of the Quinjet was almost 3 times as much as before.

Then we went back down and assembled the team back up to make a decision on my list of tests and experiments. The doctors, Jimmy and Nebula vetoed out all of my tests as too dangerous unless there was an emergency except one test which I insisted on since I had already done that one before unintentionally. They deliberated for some time and said they will set it up for the next day and then I went back to reading more files in my room from the other agents that were currently on a mission and had met more enhanced individuals. They had met a few people that had extremely minor abilities who they expected would make good agents so they got recruited too.

The next day I was really excited about the test and then when everyone was ready I was again connected to all the medical equipment which I was pretty sure was going to be ruined by the test but the doctors, Jimmy and Nebula were very insistent on it. The test was simple, I was going to get hit with electricity with an increasing amount to see how much I could stand.

First, they started off with a mechanism connected with a regulator and taped the 2 leads to my arm which I made them move to my stomach after much discussion. They started off slow and kept increasing it till they reached the point where they were at the levels of a taser and Nebula suddenly got an excited look on her face and stopped the experiment and left with Jimmy and a few others. They came back in after an hour and told me to come back tomorrow and left again without saying anything else.

I shouted towards them "Hey I am the team lead here tell me what you are doing."

Nebula shouted as she was leaving "sure honey, sure you are, go rest and play your video games."

"Hey I am not your honey and I am a level 5 agent and I don't play video games, it's a flight simulator, I can actually fly the plane."

There was no reply and I was alone in that lab now. So I just went up to the Quinjet and flew around and went and saw the Great Wall of China from the air and then went to see the Pyramids. I then flew around the world for 2 days seeing all the wonders of the world. I also created a video of all the places I saw and then emailed it to the entire team with a message.

"You could have been here if you were nice to me!!!"

Then landed the Jet back in the hanger and went down to the lab. They were all busy and as soon as I walked in they all glared at me but no one said anything and just got me strapped in again in a different lab with a lot of cameras and machines pointed at me.

"Night we are now set up to try and monitor to see what happens too the electricity that you are absorbing somehow."

Then the experiment continued but no one spoke to me, they kept for almost an hour or 2, it might have been 3 hours. At one point I fell asleep and they woke me up in the evening and everything had been cleaned up and just Jimmy and Nebula were there.

"Hey it was good, we figured out what was happening and so we ran a few more experiments while you were asleep. What we figured out is that your exotic energy naturally absorbs any external energy that enters your body. we tested with electricity and 2 other types of exotic energy as well a little bit of radiation that we felt could be safely done. So that is good for you if you coat yourself in that energy anything energy based should be completely safe for you. By our estimates, you could survive exposure levels from radiation at the center of a nuclear explosion. You could literally walk into a nuclear power plant while coated with this energy and not be affected by the radiation. Please do remember the heat and other factors will still have the same effect except for the radiation. The heat will obviously have a less effect due to the energy cover but it's not that efficient."

"WOW!! That is so cool, also you hit me with radiation? What happened to get my consent before that stupid test."

"Meh, it was safe according to the tests we did earlier."

"Really that's all you have to say?"

She didn't respond and just left again with Jimmy. This was getting out of hand, but all my tests were done and I would be back on the job as everything was complete.
