6 Chapter 6: The Vanguard

It was early in the morning when Gabriel woke up. He wanted to turn on his back, but he realized that someone behind him. With his brown-green eyes he could see Catherine, who was drunk yesterday. "What's she doing?" He wondered. With caution he wanted to get up, but she clawed him by the shirt. Considering, he still asked if he should still set up. First, he took out his left hand with which he lay on top of him. At that moment, when he grabbed her hand, she woke up. Quickly Gabriel could save himself, as if he was still sleeping. She too wondered when she saw Gabriel, why he was in her room with her. At first she looked around the room, realizing that she was not in her room. She sensed that someone was holding her by the wrist. Slowly she took his hand and put it on him. Only with her shirt she got up before she took her pants off the floor. Another step, which made her squeal the floor. She quickly turned her head to Gabriel to see if he had woken up. When she saw that he was still asleep, she sneaked out of the room. Gabriel could now lie on his back after the commander left, taking a deep breath. After a short while his stomach growled. He decided to get up and have breakfast. He got up, ran down the stairs. In the kitchen he was looking for something to eat in the fridge. There he found fried eggs at the top, which he had cooked. He searched for plates and forks through the upper shelves. Only in the last drawer he found the plates and the forks. Then he set her up. During the time when the fried egg is being cooked, he should ask himself again what happened in the morning, but he did not care, because when he was little, his mother often lay beside him, accustomed to being next to a female person sleep. The beautiful smell of the fried eggs swarmed through the air throughout the house. Catherine, who was trying to sleep in her room, was so ashamed that there was a bed with a man, but then came the excellent scent that she could not resist. In a moment she got up, ran down the stairs to the kitchen. On the plates were already the eggs that Gabriel had cooked when Catherine entered. "Good morning," she wished him as he lay the pan in the basin. He also returned her greeting, asking why she slept. Red she was in the face but still answered that she had slept well. Both sat together at the square table, which stood in the middle of the kitchen. Sitting in black chairs, they dismembered their eggs with knives and forks. Amusingly, they ate their breakfast, because both had admired. After they finished eating, she praised him for the beautiful food that Gabriel made. With the help of the two you could quickly finish the dishes. Suddenly an alarm screamed. "Get out!" She screamed. In socks they ran in the street. Several airplanes with a swastika flew in the sky, dropping their bombs. One of them struck nearby by Catherine and Gabriel. The bombs were thrown, half of the houses were completely destroyed. Many people also lost a part of their body or a life during this attack. "Hhhhhhheeeeellllllpppppp," a male voice shouted near the yellow house. Catherine ran to the voice. Among the ruined house rubble lay an elderly man in his mid-forties. His legs were pinched. Catherine alone tried to pick up the heavy debris, but she could not. Soon, Gabriel came after her. Together with her, he tried to lift the rubble. This time they had done it, but the man could not move due to the heavy load that lay on his legs. "No! No! Not my legs, "he began howling. Many tears spilled out, mourning the loss of the legs the man lost that day. Gabriel and Catherine were able to pull out with one hand with all their might as they worked together. Later, an ambulance arrived and took the man to the hospital. After this attack, the commander of the Anson had to go immediately to Anson. On the way with the blue knight, she ran to the harbor. There already expected her team. Everyone stood in several rows in front of the Anson. Seriously, they looked forward as one of the sailors stepped forward. She gave the sailor a letter with a British flag taped to it. In the letter she received, Anson's explicit order was to attack Bremerhaven, but without any support. At first astonished, Catherine wondered if this letter was actually from Admiral Mcronald. He was a bald, white-skinned man who was very severe and coarse out of the objective, perhaps even at times arbitrary. He had alsoblue eyes. "Everyone on board!" She ordered her helpers. Everyone knew that one day they would die in the war, but now their faces were dead, for they had already said goodbye to their family, friends, relatives and even their children. The Dawn Command was confirmed by the attack because they knew they had no chance because they had to attack the Nazi