The Alpha On Campus

Everyone has that one person who makes them uncomfortable. That guy when he walks in a room you can feel the energy shift. A constant string of different girls under his arm, never really caring about much of anyone but himself. Two years I spent avoiding him, making sure he never knew I even existed. Even though we’re apart of the pack, a few families like mine weren’t able to talk to our wolves. Not ranking in a society built on levels can really take it out of you, so being in the same room as them is nevertheless difficult.. Who knew that all of that avoiding would eventually bring me here to this moment. Striding towards me was that same guy, dripping blood on the floor as he walked. "Mate.." he said sliding out the chair on the other side of the table plopping down into it. His face had splattered blood all across it, causing his piercing emerald eyes to shine bright against the red. I wanted to run.

The great escape

~Dali's POV~

After crying my eyes out I felt a strong resolve form in me. If they were going to attack my pack I needed to be there to help, I was their future Luna after all.

"Fallon, I will be back. I need to see what is going on in the real world." I said petting her head one last time.

She just nodded knowing I would call on her when I needed her. Slowly I drifted back into the disgusting cellar I was being held in. The smell still shook me to my core, the chemicals mixed with the coppery blood smell almost made me wretch. I sat up not wanting to move to fast, if I did there was no doubt that I would throw up. Walking over to the bars I could not even tell if it was day time or not. The screams were silent through out the building making it especially eerie.

There was no one in the hall, it seemed almost as if the entire building was empty. The only thing telling me it was real was the lingering smell and the cold cell doors holding me in. My heart stopped when I heard a loud creak of a heavy door being opened at one end of the hall way. Quickly I hurried over to my cot and tried to pretend to be asleep.

"I already heard you moving. There's no reason to pretend." the masculine voice sounded powerful but I could tell he was only a human.

Reluctantly I turned over to face the tall man standing at the door. The energy he gave off was malicious and I could see the hate brimming in his eyes.

"Fine, I was awake. What is it now?" I was trying to play it cool but my voice cracked at the memory of the last time I was taken out of the cell.

"Dinner." he said as he threw a piece of bread at me. It hit the ground and rolled over to my feet. The large fuzzy green patches told me that there was no way in h*ll I was eating that.

"Thanks your too kind." I said moving it to the side with my foot. "Say, you don't think I could have some soup to go with this?" the sarcasm in my voice finally got to him.

"I thought dogs will eat anything." he laughed as a long silver rod fell from his sleeve. "She only said we couldn't kill you she never said we couldn't have fun." his eyes darkened as he pressed the passcode to open the door.

My heart was beating out of my chest, I knew I could use this as a chance to escape. But without Fallon, would I be strong enough to take down this guy? I had no time to think it through before he was swinging the rod at me. I just barely dodged it before he was coming at me again. Our training seemed so distant but luckily my body remembered how to react. He swung the rod straight for my face, all I could do was reach up and grab it. The sizzling sound coming from my hands distracted him long enough for me to land a solid kick to his chest sending him flying into the cell door.

I fell back to the far wall holding my hands to my chest trying to think clearly. He was still down, this was my chance! I ran for the door, but just as I was about to cross through the door my vision became black.

"Oh no this wont do." Trista's voice was the only thing I heard before I doubled over in pain.

The pain subsided as I entered the Goddess's domain.

"Oh child you are a handful" the sorrow in her voice was immense.

"I'm sorry" I said looking up to her, the sadness was not only in her voice but written on her face.

"It is okay my child. I knew this day would come to pass, this is why I started with your first gift." she crouched down looking at me with her pale eyes. "I now bestow my second gift." she reached out and touched the center of my forehead.

The lingering pain from reality was completely removed and ease took its place. I could feel my body relaxing at her touch. Then a different pain set in.

"I am reconnecting you to Fallon. No one will be able to separate you two again." she moved her hand away and I could see Fallon standing behind her knowingly. "I also bless you with a protection, but heed my warning, this is temporary. If she finds out than she may be able to remove it. Now my child go, escape from this nightmare and save the rest of my babies."

She stood up letting Fallon pass to me, I could feel the strength of her flowing through me once more as I shifted back into reality. When I finally opened my eyes I was still laying on my cot. I guess Trista was too busy planning an attack on the packs to bother with me currently.

"We should link with the pack and let them know were okay." Fallon said finally back in her rightful place with me.

"Not yet, we need to escape this place and lead them here. If we link there is no knowing whether or not it would give away our advantage." I thought back to her. "Do you think you could travel through the Goddess domain to alert Serena?"

"I could try but there is no telling if I can locate her, and you'll be here on your own." Fallon replied reluctantly.

