3 — Waking Up With Him

𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐅𝐓 kisses on her neck as she tried to open her eyes. The familiar smell of her mate welcomed her and she smiled in her half-sleep. This was a feeling she could never get enough of - waking up in Triton's arms.
"I want to see your beautiful blue eyes, love," Triton whispers in her ears.
His tail lifted Esmeray's as he pushed her on top of him. She unknowingly ran her hand through his mouth-watering chest. Years of training as a soldier had given him scars but she didn't mind them. She loved to trace her hands through them, although some of them were now covered by tattoos. His abs were enough to make her forget everything and there were times when she was left speechless because of the mere sight of them.
"I don't feel like waking up, Ty," she replies as she snuggled deeper into the crook of his neck. She knew she had to wake up but she tried to delay it as much as possible.
"Love, you know I would love to stay in bed with you any time of the day but our duties call. The sirens are becoming a headache," Triton says. He then bites her ear, earning a moan from her. She loved it when he teased her - it always managed to ignite a fire inside of her.
"Now, if you don't want my father to get up and drag us to the courtroom, wake up," he says. There was reluctance in his voice but being the future king of all the seas meant that he is expected to fulfill all of his duties and look after the Merfolk. He wished he had more time with his mate, but they were both enveloped with their duties.
"Okay, I will. I don't want King Theodore to get angry," she sighs and gets up from the arms of her mate. She looks into his silver-gray eyes. They were the most mesmerizing sight to see.
It had been two months since she had met Triton.
And those two months were the best of her life.
They had swum together to the castle where the families were informed of their mating. Esmeray still remembered her mother's reaction - she couldn't believe that her little pearl had become the Queen of the seas. Her sisters were jubilated and shamelessly used her new position out in the public. Esmeray didn't mind them much but it was getting out of control. She was their sister, not someone they can use to get whatever they want.
Her brothers were happy but not ready to let go of her. Her eldest brother, Cadmus had warned the Prince to not even dare to harm his little sister's heart. They didn't care that it was the future King they were threatening, they were only worried for their sister.
King Theodore and Queen Roseline approved of the union, not that they could go against the blessings of Goddess Selene, and Queen Roseline took it upon herself to train Esmeray to be the future Queen of the seas.
There were lessons, practices, meetings, and balls she had to attend. Esmeray was sure that Queen Roseline was satisfied with her progress but nothing less than perfection was accepted.
She didn't mind since she knew that this was the price that came with being the prince's mate. She would do anything for Triton.
She might have known him for just a month, but it felt like she had known him for an eternity.
He was very open with her as he didn't hesitate to tell her what he felt. His over-possessiveness was both warming and over-bearing.
"I have surrendered my heart to you, love. You can do whatever you please with it. Every kiss you give, I will cherish. Every hurt you inflict, I will beat it. Every tear you cry, I will wipe it. But promise me, you will never let me go," he had said.
That was enough for Esmeray to break down all her walls and let him in.
She will soon bear his mark on her neck when they mate. The blue moon was approaching slowly and it was an auspicious occasion to mate. So, they didn't do anything further than kissing each other.
The heat and passion between them grew by every single second they shared with each other. Esmeray could see that Triton wanted her as much as she wanted him - not to forget, their patience was weathering away. Yet, they waited.
After mating, Esmeray was sure that she would be carrying his children. Her heart fluttered at the thought of her Merbabies.
Mermaids are supposed to have multiple children during the same pregnancy. There was no denying that Merfolk was a highly sexually active species. It was in their nature, they couldn't do anything about it.
It was a wonder how Triton hadn't pinned her down the bed and fucked her hard. For that though, they had to convert back into their mating forms where their tails would be replaced by what they called, legs. From the history teachings, Esmeray has had, mermaids have a body hidden inside their tails which appears when they are ready to mate. The same goes for the merman.
Their mating bodies were called Anthropos.
Esmeray waited for the day when she would be able to see that part of herself.
"Ray? We need to get ready," Triton says again, snapping her from her thoughts.
She nods and gets up from him. Before she could walk away, she is pulled to her mate's heart chest and her lips are captured in a hungry kiss. She moaned as he pulled her closer to him, her hands going wild in his hair. He bit her lower lip and explored her mouth with his delicious tongue.
Esmeray suddenly felt so hot that even the cold water around her couldn't quench the fire she was on. Sparks ignited on his every touch and she kissed him with back with equal passion.
They hesitantly pulled apart, their eyes staring at each other with lust.
"I can't wait to have you under me, Ray," Triton says.
"And I can't wait to have you inside of me, Ty," she replies with a seduction laced in her voice.
Triton looked like he wanted to do something more like she wanted to do something more with him. Their eyes were darkened and they barely had any control.
Before Triton could capture her lips again in a kiss, a knock sounded on the door.
"The King has requested your presence, your highness," the sound of a servant sounded from the other end. Triton cursed under his breath and Esmeray mentally groaned.
The tiring day begins.
