5 Let's Begin

Solis was on edge after the sudden appearance of the Wraith they encountered earlier and was eager to get home quickly. Five minutes out, he called to Muun in the back seat to get her attention.

With his eyes still on the road, he told her, "Muun when we get back I want you to get to your house as quickly as possible and tell your sister to meet us at our house."

"All right, Solis, I'll let her know when I get back."

"Thank you Muun," and he put his foot down on the gas and sped down the freeway.

Soon, they could see their house in the distance, and they got closer and closer with each second that passed. As soon as Solis pulled onto the driveway, Muun hopped out of the car and started sprinting as fast as she could back to her house. The siblings went inside and met up in their living room space.

"We're back home, so what's our plan now Solis?" Ad looked up at his brother for a response.

"We're going to have to start traveling."

"Where to though Solis?"

"We're going to Arizona, Ad."

"Arizona?! We're going there?! Why?!"

"To look..."

"What are we looking for?" Fera asked and joined their conversation.

"I haven't told you guys this, but we're going to need help. The three of us alone, are strong, but we must become stronger."

"And what do you mean by that Solis," Fera asked with more curiosity.

"I didn't want to tell you guys this either because I had no solid evidence for it, but I think some of our relatives are alive," he said.

"R-really?!" yelled Ad, "How do you know?"

"A long time ago I caught one of their scents in the air, and I have an idea who it might be. I can't be certain though, but if it is him, he'll be a major help."

Fera looked down and quietly started piecing things together, "Arizona...known for being hot during summer...dry," when she realized who they were looking for, "Solis, you're saying we might find Tenacity?"

"Hopefully, Fera, that's the plan."

Tenacity was a cousin of theirs, from their father's side, who was one of the most battle-hardened relatives in their family. His reputation was built upon his own tenacity for battle, hence his name, and the valor he showed. His skills were very polished and efficient, and he was regarded as one of the best in their family, alongside Solis and their father. They hadn't seen him since they went into hiding, which was over a decade ago, and they hoped he was alive.

Fera asked Solis one more thing, "So, if we're leaving...will we have to stop attending school?"

"Of course we have to. We can't have the people here get involved with our problems, we'll leave without a trace."

"Alright, I understand, so when do we begin?"

Solis looked over at his sister and said, "We start with preparations tomorrow morning after I've explained our plan to Lunis."

Just then, they heard the doorbell ring. Ad went over to open it and saw Lunis standing with Muun. Lunis looked at Solis and asked him, "Solis...are we doing what I think we're doing?"

"Yes, Lunis, now let me explain everything we need to do."

Solis took the next few minutes to fill in Lunis on what had happened to them, and what they were planning to do in the future. After he was done explaining, Lunis had some questions to ask him.

"If we have to go, will I have to say goodbye to our parents?"

"You'll have to, Lunis, I'm sorry."

"I-it's alright Solis, I was expecting it to happen sooner or later. I'll go home and get prepared to leave."

"Alright, make sure Muun is ready for it too. We'll see you back here on Monday."

The Alexandria sisters turned to leave and Ad followed them out the door to say his goodbyes. When Ad regrouped with his siblings, his brother started talking again.

"Since it's only four in the afternoon right now, take this time to sort out what you guys will bring on our trip."

He waved them away so that they could get started on packing up their things. Ad and Fera wasted no time and immediately went up to their rooms to look at what they need.

From downstairs, Solis shouted, "If there's something you need or you're missing let me know! I'll go to the store later for a shopping run before we leave!"

From Fera's room, she yelled back, "We'll let you know Solis!"

Solis decided to head upstairs to his room to get ready himself. He pulled out all his drawers and laid everything he owned on his bed. After, he also pulled out a suitcase and duffel bag. He rummaged through the suit-case and duffels to see if he had left anything in them, and as he did a plastic bag fell out. He saw it on the floor and picked it up to examine it. As he turned it around, a familiar glow came off of it, and he took the object out of his bag and realized that it was an item that both his parents had made and had given to him. He held the object tightly as tears started to well up in his eyes.

