16 The Child of a God

I woke up to the sound of sobbing. My mates are cuddled on either side of me. Aaron was, as always, on my left while Stephen was on my right. Aaron's right and Stephen's left hands were under my head while their other hands were on my cheeks. Their legs were crossed over me so tight, is if they're never letting me go.

I felt like I'm in the middle of two helpless pups. Alpha bonds are stronger than most bonds, therefore the toll when the bond is threatened would also be stronger. The pain does not differ with one wolf or another. It hurts all the same.

"I'm sorry," Stephen whispered. "I shouldn't have left you."

"I'm sorry," Aaron added. “I shouldn’t have let my guard down.”

"Stop!" I pushed both of them away. "Let me breathe you little mongrels!"

"Babe," Stephen whined. “Let us make you feel how sorry we are.”

There was a hint of seduction in his voice that made me punch him in the shoulder. His face contorted with the pain. Aaron laughed and snuggled closer to me. Their possessiveness is showing again. It’s actually kind of cute if you ask me.

"It's all good Aaron, Stephen," I said to them. "At least now I know why Olivia took care of me. It hurts, yeah, but living with the pain of the truth is much, much better than being happy with the life of a lie."

"Wow," both of them sighed.

"That's deep," Aaron said.

"Like how I want to be inside you right now," Stephen teased. I sat up to inhale from the suffocating sexual pressure my mates are exuding. I don’t know if I can hold on much longer.

Their hands were still wrapped around my body. With eyes closed, my mates took in my scent. They’ve been sniffing me more lately.

"Yeah, no." The door burst open, revealing a pissed of Avery. "You really need to learn how to lock your door."

Avery looked at the door and saw that he broke the doorknob, “Oops. Or at least buy a tough doorknob. That needs replacing.”

"W-Where's Kaitlyn?" I turned to the still laying Aaron.

"Exiled," Stephen answered. I looked at him an felt no remorse whatsoever in his voice. He really hates his sister now. He didn’t even look opened his eyes or soften his aura.

"Enough about her," Aaron said. "What up Avery?"

Avery’s eyes kept on landing on my mates’ hands and flinched afterwards. "I extracted some information from Kaitlyn before she was exiled."

I raised my brow, giving him a questioning look, “What do you – Oh.”

His eyes turned red, "Vampire privileges."

Aaron leaned his lips to my ear, “He has the ability to do everything he says to someone who’s mind is weak enough.”

"Well, anyway. She said that Olivia promised her that she'll give her a spell to revive Celestine in exchange for you," Avery said, crossing his feet to look cool but actually looks like a bratty 9-year-old boy.

"Well, that's stupid considering–"

Avery cut Stephen off, "Resurrection spells are fraud, I know. But she's desperate. Olivia even told her that the spell is rooted from another realm."

"But why Klyde? What's Olivia's intention?" Aaron asked.

"Sit up and I'll answer, jeez, you three looked like you won't think twice about fucking the second I'll leave," Avery deadpanned. My mates sat up as quick as they could.

"Well, Kaitlyn didn't say," Avery said. "But I investigated Olivia's treehouse with the Selsa for Research and Development of Crimson Harvest Pack, and the Deltas of second and third squads. There, we found a lot of clues."

"Like?" I asked, raising my brow.

It was awkward for me that my mates kept on running their calloused hands on my bare arms. Their touch sent tingles within me that I know only they could make me feel. Everyday has been a torture for every day that passes by, the intense pull of my mates keeps on getting stronger.

"Something with the moon," Avery simply replied, handing me his phone and made us look over photos. "Lunar books, books about supernatural gods and goddesses, runes, and witch rituals."

"Oh, do you know why her target is me?" I asked him. I gave him his phone back and he noticed the clinginess of my mates.

“For the goddess’ sake, stop!” Avery yanked my mates’ hands off me and his eyes glowed with a dark red color. “Behave.”

“Jeez.” Stephen rolled his eyes but complied. “Your vampire-red-eye-thing keeps on getting weaker.”

Avery returned the eye roll and went back to the sofa he was sitting on before. “As I was saying, you have some kind of connection to the moon or the–"

"Moon Goddess specifically," a boy cut him off. A tall man with dirty blonde hair walked inside the room.

"Gosh, Brent," Avery deadpanned. “Did you have to steal my thunder?”

"Good morning Luna," he bowed down and greeted. I heard the both my mates and Avery laughed.

"W-What?" I asked both my mates, nudging them a bit.

Brent sighed and said, "It's not really fun when you share the same name with an adult film actor."

"O-Oh."

"Well, I suspect that you have some connection to the moon goddess," Brent said.

My mates raised both their left brows. "Oh, goddess, I forgot to introduce myself. Luna, my name is Brent Corrigan the Selsa for Research and Development of Crimson Harvest, pleased to serve you, Luna."

"Oh, t-thank you," I said. "But I don't think I understand."

Avery stood up and sat on the bed, directly in front of me. "We think you're a Moonschild, Klyde Moonschild. The son of the Moon Goddess."
