9 The First Half Blood

I woke up to the sound of thunder. It was raining.

I lazily opened my eyes to spot two muscular bodies entangled with my own frail ones. I found myself chuckling at how weird our position was. It’s been days since I've been here and every time I wake up, it always feels like the first time.

Did you sleep like that?

Klint asked with a smirk.

They were both facing me while I laid on my back. Stephen's left hand was intertwined with my right hand and Aaron’s was with my left hand. My mates' open hands were wrapped around my waist and their were legs crossed over mine.

I blushed at our seemingly acrobatic position. I feel very helpless, vulnerable, yet safe and contended. I never knew having a mate, or in my case – mates, would feel this pleasing.

"Stop staring at our crotch unless you want to see what's under them," Aaron whispered. I felt goosebumps run throughout my body. The chilling sensations that only they could give made me want to purr.

"Uh, no!" I tried to break my hands free from them, but they were too powerful for me. I'm not submitting on purpose if that’s what you're thinking. I'm doing my best to break free but to no avail.

Are you really?

I am!

Klint rolled his eyes and smirked.

"Do you want to play?" Stephen asked, a thick coat of seduction covered his words. Both their eyes were still closed but there were smirking. When their faces got nearer, their early minty breathes fanned my face, making me flush in embarrassment.

How could their breath smell so good when we just woke up?

I used all my might to break free, my eyes turning silver. When both of them opened their eyes, it was golden.

My strength falters when I saw their eyes. In a flash, all my efforts to break loose fell onto submission. And I gladly submit myself to them.

Fucking masochist.

I begged them not to mate me when their auras turned into something dangerous. I know what they wanted, but I cannot bring myself up to do it yet.

We were on the kitchen, enjoying the cold morning when I almost choked on my spit.

"So, have you mated already?" Kaitlyn asked. My mates growled at her, but she raised her arms in surrender. “I didn’t do anything.”

Both of us were cooking eggs and bacon for her, me, my mates and cute little Avery. Their parents were living on the far side of the pack lands. It was tradition for the former Alphas and Lunas to enjoy their freedom for a couple of years before they rejoin the pack house and become Gammas.

And did I mention? The allied packs, which was still nameless, was the size of half the entire continent. The Crimson Harvest and Blood Winter was one of the biggest packs in the world, and them joining forces secured their spot at the top of the food chain.

"Thank you!" Avery said with a light blush on his cheeks as I handed him his breakfast. His blushing was so cute since the tint on his face was too pale.

How can he be so adorable?!

I know, right?

"You're welcome," I said with a smile. "Hey Avery, how old are you?"

The others only stared at me like I said something wrong. Did I do something wrong? Was age topics taboo?

Aaron was about to speak up when Avery interrupted him, "It's okay Aaron." His aura completely changed. Like the cute little Avery was gone in an instant. "I'm 33."

I almost dropped the pan I was holding when I heard him reply. Avery was smirking and I find it adorable.

"Oh, what?" I asked, purely shocked.

The others burst out laughing. Why? Is this some kind of joke?

"Well, Avery's a half-blood. Half werewolf, half vampire. So, his aging is not normal," Aaron said with a weak smile. “He stopped growing at the age of 12, so now here he is. So weird looking.”

Avery smacked him in the head. I gave my mate a questioning look. “What’s so weird about that?”

"True,” Avery said, glaring at his younger brother. “You see. I'm taboo. I was Gaither's, Aaron's dad's, firstborn with his first love and mate, a vampire. They thought that their love would be okay, but it resulted with my mother's death and Gaither's pack ranking down," he said with a bite of his bacon. "Gaither later had Stephen from his now ex-lover. Plus

I'm not fit to be the next alpha since I shouldn't exist, so yeah."

"Oh," was all I could muster. What could I say after that?

Wow, both of Kaitlyn and Avery's backstories are deep.

I know. How am I supposed to react?

"Well, I would be mad because I'm the firstborn, I should be alpha. But after I saw how hectic an Alpha's shit is? You can suck my dick!" he said with a laugh.

"Cheers, sister!" Kaitlyn chimed.

"It's really weird to hear that. Coming from a child," I said, face contorting.

Something was eerily disturbing. Like someone was watching me with another intention hidden in their eyes. I couldn’t help but look around, only to see that nobody else is around.

“Are you okay, babe?” Stephen asked when he noticed that my mood has changed.

“Y-Yeah, I'm just… I feel like someone’s watching me,” I replied.

“Oh, that’s just Squad Arcan,” Aaron said, pointing at the corner of the kitchen. “We have cameras all over the house. Squad Arcan watches over everything. Their eyes never miss a thing.”

I nodded in understanding. They even made me say hi to the camera since it has audio.

Although I know the Squad Arcan wasn’t the one who was staring at me with a glint of a different craving in their eyes, I hid my suspicions from them. I have to enjoy this breakfast with my mates’ brother and sister.

The breakfast went smoothly after that. The tension of their dark past did not affect the mood as I thought it would. Both my mates' older siblings are awesome.

At least that's what I thought at first.