He decided to put packing up aside and set down the object on his window sill. He went downstairs and went into the backyard in search of rocks. He found a few decent-sized rocks and when he was satisfied he went back to his room. He took the rocks he had found and crushed them with his fists until they were nothing but powder. Then, he used some of his Essence to manipulate the powder and wove it into a string. When he finished, the lace he held in his hands was a lace of beautiful iridescent colors. He twirled the lace around in the sunlight that was shining through his window to admire the colors it gave off.

He went back over to the object he had found and attached it to the lace he had just made and put it around his neck. Wondering what he looked like, he went over to a mirror in his room and admired the necklace he made. The way the colors of the necklace matched the colors of the object his parents made for him, made him feel happy. He silently swore to himself that he would never lose that necklace for as long as he lived.

Once he finished his little side project, he went back to packing up his essentials. In the suitcase were his clothes he wanted to bring and other things he would wear. In the duffel bag were miscellaneous items he would bring for 'protection' when things got hairy.

He closed his duffel and suitcase and decided to go downstairs to grab a drink and relax a bit. He opened up the fridge and found a can of soda and cracked it open. He took huge swigs of the soda and let the liquid run down his throat. Soon enough, he finished the can and he decided to head back over to the fridge and grab another. When he found another can, he turned around to find Fera looking at him.

He cracked open the new can in his hands and asked his sister, "So, I assume you need me to get something, right?"

"Lavender..."

"The flower or the..." he asked.

"...Spritz bottle, Solis."

"Alright, I'll remember to pick it up later when I go shopping. Is that all you need Fera?"

"Yeah, I have everything else I need."

Just then Fera saw something shining coming from Solis's neck, so she decided to ask him about it, "You have something around your neck Solis."

"Oh, this?" he pulled out the necklace he had made earlier and showed it off to her.

Fera was mesmerized by the colors, just as Solis was, and admired the craftsmanship on the necklace. Her eyes wandered to the object dangling and realized what it was. She walked over to Solis and caressed the object that was attached to the necklace. She took it and brought it up to her cheek as tears fell down her face.

"T-this belonged to m-mom and d-dad didn't it?" she said through her tears.

"Yeah...it did."

"I-is it alright if I break a piece off to make a bracelet for myself?"

"I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't mind."

Fera took the object and broke a piece off and took it with her back up to her room.

When he heard her door close, he went back to drinking and doing nothing. After the last drop went down his throat, he let out a loud burp and crushed the can. He tossed the can into the bin across the table, and for the next few minutes, he sat and just let his thoughts wander.

His train of thought was broken when Ad came down the stairs.

"Did you need something too, Ad?"

"What do you mean?"

"Do you remember what I told you earlier?"

"Yeah, I do but I have all the stuff I need. I just wanted to grab a drink since I finished up."

Ad passed by Solis and went for the fridge. He brought out the gallon of milk they had and chugged all of it down.

"Were you that thirsty Ad?" Solis asked.

"No," he wiped his mouth off before continuing, "I just wanted some."

"What's that around your neck?" Ad pointed his finger at Solis's neck.

"I expected you to notice sooner or later. Fera asked about it earlier when she came down and I showed it to her too."

He brought his necklace back out and as soon as Ad saw it he grabbed the necklace from Solis. He did the same thing as Fera did before and wept his heart out. Solis rubbed his brother's back as he was on his knees trying to help comfort him.

"I-it's s-smells like m-mom a-and d-dad," he wept even harder than Fera had.

It hurt Solis to see his brother cry, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it, so he let it just happen and waited for him to stop. They were there for a while so Solis decided to come up with a solution.

"Ad how about you make a little item for yourself using this?" and he broke off a piece of the object and handed it over to Ad.

Ad just shook his head and took the piece from his brother. He stood up, unsteadily, and went back into his room with the object close to his chest.

Solis was left alone again and he decided to head upstairs as well to take a nap since he didn't have anything else left he needed to do. He went straight to his bed, didn't bother to change, and shut his eyes to sleep.

When he woke up, he looked over at his clock above his bed, "Only eight, that's good," he said.

