21 Don't pick a job with great vacation time. Pick one that doesn't need escaping from.

"So tell me, Agent Nightshade, What have you been up to here for the last 26 weeks?"

"I trained a lot and learnt a lot, but the combat instructors were really puzzled. As you have realized I learn this stuff pretty quickly so some of them thought either I was playing a prank or as a freshman some seniors had set me up for it. I would start the combat training class and not doing so well in the beginning and by the third class, I was reaching levels of complete mastery of the techniques in the spars, even beating out the trainers sometimes just by brute force. The other one was the 3 obstacle courses where I set the record. That one was really funny, these courses are set up in the same way here and at the Operations Academy which everyone can compete for the best times. There was this senior in his final semester and had set a new record. I saw him do it once live as he broke his record on one of them. So I went ahead and applied what I had learnt from him and since in terms of pure physical specs I am much better and I copied the skills needed to complete it from him I broke his record in one then he tried to set a new record in the 2 tougher ones but was just short. So I went and set a new record in both of them. He broke my record on the 1st one 2 weeks ago and I went and broke it again. He is very angry and doesn't know who I am. He then barely managed to break it again last week and as soon as he came down, I went up and this time broke the record by a huge margin. No one is going to be breaking that record now."

He smiled at that and said: "That's good but you might have to work with these people or even lead them one day so it is not a good idea to antagonize them so much. Now it's time to come clean about the extra abilities that you have."

"OK, so here is the deal, ill tell you everything if it will remain between us. I can guarantee that it is just my rate of improvement is affected to superhuman levels and nothing else so I am a no bigger threat than any other of the top level Specialists that graduate from The Academy. I already know I am on the index with a low-level threat rating and since I joined up with you the threat level will increase but my point is ill stay on level with you, as soon as I figure out a way that I am a bigger threat to anyone by getting any abilities that are stronger than a very well trained human ill tell you immediately."

"That I can agree to since I can keep a watch on you as long as you are on my team, but this way you will be on my team for a long time. Your speed of promotion might slow down because of this. "

"That is perfectly fine, as long as your judgement is who is deciding things I am fine with it since I trust you to do the right thing."

"So let's get out of here and I'll show you where you will be staying and give you the basics, then you can tell me all about your abilities."

So we came to an apartment building in New Jersey, it was a very nice building with a doorman and even a receptionist. Then we went up to the apartment and it was a smaller a[artment next to the fire escape in corner of the building, I liked that, it was picked out to be for good escape routes and watching the elevator and the stairwell at the same time providing cover against enemy fire.

The apartment was a small 1 bedroom with open hall and kitchenette about 650 sq feet. It was fully furnished like a model home. Then Agent Coulson walked up to the island in the kitchen and said: "Here is your stuff, your new bank account details with a debit card and a company credit card. That credit card will be paid off by the company so you better use it only for official purposes. Your salary will directly be deposited in the bank account. The laptop there is set up with your eye scan to unlock and you can use it for your personal work as well, it has all the files on your banking, salary and other details, for filing your taxes there is a software installed on it. There is also a booklet for vehicle acquisitions in case you need a personal one, the company works with us to make changes according to our specs for safety. Also, the apartment is fully stocked, there is a cleaning company that comes in twice a week to clean up but they won't be stocking up on anything so you will have to learn to do that on your own. They also have put a few clothes in the wardrobe and a travel suitcase has been packed for you, that's as an example to show you how to do it. Also, you have 3 days to get set up before you are on active assignment. Any questions?"

"Do they do this for everyone? "

"No not really, since you are so young and less experienced you will obviously be paid less than others and also a lot of people really liked you at the academy so they pulled some strings to get things set up for you to make it more convenient."

"Oh, could you thank them on my behalf. OK then let's get to it, my abilities, I noticed that as long as that energy is flowing in my body I improve at an incredible speed in every way. It improves memory and cognition, helps learn things faster and let me improve my physique at a much faster rate but it has a few drawbacks. The energy while staying in my body creates a sort of resonance allowing me to scan everyone in a 100-meter radius for their physical capabilities. The scan is passive for anyone that is better than me in terms of physical capabilities, but I can actively scan through walls and everything in between to know how many people are within that radius and how strong they are. There is limiting factor that I can scan only humans, I went to the zoo to check but even apes and chimps don't show up on my scans even the ones that are obviously stronger than me. The other issue is that I can no longer improve myself like a normal person does. I can only be as good as the best that I have scanned no better, no amount of training or practice will improve that, but once I scan someone better I can now rapidly grow to that level. Earlier I could only do so while they were within my scanning radius but now once I have scanned a person, I can keep improving at an accelerated rate to match their level irrespective of where they are. This I only learnt how to do 2 months ago, while I was testing my ability with a person with the physique of a bodybuilder. So that's all I have for now."

"OK that's much stronger than expected, what about releasing the energy outside your body?"

"Uhh, no improvement there, if I bleed the blood still has the energy and I don't release the energy outside my body or rather I can't control it once it reaches the surface of my skin and then it fades away. But I have checked with multiple tests and it decays only dead organic matter, or to be more specific it only affects organic matter not physically connected to it's living source"

"That is good, this way you are not a danger to anyone living."

"Yes and I can use it to get rid of the body and blood of anyone we go to assassinate."

"You do know we don't assassinate people."

"That's the official statement but we do get rid of emerging terrorist threats that might be able to cause large scale damage."

Agent Coulson sighed and replied: "You spent too long being trained as a specialist, in my team we don't kill people unless it's the last resort. The work we will be doing is to protect people from themselves as well as from other people."

"Yes sir, I understand."

"Good, now get settled, you have 3 days and then we will be deployed on assignment and ill come pick you up."

"Thank you, I think I am going to love this job especially these benefits and the adventure."

"Don't worry soon you will be crying over the paperwork you have to fill out for all the after incident reports and expense reports."