port. After the preparations, which took them about fifteen minutes, they headed east. When they could no longer see the ship, came on the radar five ships of the Nazis. The fleet that came to the Anson consisted of three destroyers and two cruisers. At the front the Z23. Hubs which the Z22 as well as the Z24. Behind those the cruiser Prinz Eugen with Nuremberg. Both crosses were heavily armored. The guns were also well-equipped, causing great damage to the enemy. In contrast to the British, the German ships can not shoot far. From several meters away, the Anson stood horizontally by the German ship. All destroyers split up. "54.297733 / 3.395043 firing!", Said the commander, whereupon all the shots were fired. A fire ignited on the Z23, with which she drove later slower and then sank. Meanwhile, the Anson had suffered moderate damage after being hit by the torpedoes. The situation worsened when Prinz Eugen and Nuremberg arrived. There were fifty-two secondary guns at Prince Eugen in front and in the back. In addition, he had eight guns but also three aircraft defense. The Nuremberg had three triple towers, eight double guns (small guns used by human hands), eight single guns but also twelve torpedo tubes. Surrounded, the Anson tried to escape, but that they turn around, it took more time, so they would sink. On the sides stood the two destroyers, who fired torpedoes again and again, but mostly disliked. In the front stood both cruisers, who could only fire with one tower, which was in front. Both cruisers shot at the Anson, which is why they hit two towers. A little later, a he grenade struck one of the towers, whereupon she fell into a fire. Without two guns of the Anson she will sink, although they were less than two hours at sea, they now expected the sinking of the ship. All of a sudden, several shots hit Prinz Eugen. Another heavy ship of the Royal Navy arrived. Due to the multiple shots, both German cruisers were sunk. During this time, the ship under the control of Catherine tried to destroy the remaining destroyers. Various coordinates were said, and then again the torpedoes and the guns had been used. Often the ship did not hit both destroyers, but then again the Iron Duke hit the ships. After the enemy sank, the Iron Duke approached the Anson, for which the captain of the battleship stepped out, It was Clint who came to recovery. Gabriel and Catherine were delighted to see Clint. At the beginning of the dialogue there were questions about the commands, what they should do. But later, the conversation developed into a little but visible love affinities. After this little conversation, the repairs were repaired. Next they drove east when they saw more ships there. There were four German battleships with an aircraft carrier named Graf Zeppelin. It weighed fifteen tons, and contained over seven thousand men. Ready to use were totally forty-three aircraft. Twenty torpedo bombers, thirteen bomber bombers. Last but not least ten fighter planes. Nearby the fight took place. The fire came out of all the pipes. While the Iron Duke again protected Anson, Catherine fired all the torpedoes in the direction of the Germans. As heavy as they were armored, they could fend off the torpedoes. The structure of the battleships was specialized in the defense of torpedoes. Since Catherine has never met a battleship, it would be a waste of torpedoes to use. Over the radio Clint spoke suddenly, who advised Catherine to attack the bow of the battleships with MK 24 Tigerfish torpedoes. "Meeting point of the torpedoes should be 54.084122 / 5.632408. Torpedoes are firing. "From the command center you could see the black, iron-plated torpedoes swimming. With their fast speed they hit the German ship, which has sunk with time. In order for this to be a conclusion, she again gave her the order to fire. Catherine forgot that there was even an aircraft carrier left. Count Zeppelin dispatched to destroy the British battleship. The other thirteen torpedo bombers were already in the air to destroy the cruiser. ShortIn front of the ship, the aircraft dropped the German G7 torpedoes into the water. The torpedoes swam in the water from different directions. "Sir! Torpedoes in sight, "shouted a sailor. "Hard port!" Ordered the commander. With a quick turn to the left, the ship changed course to the battleship. Sharp could escape the ship. If she had been hit, she would be sinking. Meanwhile, the Iron Duke had a big problem because the German battleships formed a circle around his ship and have repeatedly shot at him. An alarm screamed in the command center. "Damn!" The commander cursed, because there was a hole in the hull. Several guns failed. The only useful thing to use was the secondary guns. Small built were known on the battleships, so that if the