He stepped out of his room and looked over the railing and he saw his siblings at the dinner table eating together. He noticed that each of his siblings had a new piece of jewelry in their possession.

On Fera's left ring finger, was a ring embedded with the piece of the object she took earlier. Unlike Solis, Fera didn't make her ring iridescent colors, instead, she chose a satin red to further enhance the color of the object. On the ring itself, Fera engraved her true name on it.

Ad went with a bracelet to encompass the piece of the object. The bracelet was thin, but had the design of a serpent that coiled around its frame. The serpent started from the bottom of the bracelet and went upwards both ways. Where the two serpents met, was where Ad had placed his piece. The way he designed it, you could say it looked as if the serpents were going to eat it. One serpent he colored sky blue, while the other he made off white, and the bracelet itself was a gold color.

Fera noticed her brother's presence and spoke up, "If you want food yourself, I put the rest of what I made in the fridge."

"I'll have some later when I get back then."

Solis went to his car after he grabbed the keys to head out and went to go shopping. They had a grocery store not too far away from their house and he was able to get there and through the doors quickly. He had a few things in mind he wanted to get so he went straight to the aisles that had them. Solis browsed around a bit to look for what he needed and when he found it he just put it in the basket he carried. Five minutes later, he went over to the register when saw that, in his basket, he had forgotten Fera's spritz bottle.

He brisked walked over to the aisle where he would find it. He accidentally bumped into a lady after he was able to get Fera's item.

"Excuse me, I was in a hurry, sorry for bumping into you Miss."

They both bent down to pick up what she had dropped. When they finished up, the lady he bumped into asked, "If you don't mind sir, haven't I seen you somewhere before?"

"I wouldn't know the answer to that."

"Um, Sea King's Palace," she said frantically.

"I know the place, but I still don't know who you are. I apologize that I can't remember you but I have to get going now," he said to her.

Solis turned to leave as the lady shouted, "Oh! You're the guy with the major appetite right? I was your waitress that evening when you came in."

Solis turned back around to her and responded, "Miss Elise? Well, it is strange to see you here. It was nice to meet you again, but I have to get going."

He turned around again and went for the register, but she was persistent in getting him to stop. She ran up to him and grabbed his shoulder.

Solis started to get slightly annoyed with the way she acted but decided to stay calm. Instead, he asked her, "I've told you before that I have to get going, so is there something you need from me?"

"Sorry for being annoying it's just I've had a few questions I've wanted to ask you since I saw you at Sea King's Palace."

"Make it quick then."

"Ahem, umm, I-I was just wondering..."

"Wondering what?"

"Y-you're not human are you?"

Upon hearing her question, Solis immediately got spooked. He wasn't sure she knew exactly what he was, so he played dumb to try and fool her, "I don't know what you're asking me, Miss Elise."

"First off, stop with the 'Miss' please, we're the same age."

"We are?" asked Solis.

"Yeah, I'm only eighteen. I just work there part-time."

"I see, but I still don't know what you meant by your question."

"Oh, I asked because no normal human could eat that much. Do you have like a black hole for stomach or something?" she asked as she laughed.

Solis relaxed a bit because it seemed he had no reason at all to be cautious.

"Well, you could say I just have a big appetite," he told her.

"Really? That's unbelievable then! Do you eat like that every day?"

Solis gave her a small nod in response.

"That's ridiculous! How do you not gain any weight?!"

Solis tried to think up a good reason to tell her why it looked like he didn't gain any weight. A few seconds later, he told her, "Because I run," a lie obviously, but he had to answer her.

"Oh so you're an athlete. That makes sense then, so do you run for a team?"

"Y-yes, my high school," he shakily told her.

"Where do you go to then?"

"Phoenix High School."

"No way," she said.

"Is something wrong?" he asked.

"I can't believe we go to the same school!"

"Oh is that right?"

"How come I never see you at school then?"

"I couldn't tell you. Would you happen to know the time right now perhaps?"

Elise took out her phone and looked at it quickly before telling him, "It's only half-past eight."

"I appreciate you telling me, now I have to get going."

