The Amazon of The Yokai Faction

Velon Eveningshade smiled to himself as he walked through Kyoto to his home. It was the one thing he got from his old family. They said that no Eveningshade should ever be homeless. So he got a small allowance while they paid the cost of his house.

It was a small two-story house. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a small kitchen, and a dining room. Plus a small living room with two small couches and a table in the middle.

He spent most of his time in the gym and the library at his college. He was particularly fond of being at his house unless he was sleeping. It always felt... cold, that was the best way to put it.

Not in an unwelcoming way, but more like it found him lacking, but still was willing to care for him. An boy did that piss him off.

However, right now as he walked through Kyoto and enjoyed the familiar sights and attractions, he felt his gaze wander. In that brief moment, destiny shifted and everything changed.

Velon Eveningshade saw a blonde-haired girl drooling at some tofu in a shop.

In most time lines he would simply not notice the kid and continue on his way, however, he did, and so he walked up to the store and went inside buying a small bag (or is it in a box?) of tofu, and as he left he gave the tofu to the surprised child and walked off.

"Enjoy the tofu kid."

However as he went to walk off, he was held by the girl who had a surprising amount of strength to stop him. However, he shrugged it off.

"Yes?" Velon asked as he saw the girl seeming to struggle to say something before she stood straight. Her posture idly reminded him of- nope! Don't go there. He didn't need to go into his past right now.

"We thank you for your gift. We are Kunou Kitsu. May we ask for your name." Speaking in the third person, meh, definitely not the weirdest thing he's seen.

"I am Velon Eveningshade. See ya later kid." Velon said and he walked away with a pat on the girl's head leaving many people around them smiling at such a kind lad.

Meanwhile, little Kunou stood with star eyes at her "savior" who was walking away. However, as she walked off eating her tofu happily, she was suddenly pulled into an alleyway by a pair of hands not even 35 minutes later.

In a good amount of timelines, Velon would go home, cook a small dinner for himself, and go to bed. However, in this timeline, things changed.

Instead of going to bed he would put on a movie and eat popcorn falling asleep on the couch with the window open allowing the beautiful night sky to be visible.

In most timelines, he wouldn't hear the wind blow down a small flower pot sending it to the ground and breaking it apart.

However, since he slept on the couch in this timeline he would wake up startled and see the broken flower pot. However, as he was cleaning it up he would glance out into the sky and see the beautiful night sky and decide to go for a walk.

So with his stuff pocketed and his door locked he left into the night enjoying the cool breeze. The night view of Kyoto.

Like most timelines in this scenario, he would eventually end up at, The Seimei Shrine. In most timelines however a barrier was erected around the shrine, but unlike most timelines, an old man happened to be watching and he ended up through the barrier unaware of his future fate.

Upon reaching the top of the steps leading to the shrine he would find a bunch of people in cloaks around the little girl, Kunou, whom he had given tofu earlier in the day in a magic circle while they chanted as the circle grew brighter and a light started leaving the little girl whom he noticed now had fox ears and several little fox tails.

Now normally in 90% of the timelines, a man would appear behind him and with a spell would end his life in a blaze of black fire. However, in the other 10%, the man was captured by Yokai who would interrogate the man.

In 96% of the remaining timelines, he hesitated long enough that he was noticed and killed. However, in 4% he gathers his courage and surpasses his jealousy and runs in and pulls the girl out of the circle.

He would shove one of the men in cloaks out of the way surprising them all, giving him time to grab the hand of Kunou.

Upon grabbing her hand though, the being sealed away behind the stone would "peek" at him and unconsciously push its essence towards him. This being was still technically asleep, however, the essence of this being was by nature playful.

However the essence came upon something it was familiar with, seals, and being a trickster at heart, the essence of this being burnt away the seal.

In 99.99% of the timelines, this would end up killing Velon and burning his very existence to ash. However, in that one moment, Kunou awoke and saw her savior on fire and wished he would live. With that, she went back into a nightmare dream.