ship was without great guns, could defend itself. Shortly before the battleships Catherine gave the order again to fire the torpedoes. The first two battleships hit the front of the bow, which caused them to sink, but the two battleships behind could fire directly. "At last!" Clint pleased, then gave the immediate order to hit the rear two ships. With the last torpedoes, which had the Anson available, they used for the last German ships. However, this time she did not hit the bow of the ships, but the hull. With speed then the battleship shot off the remaining two ships, with which they finally sank. Again came the annoying airplanes with which Graf Zeppelin had bombed. The heavily damaged ship was set on fire this time by a dive bomber. This was the end of the Anson, which sank at the same time. Their bravery will go down in the history of the British. Faster than the Prince of Duke she sank. "All man out!" Catherine shouted loudly through the speaker. The front part of the ship was already in the water, with the rear part of the ship sticking out of the water. From all parts of the ship, the sailors came out. Catherine, who contacted via wireless client, told him that he should first take care of the aircraft carrier. Only then should he get the entire crew of the sunken ship. After bombarding all the planes on the runway, the Iron Duke fired everything it had. The lightly armored shell, like a light cruiser, was drilled several times, through several shots, like Swiss cheese. By the last shots the ship sank with all airplanes. In reverse, she returned to the sailors in the water, who were swimming around in the water. Catherine also jumped in the cold water after talking to Clint over the radio. By the crew of the Duke all sailors were accommodated on the ship. Many of them were also injured where they were distributed in rooms. At the command center later arrived, who changed her white clothes through a T-shirt and shorts. Also Gabriel was present, who changed his clothes by an officer uniform. Funny he looked at the uniform, because this had different lines sewn on the clothes. Nevertheless, they had to continue to the Bremerhaven. Without further enemy ships they could swim through, but from far away the artillery fired at the ship. The first shot hit a man through the glass so that everyone had to go to their knees, although they came closer. From the other direction, the enemy shot with artillery on the ship. "What's so important what the Germans wanted to protect?" Gabriel wondered, as well as Catherine. "Where does the fire come from?" The commander inquired. One of the sailors said only: "The first shot came straight from the beach and the second from the left." Also emphasized the sailor, that there are probably more of these artillery on the island. The further command of Catherine is to serve the sailor only through the hands of the guns, which he did. The foremost gun fired from the direction the sailor thought the shot was coming from. Then the gun turned to the left, where he thought there was artillery. From a distance he met both artillery. Without fear of being hit, they all got up again, moving closer to the Bremerhaven base. But it was not finished with the artillery. Near Wremen and Bloodjadingen, another two bitter enemies shot at the Duke. This time the number of deaths was greater. There were about five dead. Also on board was the sailor who previously used the gun to wipe out the enemy. Now he lay dead with a bullet in his head on the ground. Without stopping, the enemy continued to shoot at the British. Clint, wanting to go forward, shivered at the sight of a dead man. Gabriel then addressed, got no answer. Catherine, who was in the middle, soothed Clint. With a hurry Gabriel ran forward. With a button he controlled both front guns. He shot twice on each side, listening to his stomach. In fact, it was a good decision to listen to his gut because both artillery did not shoot anymore because they were destroyed. They entered the harbor of Bremerhaven. In front of the jetty were two huge warehouses. Everyone aboard wondered what could be on board. It can not be impossible that there is nothing in two long warehouses. In addition, it has commissioned an admiral to destroy it as soon as possible. With all the guns she aimed at the warehouse. In a few seconds she hit the warehouse, which exploded immediately. Great flames arose, for which she also spread to the pier. The whole jetty was destroyed. Shortly thereafter, several British ships came with soldiers to fight for freedom. In Bremerhaven now the command was changed. A man called Barrows was now in command, with which the Iron Duke should go back to England. After the bodies of the British were taken out of the ship, the Duke returned to England.