He took his leave and went to the register, but yet again he was stopped by Elise. He had no more time for her antics so he tried to move on ahead, but Elise pleaded with him to stay because she had one more thing to tell him.

"I just wanted to know if you don't mind me saying hi to you if I see you at school."

He was getting impatient and quickly said, "Yes, that's fine if you do."

Solis pulled himself away from her grip and finally got into line at the register. When he was finally back out, he exhaled a sigh of relief and walked briskly over to his car so that he wouldn't have to encounter any more nuisances. The drive back home was quick and he was back inside their house soon enough, and it made him happy to see his siblings after the trouble he encountered at the store.

"Took you long enough, Solis," Fera told him with an annoyed tone.

"My fault Fera, I ran into some unexpected problems at the store."

"What happened?"

"Remember our waitress the time we went to King's Palace?"

"No, I don't," she said.

Solis didn't care if she did or didn't remember so he continued speaking, "Anyway, I bumped into her at the store, and she was strangely persistent on talking with me and it caused me to stay there longer than I wanted."

"Oh, is that what happened? I assume you got what I wanted though right?"

"Of course," and he grabbed the bottle out of the bag and tossed it to her.

Fera caught the bottle and ran upstairs quickly to put it away.

Solis walked over to Ad who was in his usual spot on the couch and told him, "Ad, I want to head off to sleep first since we'll be busy tomorrow morning. When Fera comes back downstairs tell her what I told you."

Ad just nodded his head while his eyes were still glued to the television.

Solis walked up the stairs and into his room. He changed into some sleepwear and quickly went over to his bed. Before closing his eyes, he said, "It will all start tomorrow," and he closed his eyelids and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Solis was woken up by a shaking sensation. The one who stood above him was Ad.

"Time Ad?"

"It's a little before nine."

"Alright, good timing then," and Solis quickly got up to change.

While he changed, Ad stepped out and went downstairs to wait with Fera for Solis to finish up. It wasn't long before Solis stepped out and saw that his siblings had their luggage set out and ready.

He looked over at them and asked, "Did you make sure you have everything you need?"

They both nodded in response.

"Good, toss them in the car, and then we wait for Lunis and Muun to show up."

They both got up and went out to the car and put their stuff in just as Solis had told them to and they went back inside immediately and waited for Lunis and Muun. Half an hour had passed before they heard the doorbell ring. Solis went to open the door and it was just the people they were expecting.

As soon as Solis saw Lunis he asked her, "Did you take care of it, Lunis?"

Lunis stood in their doorway teary-eyed but managed to say, "Yeah, after Muun and I said goodbye."

"I'm sorry you had to go through that, but it had to be done," Solis then looked over at Muun who still had tears running down her face, and said, "Muun I can't imagine how you're feeling, but if there's anything I can do to help you, let me know."

Muun didn't have the strength to say anything so she just nodded.

"That's it Muun," and Solis gave her a pat on the head trying to comfort her.

Solis told Ad to take Muun and Lunis's luggage into the car. After he finished, Solis told him to sit in the car with Muun while the rest of them handle their business.

Fera, Lunis, and Solis stood outside the car discussing what they'd be doing.

Solis said to them, "We get rid of any evidence that we were here ok? Only use your Essence when necessary, we don't want any residue left behind."

Both of them acknowledged what he said which made Solis say, "Alright, now let's go."

The three of them vanished in the blink of an eye and left to go do their respective task. Solis found himself at their high school, his job was to erase the records of their attendance there. Since he chose to enact his plan on a weekend, the only people who would be there were the custodians and the occasional teacher who worked overtime. If he encountered any of them, he snuck passed them easily.

His first stop was the security room so that he could get rid of any footage they had of them. It took him only about twenty minutes to sort through all the tapes that had him clearly on the screen, along with Lunis and Fera. Before he left, he made sure to shut off the cameras so that he didn't leave any loose ends.

Next, he planned a stop at the main office, primarily the secretary's desk. He needed to find their records and simply just erase them, which he found and did in a short amount of time. So far, he had done everything without anything getting in his way, but it was on his way out when he would encounter some trouble.

