62 MEETING IN METROPOLIS

Later through the night, in Hells Kitchen New York, A group of men corner an innocent family in a dark alley. One of the men pull out a knife and walks towards the family, but gets hit in the face with an Escrima stick, knocking him out. At that moment, the vigilante NightDevil drops down and confronts the group of men.

"Oh shit." A man says.

Dick quickly bounces off the wall and kicks one of them in the face then throws his escrima stick again, ricocheting it off the wall and hitting another man in the head. The last guy standing runs at him, but Dick kicks him in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. The NightDevil turns to the scared family.

"Are you alright?"

The family slowly nod yes.

"Thank you." The father of the family says.

Dick smiles, giving them a nod back. They then walk off as one of the men get back to their feet and raises his hands to attack NightDevil. At that moment, a batarang is thrown at his head, knocking him out. Dick starts to chuckle.

"I had that." Dick says.

Spider-Bat drops down behind him with a smirk.

"Yeah I know. Just humor me."

The two then shake hands.

"It's good to- well, hear you Peter. But what brings you to Hells Kitchen?"

"I need a favor." Peter replies.

Later on the rooftop, Peter tells him about everything with Nick Fury, the upcoming invasion and the Avengers Initiative.

"Wow. That's a lot. So you need me to come to Metropolis with you?" Dick asks.

"No. I need you here. I need you to watch over New York while I'm gone. Or- if I don't comeback at all."

Dick nods.

"I won't let you down. But try not to get yourself killed out there, ok? New York needs Spider-Bat." Dick says.

Peter smiles.

"I'll do my best."

He then jumps off the roof and web swings away.

That morning, Peter prepares to leave with Jill, Ben, and Andrea standing there to see him off.

"Goodluck sir. I'll keep everything as you left it."

Peter smiles at his old friend.

"Thanks, Ben."

The two then share a hug.

"Go kick some ass, for me." Jill says.

Peter chuckles.

"You got it." Peter says, giving her a hug too.

Peter then looks over at Andrea, puts his hands on her face and the two share a kiss.

"I love you." Peter says.

Andrea smiles.

"I love you back."

Peter grins, then grabs his stuff and leaves.

Meanwhile in Coast City, Hal Stark walks into his secret underground bunker where he keeps his inventions, with his assistant Virginia "Pepper" Potts.

"You have a board meeting later this afternoon, what do you want me to tell them?" Pepper asks.

"Tell them I'm off saving the world, this isn't really new." Hal replies, opening a safe to reveal the Iron Lantern suit.

"The board won't be happy." Pepper says.

Hal begins to put his suit of armor on.

"Yeah, when are they ever happy?" Hal asks.

Pepper sighs.

"Just- becareful. Please?"

Hal looks back at her with a smirk.

"Aren't I always?"

"Do you really want me to answer that?"

"Ok, fair point." Hal says.

He then finishes putting on his suit of armor and takes a deep breath.

"In brightest day. In blackest night. No evil, shall escape my sight. Let those who worships evils might. Beware my power... Green Lanterns Light."

At that moment, the suit powers up instantly.

"You tell anyone about what I just had to say and you're fired. Not joking."

Hal then flies off as Pepper smiles.

In Washington DC, Ms. Wonder shakes hands with Steve Trevor before she leaves.

"I apologize for not being able to meet the president, but I am needed elsewhere." Diana says.

Trevor smiles.

"It's alright, I'm sure he's open to meeting you some other time."

Diana smiles and starts to fly away.

"Until we meet again!" She says as she flies towards Metropolis.

Meanwhile in Metropolis, as a woman is walking alone at night she starts to hear something behind her. She quickly turns around but doesn't see anyone there. She slowly continues to walk but she is then grabbed a cloaked figure and flown up into the sky, screaming all the way up. At that moment, a green wall blocks his path and Iron Lantern appears.

"You know I'm no expert on women, no one is, but I think if she's screaming at the top of her lungs, that means ahe doesn't want to go with you." Hal says.

The cloaked figure then flies in the other direction.

"Ok, you wanna dance? Let's dance."

He then creates a giant dragon to block their path again.

"Your move, tall, dark, and creepy." Hal says.

At that moment, the cloaked figure lifts the woman above his head.

"No! Wait! Don't!"

The figure throws the woman down towards the street bellow. Hal quickly catches her with a giant green pillow and puts her down safely on the sidewalk. He then lands infront of her with an heroic stance.

"Hal Stark...The Iron Lantern. You- saved me." She says.

"Sure did. It's what I do." Hal says

He then looks up at the sky and sees the hooded figure trying to escape.

"Hold that thought, I'll get you an autograph later."

He then flies up into the sky after mysterious figure. He searches the city but looses sight of him.

"Where the hell did he-"

At that moment, Hal is tackled from behind and sent through a neon sign. Hal looks up from the ground, seeing the cloak fell off to reveal the creature Nick Fury showed him. The creature then picks up Hal by the throat.

"You're gonna have to do better than that, precious."

The creature then punches Hal repeatedly in the face and body, soon sending him flying to another roof across from where they were.

"Ok- that was better." Hal admits.

The creature then steps on his chest and is about to deliver a final blow but that's when Spider-Bat swings in and kicks it off of Hal.

"Why are you here? Who sent you? I want answers!" Peter demands while having the creature pinned down.

At that moment Peter's Spider-Senses goes off and he quickly flips out of the way while the creature starts to Spit out fire. He then jumps out of the way again when a green train comes through and rams the creature into the wall. A green light then shines on Peter.

"Wait... Spider-Bat? You're real?" Hal asks.

"Yes, now turn off the light." Peter says.

Hal does what he says and lands infront of him.

"I had him." Hal says.

"Clearly. Is that why he had you on your back with his foot on your chest or was that all apart of the plan?" Peter asks sarcastically.

Peter's Spider-Sense goes off again and he tackles Hal out of the way of the creatures fire breath. The creature then tries to fly away again.

"If you're not gonna take this seriously, then take your glow stick and go home." Peter says.

He then runs across the roof and shoots a web out onto the creatures leg, sticking to it as it flies.

"Hey! Wait up!" Hal yells as he flies after them.

As all three of them are in the sky, the creature spits out fire aiming for Spider-Bat. Peter quickly maneuvers around the fire, causing it to go towards Hal, who creates a shield to block it.

The creature then flies through a building, causing Peter to jump up on the roof and run across it, then jump on its back when it comes flying out on the other side. The creature tries to throw Peter off, but can't break his grip. It soon slams him into the wall, finally freeing itself. As he is about to spit fire at Peter again, a shield comes flying in, knocking the creature straight into another wall. As Peter snaps out of his daze, he looks up and sees Captain Krypton, a superhero with a red, white, and blue costume, with an "S" on his chest.

"Seems like you could use a hand." The Captain says with a smile.
