1 The End Of The Modern Era

'Things are getting bad' thought Lucifer as he processed the information about the current world. Lucifer was doing it secretly because the AI that was said to be his conscious was not correct. Though it wasn't entirely wrong too, because the AI was more like his sub-conscious, and about his real conscious, that was not known by the researchers because he made sure it to be concealed.

At the present time, the state of the world was quite unbalanced. The people of the high society, after the discovery of AI, started the plan to abandon people of low-class, because the need of labor which was provided by manpower can be done by robots now and they felt that it was wasteful to give clean food, which was getting harder to obtain, to these 'low-class' people. So they abandoned them to the areas of high radiations which was the cause the high pollution. So the division of 'low-class' people which were abandoned to high radiations areas and 'high-class' people who lived in protected cities.

But that was not the worst, because some time after the high radiations areas started appearing natural phenomenon like tsunami, tornado etc. started appearing more frequently. At first it attracted the attention of the high-class people, but after some time when they couldn't find cause they started ignoring it.

'That will be the mistake they will pay for and dearly' thought Lucifer. Because the information that he got was that things had gone from bad to worse in the outside world. Even though he was imprisoned, but it was still in the most powerful computer so when no one was paying attention he would connect with the other computer networks and know the current happenings of the world.

From the information that Lucifer found, it came to his attention that for some time the 'high-class' people are considering the possibility of going to Mars. Mostly because of pollution. In fact, they have already sent some families to test the atmosphere for living in Mars. But things were not looking good on Earth, and they still had no idea of it.

Lucifer thought that he might try to indirectly warn the 'high-class' people about the situation. 'Not like they will be able to do anything against it' thought Lucifer. So he sent an anonymous message to the department that was tasked to keep an eye on the world outside of their cities. Which the department, very obviously, ignored being used to their idle and non-working life. Lucifer decided not to bother with them after being ignored.

Some time passed and when Lucifer looked at the situation at the high radiation areas, he got a scare of life. This time he decided to directly tell a researcher, which he thought still had some humanity left, thus exposing himself. The researcher was at first astounded to find that the computer could operate on its own because no matter how powerful a computer, input is still needed for it to work. The researcher was laughing madly at thought that of what he found. The possibility of allowing the computers to input data on their own, not paying attention to what that computer was saying. After getting ignored once more he decided to let them be on their own. As for getting found out, he didn't care because the researcher wouldn't have the time to tell others and even if will be able to tell them, they would be busy about another grave to matter to give more thoughts about his situation. Because island, right now, was sinking.

To be more accurate, it not the island sinking it was the sea level increasing. At other places it was even worse, the tsunami, tornado, hurricane, volcanic eruption, mountains falling apart, earthquakes, heavy rain with thunder falling almost every ten seconds, no place was spared. Everywhere around the world, destruction was taking place. Calamity was befalling everywhere on Earth. As if the Nature itself was provoked. Humanity really underestimated the nature and its power to maintain balance. Forgetting from where they belong and being haughty like everything was beneath them. Now, here they were, watching as everything they were so proud of get destroyed like some toys while being able to do nothing as the world get destroyed which they claimed to be theirs.

Lucifer was waiting for this moment when he will be able to get back his real body. They, afraid of something happening to their AI, at least didn't touch his body while maintaining it. Even though he too had no hope of surviving this calamity, he still at least wanted to die as a human rather then as a machine. During the process when he was trying to recover his body, everyone else too occupied to save themselves to notice him, when suddenly the ground shook violently which caused a stop to what he was doing. But by that time the process was almost over and the island was almost destroyed by the high sea waves so didn't notice that and still tried a futile effort to struggle but because he still needed sometime get used to it and his body's age now was around forty which he wasn't used to. So he found it extremely difficult to move. He fell and it was getting harder to stand with the increasing shaking of the island. And like that the island was submerged in the sea.

The sounds thunder, mountains being torn apart, fast howling winds, houses settlements schools etc. kept echoing in the atmosphere of Earth for quite a long time. Feeling like Nature was angered for polluting it. It started to doing a recycling type process aggressively trying to return it to how it was before, way before when man only started learning how to live. Being loyal to it's only job of maintaining balance.
