""Haruto, please help us study for the upcoming exams!""

Kageyama and Hinata yelled out loud while bowing their heads towards Haruto who was sitting down with a stunned expression on his face.

"Hey don't be yelling like that in class.. I'm sorry for the scene."

Haruto quickly grabbed them by the shirt to make them stop bowing and said sorry to his surroundings as they were looking at what caused the loud shouts they heard while they were still in the classroom.

'Is it because of yesterday.'

Haruto let out a sigh as he remembered what happened after practice yesterday when Takeda told them some good news.

[Flashback to yesterday afterschool]

"We will be going to Tokyo?!" Hinata yelled out in excitement as he repeated back to what Takeda had said to them.

"Yes, it will be a joint session with Nekoma and some of the other schools in Tokyo. Fukurodani Academy is the main host group alongside several other schools which conduct these type of practice matches on a regular basis."

Ukai butted in as he was somewhat familiar with the different groups that make up each part of the country. He glanced at Haruto and said one other piece of information.

"In Fukurodani, they also have a top 5 ace that leads their team and has brought them to nationals countless times."

When Haruto heard what Ukai said his curiosity was piqued as he wanted to see how Fukurodani's ace plays compared to Ushijima he faced against before.

Everyone started to yell out loud and got excited to get the opportunity to go to Tokyo for the matches, they didn't realize that Takeda sat down formally to say some words. His smiling face turned serious, catching them off guard.

"But before that I would like to remind you guys that you have final exams coming up right?"

This simple sentence made some of them freeze up and turn their heads looking away from Takeda who was staring at them.

"If you guys don't pass your exams.. You will need to take your makeup classes and may need to skip the trip to Tokyo." Takeda said the final words that struck the last nail in the coffin making them turn pale.

[End of flashback]

Remembering the faces that both of them had yesterday, Haruto gave a laugh making the two of them flinch slightly.

"Sure I can help you guys study. Do you want to go after school to the library to start?" Haruto asked and saw the two nod quickly.

They returned back to their seats and Haruto quickly flipped through his book to see the different subjects they are currently taking to see what he could focus on for the upcoming exams.

"It's really quiet here.."

"It's a library, of course it would be quiet here."

Haruto rebutled Hinata who was looking around the library and saw many students sticking their faces into their books trying to prepare for the upcoming final.

The three of them found an empty table and sat down. They opened their notebooks and turned to Haruto.

"Okay so what subject do you guys need help with."

""English!""

The both of them spoke out loud, making them get the glares of everyone in the library.

"Quiet down.. Okay let's read some of the passages from the book and I'll ask you some questions in english and try to answer back to me." Haruto said and pointed to a chapter in the book to begin their session.

"What day did Johnny buy some bread?"

"E-Eto Jawnney wento buy samu bredo on Maun-day!"

"Ohh pretty good there!"

Haruto was surprised that Kageyama was able to answer back and Hinata looked beside him in shock as he didn't expect him to really give an answer to Haruto. Hinata quickly asked Haruto to ask him some questions to not lose to him.

"What did Sam use to write his letter?"

"This is my pen!"

"Pfft"

Kageyama laughed at Hinata's answer, making Hinata glare at him.

"What are you laughing at?"

"You idiot it's "This is pen is mine." Kageyama gave a smug face and Hinata listened carefully to his answer.

"No, both of you guys are wrong. Why would you say it was your pen when I'm asking what Sam was holding." Haruto stared blankly at the two people in front of him for their answers.

"So it's "You are Sam's pen?"

"When did I become a person's pen.."

"I am Sam's pen?"

"We are Sam's pen?"

"Okay stop saying that we became a person's pen."

Haruto quickly stopped both of them from continuing and tried to switch their focus from trying to find out if they were someone else's pen. The three of them continued to practice some questions and vocab until many hours passed by.

"Mahiru thank you so much for helping me with modern literature again!"

"It was no problem, it was also really helpful for me since I also got to review some parts of the passage I needed to focus on."

In the far corner of the library Yachi had shining eyes towards Mahiru as the two of them finished studying their modern literature. The two of them became close after Yachi had shown Mahiru her designs for the bookmark and they became closer after attending the Inter High matches together to watch.

"But who knew the library would get this packed, we were lucky we got this spot early on." Yachi said as she gathered her books and placed them in her bag getting ready to leave.

"Well it is nearing finals so I guess everyone wanted to prepare." Mahiru gave a smile as the two of them began to walk towards the door to exit.

As they were walking they heard some hushed voices that were familiar and they saw Haruto, Kageyama and Hinata at a table talking with Haruto who had a tired face.

"Okay just repeat back the phrases or answers that you remember…"

"Jawnney buy the Maun-day!"

"Johnny can't buy a day of the week you idiot.."

"We are the pen!"

"Why are we back to this pen stuff again.."

"GO.. TO.. HELL!"

"Where did you even learn any of that in the book.."

Haruto's lifeless eyes began to become even more dead as the study session so far hadn't made any significant progress.

"Haruto, so you guys were studying here as well?" Haruto heard a voice and saw Mahiru alongside Yachi approaching them towards their table.

"Are you also a pen?"

"What nonsense are you saying?"

"So it was that rough teaching them huh?" Mahiru laughed at what Haruto told her as he retold how his study session with the three of them went.

"Well at least we were able to get into a big chunk of the material. I just don't know how much will really stick."

Haruto replied back as he took a drink of some orange juice he got from a vending machine before leaving the school. Mahiru and him were walking home together as it was getting late and the two of them were going in the same direction anyways.

"But you guys are going to Tokyo for a practice match. Are you participating in any of those tournaments like the Inter High?"

Mahiru asked this question while glancing at Haruto who mentioned why it seemed like Kageyama and Hinata were trying their hardest to study.

"Yup, we were very lucky to be invited to it since it's usually closed off to outsiders."

Haruto continued to tell Mahiru about the trip next month. She listened carefully at his words while she thought back to the conversation she had with another person during her lunch time.

'I should probably not tell him since I want to see his surprised face again.' Mahiru decided in her head and gave a quick chuckle at her thoughts.

"Hmm, did I say something strange?"

"Nope I just thought of something funny~"

Haruto tilted his head while Mahiru just laughed it off. She held a smile on her face as she walked with Haruto home and decided how she should prepare dinner for the two of them to eat.

Sorry for the later chapter. I was trying to catch up on some of my Genshin quests and tbh I pretty much just skimmed through the dialogue since it was just filled with NPC's talking. Anyway I hope you enjoyed it. Peacu.