"Just give it a try, I doubt they will be back any time soon." when I finished she disappeared into the domain.

Now all I had to do was get the door open. Thinking back to when the guard had come in I tried to remember the code tones that would unlock the door. Although this turned out to be of no avail. Shortly Fallon returned letting me know that she was not able to locate her. Our only chance was to get another guard in here to over power. I got up and walked over to the bars, testing to see if there were any weak spots on them.

"Do you think we could break these if we used all of our strength?" I pulled on them, Fallon gave me the full of her strength but they didn't budge.

I walked over to the key pad still using her strength and tried to rip it off. Slowly it tore away from the door. I tossed the component onto the cot and mustered all of our strength to kick the cell door where the key pad would have been on the other side. The door creaked loudly under my kick's blow but not enough to open it. I backed up trying to gain as much momentum as I could for a second kick. With this one the door slowly opened, giving me the freedom I so desperately desired.

I slowly opened the door and peaked at either end of the hallway. When I was sure it was all clear I walked out towards the left, as I knew the torture room was to the right. Using my stealth I hurried down the hall only to notice the wolf's in the cells. My heart ached for them, but there was only one thing I could do to help the. To escape.

"Why don't we set them free?" Fallon asked annoyed with me.

"How? How am I going to set them free if were caught?" the fear in my tone made her huff.

"If we can't protect these ones how will we ever protect our pack?" she growled fiercely.

I looked around the hall to make sure there was no one coming, and walked over to one of the cells. Inside there was a small she wolf, she looked like she had been here for quite some time due to her frail figure.

"Excuse me..." I whispered causing her head to shoot up. "Do you want to escape?" I said while looking around. Her eyes lit up as she tiredly walked over to the door.

"Please my little sister was taken too, please save her first." she begged making my heart sink.

"Do you know if it is just wolves here? Are there any rouges?" I questioned grabbing the bars that were between us.

"No alpha, as far as I have seen it is just wolves on this level. As for the others I am not sure." she bowed her head respectfully.

"Alpha?" I said confused.

"Yes, I can tell that you are one.. If you save me and my sister I will follow you no matter what." she knelt down causing her deep brown curls to fall over her shoulders.

Surprised at the strength I found in myself I walked over to the lock and ripped it off. As quietly as I could I opened the door ushering her out.

"Do you know which one is your sister's cell?" I asked running on pure adrenaline.

"No I do not. I am sorry alpha." she bowed her head again. "But I do know that the guards use the same tones for every cell." she said before quietly singing the tones. I recognized them immediately and quickly turned to the nearest cell opening it with the code.

"What is your name?" I asked the petite girl as she helped the young wolf out of his cell.

"Carine is my name alpha." she gave a small smile as we walked quietly to the next door.

"Thank you Carine. We will get through this." I sounded so sure but I knew that I had no idea how I was going to get these people out of here.

One after another we opened the cell doors freeing all different ages and sizes of wolfs. By the time we had cleared the floor there was a total of twenty-three of us including Carine's younger sister Shala. I couldn't help but wonder where all the guards were but I couldn't let that stop us from getting free. At the end of the hall there was the heavy door that I had heard the guy come through earlier. I peaked at my now healed hands and took a breath before turning to the group.

"I do not know what is on the other side of this door. All I know is I will try my best to get us through this. If we make it you are all welcome to join my pack, my mate will take care of you all." I said it not realizing my alpha tone had set in making them all stare at me in wonder. One by one they each knelt down bowing their heads in respect.

"Thank you all. Lets get through this together." I said as they stood. Opening the door as quietly as possible I could hear the bustle of quite a few different people on the other side.

Mouthing the words stay here they all nodded and waited. A few of the male wolves took look out on the hall way to make sure the group was okay. Using my stealth I hid to the side of the wall and listened in to their conversation.

"Teaming up with that witch has been the best things the brotherhood has done in centuries" one said.

"I still don't trust her. Having all of those crazy b*stards as body guards really keeps me on edge." another replied.

"Oh come on she has complete control over them. Their not much more than lap dogs at this point." their laughter brought a whole new level of anger out of me but I stayed hidden.

"Of course but turning them from regular to feral isn't this something that we should be wary of?" another asked.

From my count there were at least five of them in the room. With the anger rising with in me I slowly crept up to where they were. I could see a door with a small window showing that it was just dusk outside. When I finally showed myself I knew that I had caught them off guard. I smiled at them sinisterly before taking them down one by one. Just barely catching the last before he could sound any alarms. I walked back to the group not realizing I was covered in blood until they all gasped at my appearance.

"I'm sorry for how I look but we need to hurry." with that they all followed me into the room ignoring the scene and out the main door to freedom.
