2 Prologue (2/2)- The Beginning

Nobody immediately rushed to the gate like Jack expected, but rather they seemed to just begin to interact with one another while also begin a casual stroll towards the large wall. No one seemed to be in any hurry, showing just how much they trusted the Game Master's words.

It wasn't like it was any surprise though. All of them were either too confused, scared, or just plain stupid to listen to someone they only just met, even if it was someone akin to a god. However there were many exceptions as Jack found out moments later when multiple people began approaching him.

He was a bit surprised by the amount of people walking up to him as everyone else now seemed to be avoiding him like the plague. It seemed that the Game Masters obvious interest in him had driven everyone away, which was fine with him if he was being honest. He actually wanted to be alone and process everything that the "god" had said.

However, about roughly seven people approached him, the one in the lead sporting bright orange hair with a black robe. He seemed to have an angry scowl on his face but Jack couldn't feel any hostility so he figured it was just the way he looked.

Jack paused in the middle of walking to gaze at the seven who had now arrived at his side. He was mostly curious rather then annoyed, intrigued that these people would approach him so causally after what had just transpired.

"Your names Jack right?" The orange haired boy asked, his scowl deepening, a bit of hostility creeping into his voice. Then out of nowhere, he threw a punch aimed straight at Jack's face.

Jack, not expecting it, reacted on pure instinct and reflexes, ducking underneath the fist, grabbing the wrist along with the boys black robe and used his momentum to flip him over, slamming him onto his back. The whole exchange lasted mere seconds, which ended with Jack taking a step back, taking a stance against the other six people who had come up behind the boy.

"Whoa," Said a female with bright blue hair, raising her arms up in a show of surrender. "I just came to talk, I simply figured following him would give me the opportunity to do it. My name is Kaname Chidori, but you can call me Chidori." She held out her hand, flashing a snall smile.

However instead of taking her hand, Jack gave her a simple full body glance before smiling. "Your scared of me, as your hand is shaking slightly and you refuse to look me in the eyes." He pointed down at her legs which had taken on a stance of self defense. "You dont trust me and your prepared to fight back, planning on kicking me with your right foot in hopes of fending me off....your not here to be friends with me, more like you want information or some sense of security in numbers."

Everyone in the group aside from Chidori took a step back, away from Jack as he reached out his hand and shook the hand of the young girl with light blue hair. "Luckily for you, I'm not seeking friendship, only people who know when to shut up....if you can do that, we can travel together. You and the rest...even carrot top over there.....can travel together with me if you want, just make sure to keep quiet."

Jack turned around and began to walk away, and noticed that not a single person followed him, and he was okay with that. He simply kept on walking towards the wall, following the large crowd that was slowly making its way forward.

The pace everyone was walking out would've probably stayed the same if it wasnt for the sound that pierced through the night. The sound of howls echoing off the huge walls, making it louder then it really was.

The sounds of walking and the sounds of talking immediately stopped in mere seconds after the sound. It was as if no one dared to believe that the sound was real, but they were quickly brought into the reality when this time multiple howls rang out, shattering the silence.

"What are you guys waiting for? An invitation?" Jack yelled at them, looking at them with incredulity. "MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!"

It was this that broke them out of their trance, and caused a mass panic as everyone pushed and shoved their way towards the wall, the run turning into a free for all as everyone wanted to be the first one inside. There were a couple of people who actually stopped and turned around, apparently refusing to run away.

"You morons can run but I have my pride," said the one from before, the one the GM had called Vegeta. "I refuse to show my back to the enemy."

"Your an idiot," Jack said as he ran past preparing to leave him behind, but after running a few steps he glanced behind him. He immediately wished that he hadn't, for what he saw made him lose hope of survival.

There were dozens of wolf-like creatures heading towards them, each one looked rather small (No bigger then your average wolf) but it was the immense size of the pack that gave off the "no hope of survival" vibe. They were pitch black all over except for a a circle of grey fur surrounding their savage looking red eyes.

Jack flicked his eyes from the wolf pack, to the twenty or so stragglers who were running to catch up. He cursed under his breath and turned to Vegeta.

"How about this, instead of thinking of it as retreat, think of it as a means of showing everyone how much better you are then them. Get out there and help as many people as you can!!" Jack took off running back, heading to the now 15 or so lagging figures who were desperately trying to catch up.

"If you dont want to become food then move your asses." Jack said as he ushered the group along, watching the wolves get closer and closer with each passing second.

It was then that three of these people tripped, and all at the same time, which would've been pretty funny if it hadnt been for the fact they were in dire straits. Jack, having been behind two of them, dug down deep inside of himself and called upon the power of adrenaline, the best drug in the world.

He only had two arms, so without even hesitating, he lifted up two of the fallen and took off as fast as he could. The sound of wolves had reached it loudest and the wall was only a minute away. The scream of the other one who had fallen echoed through the night, the sound of agony and growls filling Jack's ears, giving him incentive to run even faster.

More and more people began to fall down, but Jack didn't gave time to stop and help them as he knew that the moment he stopped moving, it would spell the end for not only him but the two people underneath his arms.

He was about twenty feet away from the open gate when he began to stumble, he could feel his legs threatening to give out but he refused to give up on the lives of the tow he was carrying. Using the last bit of his remaining strength, he tossed the two figures through the doorway before falling onto the ground.

He tried to get back up using the power of adrenaline, but he was too late as two wolves clamped down onto his leg, digging their razor sharp teeth in. The pain was almost enough to make him pass out, but he grit his teeth, picking up a rock and smashing against one of the wolf's nose. The demonic wolf whimpered and let go, but the other one simply bit down harder, refusing to let go of its prize.

It looked like the end of the road for him when a rather large rock slammed into the wolfs eyes, stunning it and forcing it to let go.

Jack didnt have time to be surprised as he was pulled back by the armpits by two sets of hands, tugging him into the gate before it slammed shut, cutting off anymore survivors and stopping the demonic horde from entering inside.

Jack heaved a sigh of relief along with a grimace of pain before turning around to thank the two who had dragged him inside. To his surprise however, he came face to face with not only Vegeta but also the orange haired kid who had tried to punch him before
