The True Power Of Light Points

Jack didn't know when he had drifted off to sleep, but the next thing he knew he woke up due to a light poke against his cheek.

Blinking sleep out of his eyes, he came face to face with Blake Belladonna who was standing in front of him wearing a bright smile. "Good Morning Captain, have a nice 30 minute nap?" She held up the numerous papers that the guard had left with them. "Everyone has written their name on the paper, your the only one whose left."

Jack reached and took the paper away from Bella, scanning his eyes over it, reading over the rather small names that had been printed onto it. It seemed that it was indeed true that almost every single one of the hundreds of people had signed the form. They had even started running out of room and had only managed to leave a small space on the back left corner of the final page.

"So they all finally came around?" Jack asked as he took the pen away from Bella and scribbled his name down as best he could. "I guess I should be thankful for that." He clicked the pen and put it into the pocket of his jeans.

"Well, truth is that they were all hesitant until that guard came back and asked if we had finished yet." Bella admitted with a bit of reluctance, clearly not a fan of the man. "He explained the law personally to them and convinced them all to sign, even going as far as to hold some of them to sword point."

"He came back, but it hasn't even been a half hour yet!!" Jack struggled to stand but a searing pain shot through his leg, forcing him to sit back down. "Why exactly did he threaten the other guys?"

"Well, thats the part I wasn't going to tell you that because you might end up actually liking the guy," Bella said, concern in her voice as she watched Jack struggle. "Some of the other members had started to make fun of you and started to wonder if your were even qualified to lead us."

Jack frowned, clearly disturbed by the events that had taken place in the short time he had been asleep. He hadn't thought the guard would come back so soon, and he never would've guessed that the guy would actually stick up for him.

"He also said something else," Bella said, lowering her voice. "He said, and I'm quoting him here, To tell your leader to step up his game! He has potential, that much anyone can tell but he has to get smarter. He needs strength, because going through everything with just courage won't be enough to lead others."

Jack blinked in surprise, actually a bit startled that the man would go as far as that. He had seemed like such a scumbag the first time, it was basically like pulling a full 180. He threatened the other people because they questioned Jack and he even gave Jack advice. It was clear something had happened to make the guard change his mind.

"Well as interesting as this talk is I actually need to see the list that you guys have piled together." A voice came from their right, someone whose voice rang out through the nearby crowd.

Jack and those around him tensed up and multiple heads turned to face the owner of the noise. No one around there had heard him approach and with the circle of people surrounding the bench where Jack was sitting, it was near impossible for anyone to get close without at least one person noticing

The man in question looked like just another guard, with metallic grey armor with a little pocket attached to it. However there was one significant difference and that was the aura of power that the man had around him, one that made Jack feel a bit nauseous.

"Who are you?" Jack asked, neither polite nor rude, a clear tone of indifference as he struggled to keep his emotions contained. He was beyond surprised and even felt a tinge of fear from this man who was obviously far stronger then any of the guards they ha dmet previously.

"My name is Gladisor Adriach, its a pleasure to meet you and I'll ve the one assigning you all to your houses." The man said with a kind smile.

He reached out and gently took the sheets of paper from Jack and nodded his head. "I shall be back in 5 minutes so dont go anywhere. I shall remind you that if you leave this park then you shall all be deemed criminals and be exiled from the City of Syphilia." With those words, his figure disappeared followed by a boom.

The only trace that was left of the man after he disappeared was 10 foot crater embedded into the grass. It was this and the aura that the man had that gave Jack a hint of the powers that the activation of light points held. It was a real wake up call for Jack as he took in the sight of the crater and how deep it was.

The crowd was even more stunned then Jack was, many people beginning to make their way closer to the wide hole in the floor. The ones who had been close to Jack had actually seen the man and watched when he disappeared, but the rest of the crowd hadn't the slightest idea of what had happened.