Her wish would be heard by a being of unlimited and unmatched power. With a red flare-up of energy around him, Velon would survive, unlike all other timelines.

The Dream rewrote it as such. History and destiny were forever changed.

Velon couldn't believe it as he looked at his hands glowing in red energy. He felt powerful.

Did his birthright finally awaken? Did the power he should have had from birth finally awaken? In that moment though, he threw away all thoughts and focused on the main situation at hand.

Quickly throwing little Kunou over his shoulder and kicking hard he ended up destroying the magic circle, destroying the connection between Kunou and the being that was inside of whatever seal they attempted to break.

However, at that moment Velon flew up in the air from the kick and laughed. Doing a kick spin he landed on the ground crouching. He was giggling as he did a spin kick folding a man up on himself and ending his life.

An in that moment the red energy around him slowly seeped inside his being as his now activated magical core, a metaphysical one, sucked up the energy left by The Dream and the being sealed away.

"Come on let's do this!" Velon yelled out in excitement as he rushed at the cloaked figures who were preparing spells to fire at him, unluckily for them, he was on a power high and refused to let them power up moves.

So he went to the first of them and gave him a punch to the throat ending his life as his throat was crushed. However, as he did a spin kick to the two trying to physically attack him, he killed them but was bombarded by the remaining cloaked figures with magical attacks.

Fire, Lightning, Water, Earth, and a ton of other magical attacks blasted at him and little Kunou, so acting on instinct he tossed her unconscious rescue into the air and took the attack directly.

His core absorbed the energy of these attacks as it finally calmed down and he caught his little fox girl as she fell into his arms. He slung her over his shoulder again and followed his instincts.

He allowed the energy he could feel flowing through his being to flow in harmony allowing it all to come together and something amazing happened.

Ethereal red energy wings formed from his back, and a red tail of fluffy origin formed swishing behind him. His nails sharpening. Lightning coated his being.

However, suddenly the new additions vanished into his being. The lightning started momentarily longer and the sky thundered as the moon seemed to glow brighter.

"Oh well, I always preferred my hands to anything else!" Velon cheered and rushed in and easily defeated the cloaked figures.

Happy with that he gently set little Kunou down happy she was breathing, if a little strained, but breathing nonetheless.

At that moment though an older and more, mature, version of Kunou arrived with armored people with black feather wings and an old man holding a staff.

Also at that moment, a survivor of the cloaked men yelled "FOR LADY TAMANO NO MAE!" He then glowed and exploded.

Velon threw himself in front of Kunou protecting her while taking the blast himself greatly injuring him.

The last thing he saw was the lady rushing through the blast with the old man. The lady checks on the girl and the old man.

"Is she safe?" He asked the old man who smiled at him as he looked over at the women crying in relief.

"Yes. She's alright. We should get you healed young man." The old man said with a smile. Velon only smiled before his eyes shut and he fell into the realm of The Dream.

"Someone get him to the healers!" The old man yelled before the winged people rushed over and took him running off with him following behind. The woman carrying the child right behind them.

The old man smiled as he caught sight of the red energy momentarily appearing and healing most of the burns on the man. Most of the remaining injuries were superficial and could easily be healed.

"Things are starting to get interesting now." The old man said to himself as he stared at the thundery sky and the bright glow of the moon. He was sure if the sun was out it would be glowing brightly.

The Dream smiled as it listened to The Fate Makers complain about their threads all falling apart. All because he interfered in their plans.

"Little ones should watch their tone. This old one can only take so much before he will snap. He cares not for your little games to entertain yourselves." The Dream said as he glowed with his omnipotent red power pushing down on They Who Weave Fate.

Stuttering apologies the three beings vanished leaving The Dream to ponder on something.

"Did I remember to return that energy to myself?" He asked himself before mentally shrugging, he didn't care, the amount was so insignificant to him, it didn't matter.

"Oh well, have fun, my friend. Fun times are ahead of you." The Dream said before it flew along its chosen path in the infinite nothingness it occupied now that Infinity left.
