15 15.Mothers fears

From back a girl in a pretty pink dress arrived behind her and sighed. She looked at the nearest soldier. ''When did she start?''

He looked at her than at Emma Thompson and saw the similarity so he smiled at her. ''Miss Thompson just sat down not even minute ago.''

''Thank you.'' She then went to her mother and lightly poked her back. ''Mother, do you plan to starve me to death?''

Actually it was practically impossible to die of starvation in this place. All levels with humans had public cafeterias where the food was ready to eat for free.

If she was really hungry she could just go and get herself food.

They made multiple cafeterias in the city like the fifth level. Most people would ask why? The food waste, in this case, would be immeasurable.

Nothing is going wasted if you eat it there.

Those that couldn't walk or had health issues would have the food delivered.

Those healthy ones would eat in the cafeteria or at work. So for now, only the cafeteria worked as the public still had a holiday until she starts the project officially.

There are parks, computer rooms, playgrounds, sports centers, virtual reality rooms, library, music room, bars, clubhouse, even small golf park, and many other instances where you wouldn't be very bored. Not only that everything was free. For now...

So when Emma Thompson suddenly snapped out her world she saw a pair of sad eyes and her heart thinged in worry. ''What happened? Did you hurt yourself? Don't tell me your heart hurt? Tell me what happened? ''

In that tiny moment, she had a cascade of different kinds of possibilities that could have happened to Aisa. She held her and looked her up and down searching for anything that would show any kind of harm on her. After a few moments hse exhaled and hugged her.

''Scaring me to death. Don't do that again, please.'' Her body shook while tears welled in her eyes and started sliding down her cheeks.

Aisa just hugged her mother and patted her back. ''Mom I just said I am hungry...''

Emma Thompson took her cheeks between her hands and smiled. ''I fear so many things. This world is so scary and I am just afraid. Without you, all this won't matter to me anymore. I will die the moment you do.''

Everyone heard her words in shock. What happened to this woman to go this large just to make save heaven for her own child? What did the world due to her to act so scared? Thye saw her tiny frame holding her daughter and crying in fear even just moments ago she seemed so strong.

Mario gave them all a stare and everyone went on with their own duties but with a deeply ingrained feeling that they want to protect her even more.

Few female soldiers sat there and stared at Emma and then talked between each other. One of them stood up and with resolute steps went towards her and her daughter but was stopped by Mario that stepped in her way.

He stared at her with cold eyes, but she didn't back off. ''Sir. I have to say something privately to Mrs. Thompson and it is important.''

''Then tell me.'' He said not letting even small fly getting to the two.

She sighed and stared at him up and down. ''I am woman, so is she I can't tell you these things. Sir, with all the respect, please step aside.''

''No.'' His voice became dangerously deep as he was about to beat her up, no matter if she is female or not.

Suddenly the small hand started pushing him aside. ''Mister, before you decide something, please do not forget one important thing, you are just commander her but she is the head. Why not consult her before deciding? Do you think my mother is weak only because she cries sometimes? Men are really bothersome. My mom will cry only for one person and that is me. Do not take her as weak woman understood!!!''

Her angry eyes sprayed ice all over his body and he has successfully pushed aside. The female soldier passed her and went closer to Emma as she whispered something in her ear.

Emma turned her head and saw other female soldiers and then coldly announced. ''Get all soldiers in front of me, now!!!''