Solis was close to exiting out the front doors of the school when he noticed a familiar person coming through. He jumped up onto a nearby ledge and backed away from the door's line of sight.

"It won't be any good if she notices I'm here," he thought to himself as he saw Quintessa walk through the doors. Her reason for being at school during a weekend mattered not for Solis, he just wanted to get out without her noticing.

The reason he was nervous was that her grandfather had an amazing sense of smell, and since he could manipulate air currents, it enhanced that ability even more. He didn't know if she inherited the same sense of smell, but he didn't want to risk it. He switched up his plan and decided to just head out another set of doors. He got up slowly from his spot and backed away. He wrapped his feet with his Essence to make sure his footsteps wouldn't make any sound.

He turned around from the ledge and jumped onto a platform that was nearby and hopped onto the second floor of the school. He ran down the hall and towards the back of the school hoping Quintessa didn't notice. He was only a few feet away from the doors when he heard a voice behind him which caused him to take cover.

"Hello?" Quintessa shouted down the hall, "Look, I don't think you should be here during non-school hours Mister or Missus, but if you don't leave I'll call the police on you."

With her statement, Solis knew that she didn't inherit her grandfather's capacity for tracking scents, but she did inherit his sensitivity for disturbances in the air. A bothersome ability regardless, but it was something Solis could work with. He knew the ability well and if his hunch was right, Quintessa hadn't honed it yet. He took some of his Essence and tossed it down the hall causing a piece of wood to fall over. The racket quickly got Quintessa's attention, and Solis slipped out of the building while she was distracted.

Finally finished with his tasks, he went straight back to the house and hoped that he would see Fera and Lunis there too. Solis arrived at the land that was once their house and there he saw the both of them.

He went up to them and asked, "Lunis did you take care of the people that you work at?"

"Yeah, I was in and out pretty quick. I'm sure nobody saw me," she said confidently.

"Good," he looked over at Fera, "how about our former teachers? I assume they won't remember who we are if they're asked right?"

"Yeah, if anyone tries to interrogate them about us, they won't know a thing."

"How about the people in our neighborhood?"

"Ad took care of it before you woke up and I personally made sure he did his job properly," she said to reassure her brother.

"Since we're all done we'll head out now."

The girls turned around and hopped into the car. Before Solis got in himself, he turned around and made the house they once lived in, disappear. In place of the house, was now a patch of land with unkempt, thick grass. Solis went into the driver's seat, started the car up, and drove away.

It was only eleven in the morning as they drove through the streets of Fire Palms, and since it was a Sunday, the streets were slightly less crowded. Lunis sat in the passenger's seat and watched the buildings fly by, and Fera did the same in the seat behind her. Muun and Ad played with each other as usual, but Muun stopped their play momentarily to ask Solis a question.

"Solis, why do we need this car when all of us here can move faster than it?"

Lunis answered her instead of Solis, "It's because we don't want the Great Ones to catch wind of where we are. It pains all of us here that we have to use this car, but we have to, to stay hidden."

"Oh I understand," Muun said and went back to playing with Ad.

The group got closer and closer to where the city's boundary ended, and when they crossed it none of them looked back. Solis didn't plan on stopping until they reached Hornsville, a city near the capital of Alabama, to possibly refuel and take a break. It was about a six-hour drive to Hornsville, so he knew they'd be on the road for a while.

Not much had happened to them yet one hour into their road trip, and they were now a great distance away from Fire Palms. All of the passengers in the back seat fell asleep which left Lunis and Solis the only ones awake. Solis turned the radio up a bit to listen to some music while he drove. He tapped his finger to the beat of the song he listened to when he heard noises come from Lunis's seat.

"Sorry, did you say something Lunis?" he turned down the radio so that he could hear her properly.

"Yeah, you didn't tell me exactly why we were going to Arizona."

"Oh yeah, that's right. Well, It's because I caught the scent of one of our relatives."

"Really? How did you find out it was located in Arizona?"

"I went to investigate it a long time ago, but I didn't have enough time to search thoroughly."

"Which one of your relatives did you think it was then, Solis?"

"It felt like Tenacity's."

"W-what? His?" Lunis's voice was full of shock.

