Gladisor's Bullshit Reasoning!!

"I'm sincerely sorry for my earlier transgressions," Gladisor said once again.

The three of them had moved from the front door to the dining room table. Gladisor had apologized about what happened earlier about 3 times prior to sitting down and, while he still felt enmity for the armored man, Jack eventually decided to forgive him depending on his answers to the questions he was going to ask. He had no intention of forgiving him if Gladisor couldn't give him a good reason for the things he had done. Even saying that he was following orders wasn't going to cut it.

"Your brother fold me about your orders," Jack said with a emotionless voice. "While I sympathize with your predicament and I can accept the fact that you had to abuse me, I can't accept that you abused two of the people belonging in my group. I would like to hear it from you personally why you did it."

"What would you like to know specifically?" Gladisor could feel a sense of pressure coming off the young man and a feeling of danger. This feeling lead him to respect the youth as even though he was at most a level 1, he was able to incite a feeling of caution even though there was no way he could harm him.

"I want to know why you attacked the girls," Jack responded, his red eyes gazing into Gladisors bright blue ones.

"Loyalty," Gladisor said simply. "Thats all it was for, a test to who was loyal to the leader."

"Loyalty?" Jack asked with surprise as he hadn't really expected that answer.

"The reason I kicked you initially was because the fact that you were the leader of the refugees," Gladisor explained, folding his arms on top of the table. "However, the other reason is to separate you from the others and make you seem lower then them. Human beings tend to follow the strong and they follow along with those stronger then themselves. We wanted you to find people who weren't loyal enough to stick by your side, to fish out those that would ditch you the moment you failed to be a leader."

"When it comes right down to it, you need to have the qualities of a leader and the respect of the people." Gladisor smiled slightly. "Thats where your two girls come in. They defended you even when everyone else remained silent even after seeing how strong I was. They possessed some degree of loyalty already, but I had to make sure that that loyalty didn't waver."

"Thats where you hitting them came into play." Jack was merely speculating but he felt that this was all a well thought out plot by someone with very high intellect.

"Exaclty," Gladisor responded, nodding his head. "I needed them to think of me as the bad guy, thereby cementing their belief that you were their kind and amazing leader who was ten times better then the douche who hit them and slandered them. By making myself as the bad guy, their loyalty and faith in you increased dramatically."

"Okay, but why did you send every single one of the refugees into really good homes while sending us three into the slums." Jack really wanted to hear what excuse Gladisor came up for this one.

"Its a matter of human nature," Gladisor said matteroffactly. "When you see someone you followed as a leader, you normally have one of two reactions. One is to follow a stronger leader and hope he does better, and the other is to help and support the one whose fallen. More people are just sheep to be guided and flock towards the intelligent or strong willed."

"Okay, that literally told me nothing about why you sent them to better houses," Jack said with a bit of irritation in his voice.

"Is it because you wanted to test their loyalty?" King asked, finally speaking up. He had been quiet the whole time without a single word escaping his lips. "To see if they would continue to follow someone who had worse conditions them their own?"

"Heyyyy look whose grown up smart," Gladisor said with a proud smile. "That is exactly right. However, studies have shown that most people will actually abandon those who have poorer conditions then them as they see it as just a hassle. Without superior strength or intellect your just another person unworthy to lead."

"Ugh, if you guys thought this far ahead, maybe you should've thought of the fact that I DON'T WANT TO LEAD!!!" Jack slammed his fist onto the table. "I never wanted to lead hundreds of people nor have I wanted to get stuck in this position.

"Then why DID you lead them?" Gladisor asked, a serious look on his face. "Surely there was someone else who was qualified to do it."

"Certain situations arose and I was forced to take the lead otherwise many others wouldve gotten killed." Jack placed his head in his hands. He had countless thoughts and emotions running through him right now and it was overwhelming him to the point of insanity.

Gladisor stood up and shook his head. "Well, how about you go and visit someone who thinks of you in an entirely different light. That ought to raise your spirits. King, head on over to your friend Haminu's house. I have somewhere else to visit and then I'll meet you there."

King gave a firm nod as he watched his brother quickly depart, opening and closing the front door as he left the house.

"We should get going, though we were actually heading over there anyways." King said as he nudged Jack, urging him to stand.

"Ugh, it was so much easier to hate. Better than all that complicated stuff he was mumbling earlier." Jack stood up and readjusted the hoodie. "I still haven't forgiven him for what he did. Those things he said felt like complete lies to me."

King laughed as he made his way to the door. "Don't let it bother you. If you want to hate him then so be it. You do things how you want to and live your own life. Whether you want to lead or not is all up to you. Now.....lets get going to my friends house. We'll see whats waiting for us there."

The two of them walked out of the house, closing the door behind them.

Evangeline A.K McDowell's POV:

"Okay, so what about S class demons? How strong would you say they are?" Evangeline took a sip of her tea as she asked Haminu yet another question.

Haminu and Eva had been sitting on the couch for about an hour. Haminu had even take the liberty of making the two of them some tea as they chatted about various things like people, hobbies, history, and eventually demons.

"An S rank demon....thats difficult to say as their rarely spotted and hard to get information about." Haminu raised her own cup to her lips, taking a sip of her steaming hot tea. "However, from the information thats been gathered so far, their savage and intelligent beings, capable of shapeshifting and far more powerful then even a level 500. Its said that they can easily wipe out an entire nation in a single night."

"They're THAT powerful?" Eva asked in surprise. "Has anyone ever managed to kill one before?"

Haminu set down her cup, her brows furrowed as she thought about the question. "I don't think so as killing an S rank isn't something that could be kept quiet. Hell just surviving an S rank would probably be big news."

"Then has anyone ever survived?" Eva asked curiously.

"Not that I know of..." Haminu relaxed against her seat. "But why the sudden curiosity in S ranks? How do you even remember them since you told me that you lost your memory."

Eva was unsure of how to answer her questions, but luckily she was interrupted by the sound of someone opening the door. Both of them stood up with surprising speed as they looked towards the hallway connecting to the door.

"Haminu, are you there?" A voice rang out as the sound got closer. "If you are then don't hit me, I'm only here for a visit, not a sparring match."

Haminu sighed and dropped back into her seat. "Its just King, we're all good Eva." She had a hint of a smile on her face as she watched her friend come around and enter into the living room.

Eva didn't really pay that much attention to the first guy who entered the room, but not because she disliked him or anything like that. She was just preoccupied by the second figure who entered into the room.

Jet-black hair, kind red eyes, a confident expression on a handsome face. She stared at the young man clothed in a black hood with a feeling of surprise and happiness. She was staring at the very person who had saved her life, Jack Freston.
