Her angelic voice rang repeatedly on my ears, how soothing, it was like a tiny  light in the peach of darkness, I came back to my senses when she coughed twice, wasn't she in the witch kingdom, how is she here now, or am I hallucinating, did something happen him the witch kingdom....I was really anxious and totally forgot about Mato...

I slowly turned back to face her, I saw how she looked and I felt distressed, she looked scattered and the tired looks on her eyes was so obvious, her eyes that is always bright now have a deep trace of dullness, just what had she experienced in the witch kingdom to make her like this, I didn't even know what came over me as I pulled her into my embrace, I miss her a lot, I now realized this, I can no longer delay it, I will never be able to stay with any other woman except her. Why was she like this and my sister how is she doing, has she been rescued, thousands of questions flooded my mind,I wanted to ask her when she started sobbing in my arms, her shoulders trembled violently as her tears poured down my shirt, I decided to find out later, but now, I will just console her. After some moments, her crying still hasn't lessened and I remembered Mato who is still lying on the ground uncounsious, then I know I had to stop her or Mato might really die this time, but I don't have the heart to stop her seeing how she is still trembling in my arms, but I have to lest my Beta might die.

"Catori"

I called her with the gentlest voice I could muster but she didn't answer instead her sobs instestified, sobbing very pitifully in my arms.

"Catori, listen to me, you have to listen"

I said, already getting anxious, panic obvious in my voice

     PRIESTESS CATORI POV

The  first news I heard when I got to the palace is that the alpha have rushed off in search of his Beta, I asked some royal gaurds and found out what happened, the Beta was poisoned, his majesty must have been very devastated, I was still digesting this news when another shocking news got to me, the royal physician told me that he intend to come look for me in the witch kingdom today before his beta went missing, I told him not to look for me but he wouldn't listen, now Mato is also missing, I decided to join in the search for them, he might leave when he finds Mato , I inhaled deeply and followed the trail of his scent. As a witch, I could differentiate scents of other creatures or you could say am more sensitive to scent, and also he is my mate, so his scent is more obvious and easy to trail. I followed his scent and it left me to the old river at the far end of the forest, and there I saw him, I stilled, I haven't seen him for just four days and I already miss him a lot, I watched on as he ran about in panic, I frowned what happened, I watched on as he made to lift something to his arms and shockingly to me, it was Mato and he was uncounsious, just what on earth happened here.

"Your majesty"

I called out to him, he stiffed for a moment and slowly turned towards me, I looked at him as he watched me in a daze, surprise written over his face, I looked in to his eyes and just happened to see how the emotions on his eyes changed from worry to  confusion to joy and then again to worry, I stared sobbing the moment I got into his arms, I have been through a lot lately but never did I shed a single drop of tears, but when I saw him, my venerable side surfaced, I robbed continuously on his arms not letting go, I missed him a lot, at that particular moment, my brain went blank I didn't think  of anything again as I sobbed in his warm embrace, he continued to hug me whispering sweet words into my ears to calm me down but I couldn't stop sobbing.

"Catori"

I heard his gentle voice calling out to me, and I couldn't understand what I felt at that moment, his voice was gentle, very patient and coaxing, I have been wanting to hear him call me by my name with this gentleness not with the usual cold voice he used to address me after the fight, though am happy that finally he opened up to me but am still sad, why does it have to be now.

"Catori, listen to me, you have to listen to me"

His voice broke me out of my trance and I noticed the panic in his voice, I put myself together and looked up to him.

"Mato is uncounsious..."

"I know that I have already seen him,  what happened to him"

I asked as I headed towards where Mato is currently lying down, I felt his pulse, it was very weak, I frowned, the poison in his body is mysterious I have to research on it, I felt his pulse again and asked Alex.

"Did he enter the water"

"Yes, yes he..."

"Did he stay inside the water for long, how long did he stay underwater, the poison in his body is affected by it"

"He drowned"

"What"

I was shocked, drowned...

"When I found him, he was already uncounsious"

"Inside the water.."

I asked him to make sure, i was hoping to get a negetive reply but.

"Yes, he was uncounsious inside the water, at the depts of the river, that was where I found him"

I blinked twice at him, shocked at his response.

"How and why did you let him get into the water"

"I didn't"

"No need for your explanation, am going to perform a month to mouth respiration now, so he can wake up, he has been in the water for too long, I don't know if it will work"

I muttered the last part of the sentence in my heart.I placedy hands on his chest, pushing him slightly, but still no reaction from him, I was about to put my mouth on his to perform a mouth to mouth respiration since that is the only option left, when I heard a deep and dangerous voice.