"Yeah, I can't be sure though, and I don't even know if he's still alive or if he's still in Arizona. I would assume he hasn't moved since he wouldn't want to cause trouble."

"Y-yeah, that makes sense. Let's hope your cousin's still alive then."

"Yeah, I hope so too."

After their short conversations finished, Solis waited a bit to see if Lunis would ask him anything else before he turned the radio up again. Turned out, she didn't ask him anything else and he was free to listen to some music again.

Another hour passed and Solis was the only one left awake. He sat in the driver's seat bopping and swaying his body to the beat of the music as he drove down the long road. There wasn't anyone on the road, beside him, so he thought it would be a good idea to press down on the gas a little more. He zoomed passed a gas station and continued down the road pushing ninety miles an hour. The next time he saw a gas station though, he would be sure to stop over and let everyone get out so that they could stretch.

Half an hour later, Solis stopped at the next gas station he saw. Everyone else was still asleep, so he woke up Lunis first to help him wake everyone else up. She slowly woke up from his shaking and stared at him with a confused gaze.

"I stopped by a gas station so we could stretch a little, and for me to get a little break," he told her.

She nodded sleepily and woke up Fera who was behind her seat. When Fera was awake, Lunis told her to get the other two to wake up, so that they could stretch their legs a little bit. When everybody was out of the car, Solis took the keys and shut off the car while they walked around a bit. He found a bench and sat down and stretched out his limbs. After his stretch, he lay slouched on the bench watching the clouds move across the sky. In the distance, he noticed some dark clouds rolling in, and knew that there was going to be a storm.

Solis's cloud watching was interrupted by Fera who let him know that everyone was ready to get back on the road. He got up quickly and went over to the car. He saw Ad and Muun waiting beside the car, and when Solis unlocked it, they both hopped in quickly. Fera, Lunis, and Solis took their own seats shortly after. Solis decided to refuel the gas tank before getting back on the road.

The car was filled with noise again because Ad and Muun slept long enough, apparently, and were feeling energetic. Fera pulled her book out to read and Lunis took her phone out and started fiddling with it. A few minutes after she took it out, she tapped Solis on the shoulder.

"Hey Solis, knowing your cousin do you think he would be the type to cause trouble?"

He thought about the sudden question for a second and responded with, "No, not usually. Unless he was provoked, then he would. That was always his problem, he just never knew how to back down."

"Hehe, right, so then would you look at this?" she lifted her phone up for him to see it.

He looked at what was in front of him which caused him to shout, "What!?"

From the back seat, Ad screamed at Solis, "Watch out Solis! You're gonna crash into the sign!"

He lifted his head back up and swerved the car to the left and back onto the road. Since Solis thought it was a good idea to not completely destroy the car, he went off to the side of the road and parked it while he read through the article Lunis had shown him.

What he read talked about reported sightings of a massive unknown creature in the city. It went on saying that it would appear sporadically and that it was advised to stay away from the creature. At the end of the article, was a blurry image of the creature. It was impossible to make out any details but Solis knew, off the silhouette alone, that creature was his cousin. He checked the date of when the article was published and saw that it was fairly recent. A smile went across his face and he turned around to give the phone to Fera.

She didn't know what it was at first but her brother just told her to read it. She did and by the end of it, she had a grin on her face as well. Ad witnessed this and wondered what was making them smile. He asked Fera to see Lunis's phone and Fera quickly gave it to him. It took Ad a minute to finish reading and when he saw the picture he had a few words to say.

"That's amazing! Tenacity really is alive!"

"Now let's hope we find him when we reach Arizona, but I don't think that'll be a huge problem for us," Solis said to Ad.

Once Ad gave Lunis her phone back, Solis put the car back into drive and continued on towards Hornsville.

Five hours into their road trip, the drivers were switched out, because Solis wanted to take a nap, which put Lunis in the driver's seat. They decided that she was the one to drive the rest of the way to Hornsville because they weren't that far away anymore. While she was in the driver's seat, she took out her headphones to listen to her own music, and to drown out Solis's incessant snoring. She couldn't hear his snores anymore, but the rest of them in the car did. Ad started getting annoyed so he pinched his brother's nose to give him a lesson. Solis woke up immediately after and smacked Ad's hand away before going back to sleep.

Finally, after the hour or so of time they had been on the road, they reached the outskirts of Hornsville. When they got there, Lunis made sure to wake Solis up. When he finished waking himself up, he took in his surroundings and realized they had arrived. Solis asked Lunis to pull up to the next food place they saw. It didn't take them long to find one and Lunis pulled the car into a parking spot.

They all took a second to stretch before entering. As they went in, Solis told them all to decide quickly because even though they went back an hour, which made it about six-thirty in the afternoon, they still needed time to find a place to sleep for the night.

They all found a table to sit at and waited patiently for their waiter. Ad and Muun took the time to admire their new environment and noticed the lack of tall buildings they could see. Muun liked the absence of tall buildings because it meant she could see the sky better. There were a lot more trees here than in Fire Palms and Ad liked that about the city.

The waiter showed up soon enough to take their orders. They all told him what they wanted, and Solis made sure to ask for bigger portions.

The scent of food caught their nose's attention which caused the five of them to look at the source of the smell. It turned out to be their food and their mouths all started drooling as soon as they saw it. They let the food be set out in front of them and they did their routine before eating.

When they finished, they dug in straight away. Solis took huge pieces off of his ten-pounds worth of steak that he asked for with extra seasoning. Lunis tore apart the two whole chicken breasts she got for herself, which she asked for extra spicy. Fera also asked for something spicy as well and something a bit more modest, which was two plates full of chicken wings. Ad got himself eight-pounds worth of lamb chops and tore through it as well. Muun wasn't any better as she shredded through the eight-pounds worth of pork chops in front of her.

Surprisingly, for the amount they ate, and how fast they tore through it, it was rather neat. By the end of their ravenous spree, their plates were left unnaturally clean and ready to be taken back. They were out of the establishment as soon as Solis received his card back. It was only a little before eight at that point so Solis asked everyone to get into the car quickly so that could find a place to sleep.

They drove into the city in search of rooming. They had passed by many motels and hotels but they didn't like the locations of those so they continued searching. Twenty minutes later, they had found a place that everyone liked.

It was a hotel that was ten stories high and was next to an office building. The front of the building faced where the sun came up and overlooked the river that ran through the city.

Solis was the first to step out, after they had found a parking spot, and went inside the building. They all admired the decor of the hotel for a little before approaching the woman behind the desk.

"Good evening, do you have a reservation with us?" she asked.

"No, but I'd like to make one," said Solis.

"Great. How many rooms would you like then?"

"Preferably two, one with two beds and the other with three."

The receptionist took a second to look at her computer to see if they could accommodate Solis's request.

She looked back up to tell him, "It appears we do. How long will you be staying?"

"Just for tonight."

"Alright," she stood up and unlocked a drawer that held numerous room keys and took out two to give to Solis, "Here are your rooms keys for tonight. We serve breakfast in the morning at eight and goes on until ten."

"Thank you for letting us know," he said and they walked off.

He gave Lunis one set of keys and kept the other one.

He took a second to look at where their room would be and then back up at Lunis, "Our room is on the sixth floor how about you?"

"Ours is just the floor above," she said.

"So we're split up huh? That's fine," said Solis.

They approached the elevator and took it up to their respective floors. When the doors opened on floor six, Solis looked back at Lunis, "Since we're in separate rooms, you guys should be cautious."

"We'll try," said Lunis.

"We're only here for a night, but a lot can happen in that time, so stay alert."

Lunis and Muun gave him a nod as the elevator doors closed and they ascended to the next floor.

The Arcanas walked down the hall and took a right. They walked a few more doors down when they saw their room number.

"Number six four two," Solis said as he inserted the key into the door and opened it.

As he requested, he saw three beds and that alone made him happy. The space of the room wasn't too big, but it was just enough. They all found a place to set down their luggage and each of them took turns going into the bathroom to change. When they finished up their evening routine, Solis turned the lights out and all three of them went to bed.
